Dipping my orange toes into the water..

Trying to work out my daily interests. The monthly amount varies but based on this month our daily interest is £16.23. Gaaahhh!!
Along with aiming to get to 299,999,99 by the end of the year, this is another target.
So £15 a day interest hear we come!3 -
Frugalwoods blog recommends always having frozen pizza in for exactly those moments.5

Knowing the daily interest really focuses the mind doesn't! My mortgage started life smaller than yours so I've only ever paid around £10 per day and now I'm at £2.50 a day but even so, shocking to know it is added EVERY SINGLE DAY! Keep going @Orangetoes
PS. @Viking_mfw Good tip about the pizza but sadly I can't be trusted with having temptation with easy reach!4 -
@Viking_mfw yes we always have frozen pizza, the kids love it and have it every week. Always good to have quick and easy freezer options!

Thanks @caeler oh £2.50 what a dream!! You are doing so well!!
Yes the every single day thing really hit home, I would never just spend £16 a day without planning it and the thought that I am definitely focuses the mind!
The good thing is every overpayment helps so I am hoping to see progress soon and never pay £16 a day again.3 -
You will soon see progress - and then one day you'll be on the dizzying heights of 75p/day like me! The more you can OP, the more it becomes a lovely compounding snowball 😀
Another pizza fan here, but I can't be trusted to have it in the house or I'd just eat it - I have to buy it on the day I'll be eating it, or it wouldn't last 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3 -
75p oh wow!!!! Well done @South_coast!! That is fantastic. That's like buying a pack of crumpets a day!

Well done @Orangetoes that £30 is working harder in your mortgage pot 😇New to all this!Mortgage balance 01/01/21 £181,400. Scheduled repayment date Aug 2036.
Target savings to overpay in 2021 £12,000
Progress to date £7105/£12,0003 -
Thanks @SpendingPennies I do feel a little bit virtuous!! 😜3
-
So not so virtuous this morning. £50 spent on two hoodies for the kids. Not very mse as they don't need them but they have been really good at coping with lockdown number 150 and doing their school work so I thought this was a nice treat. They are made by a presenter who does kids science live YouTube shows each day and are as eco friendly as clothes can be.
It can be hard balancing the mfw dream and real life but I do think there needs to be a balance.
