  • Right- it's my day off tomorrow and I'm off to buy cheap flannels for the two colour cup cakes and also some brown flannels for the reindeer! Very excited and will post back with the results.

My son has been crafty this afternoon ... Bless him he is 5 and can be a complete pain in the bum but he had fun making 3 flannel reindeers this afternoon ... only once we had done then I realised i haven't got googly eyes or red pom poms ... so we have 3 no eye deers :D til my new pom poms and eyes arrive ... not bad for a 5 year old eh ;)

Can I ask where you got the bells?

    Thanks

Hi Ems, I put up a list on the other thread of where I got everything from ... have quoted it below.
    Thanks
    Tams
Brown flannels - Wilko's 25p each (thanks to Rainmac for her info)
pipe cleaners I got from here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250264053737 (I have used 1 pipe cleaner per reindeer so 50 was more than enough for me)
    Bells from here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/50-pcs-8mm-Silver-Colour-Jingle-Bell-PE198_W0QQitemZ200242531711QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200242531711
(absolutely fantastic seller, item arrived the next day! really nice transaction for a change!)
Googly eyes from here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=290247809097 (possibly not the cheapest but ideal for me as I have loads of money in paypal and not much money in my bank account ... plus the OH need not know what I buy if paying by paypal.)
red pom poms from here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=260159471130
I used an elastic band to hold ears in place then tied with ribbon and a bell after :)

Brill thanks. How funny I had bought the same pipecleaners.

Bought smaller amounts of eye's and pom poms though as I don't have much storgae space.

    Off to buy bells now.

I usually do lots of baking for the school christmas fair but things like this I can do in advance. :T

Made these up out of flannels yesterday. The chick and rabbit have a doughnut hole in the middle to put soap in or for easter a cream egg. My handbag flannel isnt finished as I cant work out how to keep the soap in there as pictures not too clear- maybe its kept in place when you wrap it in cellaphane! I need to buy some embellishments for the purse. Instructions for both are on http://own-two-hands.livejournal.com/46859.html.

    How cute are they !
    both of them are lovely

I know someone was asking on here
for an idea on how to make one that
is a cat,I bet with a bit of jiggling about
you could alter the rabbit one to look
    like a cat.

The way these are packaged is different, they seem to have used metallic fairy cake cases.
They also have ones in sundae glassses which maybe you could adapt using socks as well as flannels
The bigger birthday cake I assume uses hand towels
