Been having a think about the large towel cakes. Could give them at Xmas and make them to look like a traditional Xmas cake i.e. white or a swiss roll one to look like a Yule log (mumoftwo has already done this - see 1st page for pics). I've been looking at ideas for boxes and found some Xmas themed ones which got me thinking about this. Should really be doing housework but this is much more interesting...:D

I know the hoover is beckoning,
but its such a lovely sunny day.

It would be worth looking out
for one of those cake frills that
    you put round christmas cakes.
I bet somewhere someones got one
    in their reduced section.In fact
its stuff like this there is a chance
you might spot, roll a white towel
pop it on a cake board, add the frill
and add some christmas cake decs
on the top you could probably get
away with using cellophane to cover
it all if you did not have a box.

Didn't even think of using cello - that would work ok I think and as I have it already would be cheaper than using a box. Thanks rosekitten, great idea, the boxes are lovely though...still not turned the hoover on, DS2 is now asleep so can't hoover at mo even if I wanted to as I may wake him up!

For all you cup cake lovers - there is a free knitted cup cake pattern here:
    http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/free_knitting_patterns/knitted_cupcake_decoration/index.html

Maybe you could knit them and include them as decorations in your boxes.

Hi I have been doing 3 tier nappy cakes for a while now, at craft fairs I find its such a limited market, every one goes crazy with them but they dont have anyone to buy them for so for the next one I am planning to do the smaller cakes and muffins but I need the cake box with window http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pink-Large-Sponge-Cake-Towel-Soap-Set_W0QQitemZ310049340280QQihZ021QQcategoryZ20443QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewIt
The problem with the cello wrapped cakes is they take up so much room transporting them, ( only 4 to the back seat of my car) where boxed items will transport stacked up.
I would also like similar box to this but smaller for the " log" designs
any idea where I can buy them in the UK?
PS I love " MUFFIN CAKE" idea for the flannels and the cases are so cute.

As it's you guys that have given me the inspiration, wanted to post this pic here too (have already added to Finished Baskets thread). I made this for a friends birthday. She loves a cup of earl grey tea (yuk I know but she likes it!) so I put together a selection of things tea related - sort of - tea for one set, teabags, teabag holder, tea and honey fragranced candle, cat coaster, flannel cupcake and cute cupcake notebook. All contained in a cupcake patterned bread basket - thanks bunbun2 for agreeing that this was a must have buy!

    Hope you like it...

Sorry can't be of much help, I've been having a little look for some, not to sell goods but to package homemade presents for Xmas etc so they look professional. Have come across this site...
    http://www.highstreetcookshop.co.uk/acatalog/Cake_Boxes.html
I haven't ordered anything from them, I've just been looking.

By the way, not sure if it's just me but I can't view the ebay link in your post?
