Double Mend day, the sewing machine found its way from the back of the wardrobe. Have done a pair of DH combat style pants for him to wear for work. Will get the other 3 done tomorrow as machine is set up ready to go. Also sorted my work pants that needed some stitching doing. Minimised 5 items from the loft and only 1 item went in Make do was dinner from the freezer. Starting to look a bit odd with spaces appearing, Will need a sort out soon.

Well it's a damp old day, I've got a sore throat so it was a pottering day. However I made 2 loaves of bread, no white so its very brown and tasty. Sharing food with DD, so a loaf to her. Got rid of 2 squash, by making Sicilian roast squash and chickpea stew, very tasty and again DD had a portion Though she brought me some fridge bottom veg curry ,yummy. I finished a Christmas decoration for a WI competition, and donated craft stuff to DD who's up-cycling her house, her boyfriend is a handy DIY-er. She's never expressed any interest in crafting before, but her circumstances and health are both in a better place and she's come up with some very different and lovely things. I'm having a go at knitting socks ,just at the heel turning stage and can't concentrate on the pattern,it'll do tomorrow. Stay safe MrsS
Had to mend my little tripod as I snapped the leg off. Meltable plastic to the rescue. At the moment I am unpicking the neck of a jumper OH gave me as it had shrunk. Its lovely and soft and fits me but the inside of the high neck band is stained so Im turning it and will sew the edge down. Make do was to use a tool from my manicure set as a stitch ripper. I have got a stitch ripper but it is hiding. Minimise was to use up the last 2 slices of the sliced beef from new year in omelettes for DS and my lunch
Its me Culpepper LOL couldn't sign in with the old ID so time for a fresh start....
Make do: I have turned DS2 bedroom into a sewing room, while he is away, and have started covering shopping bags advertising DH old company, with Indian patchwork panels. My friend has described it as corporate to boho 🤣 Also, 2 scarves made from a tee shirt. Mend I feel like I am always mending things, but can't think of anything 🤣 Minimise I have found some more little bottles of essential oils in another draw 🙄, which have now gone into a little wooden box which DS2 made to keep them all together.
Have a lovey day 🙂

Make-do: D'you know, I can't think of anything specific offhand, but my whole life is "making-do" most of the time! I could perhaps claim making-do with a walk around our little town, via some lesser-known footpaths, cut-throughs, nooks & crannies, rather than our usual hike round the riverbank - currently underwater! - or driving off to somewhere else in our beautiful county or on our coast, as we often do when DD1's off work? Mend: the small floor tool for our Dyson; it's always getting utterly wound-up with various bits of thread, yarn & the DDs' lovely long hair, then refusing to work. But I've discovered that if you use a coin or blunt knife, you can turn the end & pop the revolving bristly bit out and unwind everything manually. My friend with short-haired dogs & a Dyson thought I'd broken it altogether when she first saw me do that, and she's a cleaner. But I think they must have designed it like that, or there wouldn't be the groove that takes the coin so you can undo it & do it up securely. Edited to add, just found that on one of their Maintenance videos! But not written down anywhere that I can see. Minimise: One pair of virtually unworn leather clogs minimised vie Ebay, and our old Mac Mini, which will be on its way back to Apple first thing tomorrow morning, having been safely replaced.
Onwards & upwards!

MMM......orning! The snow has been beautiful to look at, but I have also been busy........
Make-do: Made a huge lamb casserole using lamb from the freezer supplemented by a pack from MrT and rtc veg stew pack from MrL. (Also helping minimise the chaos of the freezer). Mend: Sewing continues, as more shopping bags are upcycled and fabric stash is minimised. Minimise: The bags of sewing supplies have moved upstairs to DS2 room until he returns on leave. We have had a bit of a furniture move around. I am pleased with the space we have created, but now have a 'spare' sideboard 🤣 I have also re arranged a couple of cupboards. The spice jars have new basket containers rtc 88p in Mr T. (Hopefully, this will make them more accessible). Also, 4 EBay parcels have been posted! MMMoving Onward 🙂

Morning Peeps, Make do - loved the term someone referred to Fridge gravel soup. Been eating this for dinners from the fridge. Friend gave me a bag of small spuds as they were spritting, picked them off and are ready to go in the pan. Mend - I did the 3 pairs of pants for hubby that needed turning up in 1 day. What a result for me Minimise - cheat as the said sewing machine went back into a new storage space straight away. 2 sale items got posted out too. OOh and 3 balls of wool out of the bag into a blanket being made.
