Hi everyone Laura your darning is wonderful, so neat you would never know! Wonderlife Ive decided to try a freezer bag! the plastic is thicker, the boots are slightly too big for me so I have to wear thick socks anyway, so there wont be a problem with becoming too tight or anything. Not a lot has been happening but: Make do: Made a large mincemeat pie with a jar I found in my cupboard - very nice with custard! Minimise: dd has started to crochet so I have looked out some books with crochet patterns in for her to take, when I see her next. Mend: glued my slippers back together! the sole had started to depart from the upper. Its been snowing here again so Im not going out anywhere. Nannyg
Make do: Made Mulligatawny soup using up some sad carrots and swede. Very nice, but could have been a bit more spicy. Popped half of it in the freezer to use as a curry base. Mend: DH has gathered all his jumpers together for me to mend. I shall try to start this tonight. I need something to keep me busy, and to stay awake while watching tv 🤣 Minimise: I have the £1 fees on my eBay account, so have started listing some items. Although, I have not been paid for about 3 items from previous auctions 🙄. Hopefully, we can minimise and earn a bit of money too. 🙂
MMMing onward 🙂

Hello All I think all my MMM is merging into one! I've got rid of a lot of yarn by knitting DD a multi-strand blanket and 2 cushions as a Christmas present, so that minimised my yarn-stash ,I didn't have to buy a present and she loves it. I've knitted a beanie for her yesterday and am considering knitting wellie socks . I've mended several pairs of trousers, jumper and a coat, plus made fingerless mitts and a tank top out of a passed on cashmere jumper. The fridge is looking very empty and there is one whole drawer clear in the freezer, so all that's been minimised. With not going out and making do, I didn't buy Christmas wrapping paper, ribbon, ties or tags and have still got leftovers.....how did that happen? Plan this year is to use up the rest and try to make a dent in the gift-bag mountain, I'd love to make drawstring bags for gifts, de-stash the fabric. Which takes me into the no craft spending forum!! Stay safe MrsS
Got my car fixed today, it needed a new battery so that's my mend for today (although I didn't actually do anything apart from pay for it ).
Had to throw out one of my favourite ceramic cooking dishes yesterday - we were having an easy meal of frozen breaded fish, hm chips and peas, checked on the fish half way through and the dish had cracked completely in half. Not sure how it happened.
Christmas tree is down and will get lifted with the garden waste next week. I've cut up some of the Christmas cards to use as tags for this year.
Debt Dec 2022 - £2972.68. Current debt - £1539.45 (48.2% paid). Emergency fund - £835.50/£1000 (100% saved). Car fund - £714.56/£1000 (71.5% saved). Flat deposit - £6018.58/£15000 (40.1% saved).
Oooh, thanks for reminding me. I tore the backs off our Christmas cards so DD could keep the fronts for her early years children at school to reuse next Christmas. I'm also minimizing some of my yarn stash, making knitted slippers that I can take in my bag when we're eventually allowed to visit family!

Make do: I found a big red travel bag which I was going to list on eBay. Not very practical or fashionable now we have suitcases on wheels. I have a plan to turn it into a shopping bag........watch this space 🤣 Mend: DH was struggling to get the old sleeve off the paint roller. I helped him out by hitting it with the hammer. 💪 Girl Power! Minimise: Lots of things listed on eBay. Minimising with a purpose.
Have a lovely day 🙂

Have been feeling quite industrious lately and have mended both of OH's running shoes. He has an ancient pair for work and a less ancient pair for home and both were knackered. Lots of stitiching later and have learned to use a stitching awl and both pairs are usable again. Also been darning quite a lot as I have numerous wool socks with holes. Mended a jacket with a patch taken from the inside of the pocket ,had to remake the pocket but its not visible so the colour doesnt matter and you really have to look to see the outer mend. Have been minimising the sock drawer as quite a lot of them cause me to get sore toes. We wont throw them though, they can be used for cleaning. Found one of DD's cupboards contained a rather mouldy sheet (she brought it back from uni) so have washed it and it is now torn up for use as rags for OH to use in his oily and painty craft work.
Its me Culpepper LOL couldn't sign in with the old ID so time for a fresh start....
Make do: Found a box DS2 made in woodwork when he was about 10 years old. Perfect for storing essential oil bottles. Mend: 4 of DH jumpers mended. Minimise: DS2 has returned to work after his Xmas hols. 😢 So, now there are only 6 people at home to cater for.
MMM

make do with items from the fridge and freezer for yet another squeezed out meal and a day from the shops. minimise by removing an item from anywhere to facilitate anything coming into the house. mend - hubby finally stuck a leg into a little stool i have that was my grandmas. Need to focus a little harder for the next week. Got baking stuff that needs transforming too.
stay safe all

Morning Peeps, Make do - dinner from the freezer yesterday was nicer than I anticipated. Also removed a mixed curry that will be used today. Aiming to design meals from the freezer as there is plenty to go at. Minimise - the indoor wood pile that has been cut down from an ex display wardrobe after we have selected the pieces we need for other jobs. Found an incomplete crochet blanket with the wool balls with it. Time to sit and do a bit again. Mend - sadly this pile is sort of getting pushed to one side there is plenty to go at too. Have a good day, be kind to yourself x
