Hello everyone and I am pleased there is a new thread going for this again. Make Do - I made some soup from some past their best broccoli and tin of tomatoes. Mend - I repaired an old jumper and some tights. Minimise - I finished decluttering over the Christmas period but now I have to shift the items I have sorted. Normally I take it to charity shops but being in tier 4 they are all closed. I may offer items on Olio. I think that is it for me. Happy New Year all!

Using up a shower gel of OH's which he claimed was totally done but I've used it 3 times now and I reckon there's a couple more showers worth still left. It's a Lynx Africa one which reminds me of my teenage years
Went through my toiletries tonight and moved a face scrub from the cupboard to beside the sink, it's been sitting in the cupboard for at least 18 months so hopefully this will remind me to use it up.
Debt Dec 2022 - £2972.68. Current debt - £1539.45 (48.2% paid). Emergency fund - £835.50/£1000 (100% saved). Car fund - £714.56/£1000 (71.5% saved). Flat deposit - £6018.58/£15000 (40.1% saved).
Please may I play again? I do tend to dip in & out when I'm busy, but now we're locked-down again, I can't claim to be run off my feet... all my markets & events have been cancelled, for the foreseeable future. Make-do: left-over lamb tagine for tea tonight, which neatly used up a number of small Christmas leftovers too; notably, some olives lurking in the back of the fridge as well as half a tin of black-eyed beans the DDs had left in there. Also some chard stalks freshly gathered at the allotment this morning; the girls will eat the actual leaves in a stir-fry tomorrow. Mend: I screwed a new fitch catch onto the sash window in our living room today; DS3 inadvertently wrecked the old catch a couple of days ago, but as that had never been fitted right, the window has been stuck about 1cm open for the last - 10 years? Which caused a horrible draft to howl down the neck of anyone sitting on the sofa underneath it, despite my attempts to muffle it with nets, lined curtains and a draft-stopper. Anyway, the new catch has pulled the window into the correct position, and the draft has all but vanished; it was amazing how quiet the room suddenly felt, as well as warmer! Minimise: Christmas has all but gone... I'll get the boxes down from the loft tomorrow & pack away the bits we've decided to keep; some just - didn't make it through - & are already in the bin (broken things that can't be mended or made into something new) and the tree (a culled Scots pine from our local RSPB reserve) has been positioned in the shrubbery to provide some extra winter shelter for birds & insects.
I do have some serious minimising to do; it took me a couple of months to realise that I wasn't going to be able to trade for quite some time, and I snapped up a few auction bargains during that time, so am now very much over-stocked & it's spilled out into our living space, which Won't Do. So I need to get listing stuff on Etsy & Ebay...

Hi, Hope you all had a reasonable Christmas. Make Do: We were gifted a George Foreman grill as the owner no longer used it - to be honest, I didn't think I would but it makes really nice toasted sandwiches and I don't have to buy a sandwich toaster. Mend: Replaces the lining in a facemask, as well as re-attaching a pendant from a choker which I discovered when we cleared out the spare room. Minimise: We've finished up pretty much everything from Xmas - I was wondering what to do with the 5 apples and 2 pears I got with the Xmas veg-box, but a friend posted on FaceBook about drying apple rings, so I'm giving that a go. OH was in the loft anyway, putting away the tree and decorations, so my trusty dehydrator gets an airing. Also not far off finishing a crocheted blanket, which has minimised quite a lot of wool.

Happy new year all, been lurking and procrastinating as I do far too much. Things have been slow but still making small progress. Minimising - rule for me each time in the loft or a drawer full of stuff an item has to go. Successful yet slow progress. Make do - using up stored toiletries which are far too many, this too is getting there less items in the boxes, just not enough to get into one box yet to complete a minimise. Mend - does getting the bedroom done and finished count?? Lets see how we come out of this in spring a lot lighter,

Would love to add to this thread. We have started strong this year with MMM as we are all in isolation due to covid. We have made do with the food in the house, thankfully, we keep a well stocked pantry. We have made bread and biscuits too. We have mended 2 pairs of boots and a pair of p.j trousers. I have minimised some clutter, passing on some clothing and household items to people who can use it.

The Swiss darning is amazing, you can't see where the holes were. Well done!
