does anyone know how I can make flannel cakes?

the soaps on the top of those larger cakes
I have seen them in either Poundland or the
99p shop in a box of six.the price of them
is outragous,whats a hand towel cost £1.99
someones making a lot of money.
As for the packaging if you think about it
lots of grotty ugly stuff is packed in clear
plastic boxes.I can well remember seeing
a really ugly cheap & nasty mug in one shop
a while back that had been reduced to 29p
if you popped the mug in the bin or passed
it onto a charity shop you could put the box
to good use.I also noticed in the 99p shop
they have clear tube with a flat base with
three bath scrunchies inside you could take out
the scrunchies and use them in other things
and then slide a swiss roll into the box.
I think before I buy any boxes I am going to
see whats reduced in the shops first because
we have the Summer sales coming up and there
are bound to be things I can pick up cheap
but packed in useful boxes. If I cant find enough
then I will buy the rest.
So if anyone spots anything
let us all know on here.:j:j:j0 -
Also if you want to experiment with
dotty & striped flannels in Poundland in
the baby section they sell a packet of
baby flannels there are six in the pack
2 striped 2 dotty and 2 plain in different
colourways I would say looking at them
they are smaller than regular flannels
but that might be better as you only
need them to contrast with a plain one.
Thinking of the swiss rolls and how well
the cheap and cheerful white ones work
best as the filling.:j:j:j0 -

rosekitten, you are so creative, I would never have thought of buying something to use the box for packaging something I'd made. Really clever and a great idea, thanks!
Going to try google now and see if there's a Poundland near me for patterned flannels... If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

often in the past I have seen things
especially in clearance sections and
reduction bins where the contents
have been dire but the packaging
is really not that bad and now I
will definatly be looking at it all
very differently,when I think of
the boxes thrown out in the past.:j:j:j0 -
I am the same now Rosekitten. I have those plastic boxes that the Morrisons cupcake mugs and trays came in. They are a bit big for a cupcake but I have kept them, knowing that the moment I throw them away, I will find some use for it.
And I have kept a round plastic cake box and will attempt making a larger cake as described on the last page, no way I would pay £16. Even buying a cheap sponge just so you can have the box must be cheaper than paying that amount of money..
