Thanks bubbs. 😊 Consultant was pleased for me but probably more pleased to see lots of new people rolling in. It's now in a lovely new venue and I think she's been leafleting. Loads seemed to be buying countdowns too. Good to see people making a fresh start. 😊

Brilliant maman that you're still in target.  Top end is fine - it's where I seem to have been for about 18 months now!

I forgot to weigh this morning so will have to do it tomorrow and send my weight to my new consultant.  Just checked my calendar and I've only got a couple of weeks between holidays to try and pull back whatever I gain from tomorrow and when I get back from holiday (I'm away for 3.5 weeks!).  Think this summer is going to be tough!

We've just sliced up the bacon and have got about 2 Kg of proper dry cure!  It takes a long time to do and it's not particularly cheap but it is so worth it for the taste but it's still cheaper than buying decent stuff (just checked online and it's anything up to £25 per kilo!).

Thanks for the good wishes. 😊

I think it's worth the money and effort to get the bacon you enjoy denise. 😋

I've been at the top end of target range for what seems like forever. I think it was  sary said to me that I've just got very good at maintaining. That's fine. I just want to do it 3 lbs lighter! 🤣

    Morning all,

Well done maman, that's great news :) Good that the meeting was busy but oh my word 4 stone gain! We once had a guy gain 17lbs over the two week Christmas/NY period and I thought that was bad.
Lovely food as always bubbs :)
That bacon sounds lovely denise mmmmmm

Weighed in this morning with a STS. I'm still just over that big number, so will be trying really hard this week for a loss. DH away from this afternoon until Sunday night. I am going to a friends house tonight and she is getting some pizzas in - was going to be curry takeaway but she changed her mind. I don't want to be the killjoy and not eat with her and the others who are going. Will also be drinking but will take rum and pepsi max and have maximum 2.

    Food today:
    B - shreddies, skimmed milk, melon - HEXB/HEXA1
L - tuna pasta, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles, light mayo - 2
    D - pizza(!), rum n pepsi max(!)
    Snacks - apple
    Total syns - lots !!
    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy

    Morning all.

Thank you maman - it is a lot of effort to make the bacon!  It takes over a week to cure before smoking for 24 hours, probably about 10 days in all!  It seems ages ago that we bought the pork loin.  Just had some of the bacon of breakfast and it was lovely, even better than last time.  I think it helped a bit that the bacon was more evenly cut than when DH did it by hand so worth the expense of the slicer as well but that will get used for slicing gammon joints for ham, LO roast beef slices for sandwiches so it won't be used just for bacon.

I remembered to weigh this morning!  Really pleased as I've actually lost 0.5lb since last WI so now 1.5lb to play with for my holiday!

Another load of washing done this morning and hanging on the line.  The forecast is for very windy (which it is) and dry until about 4pm - the washing should be dry in a couple of hours with the amount of wind there is.  Would have been good if I'd got enough of another load as would easily have been able to get that done too!

    Today's plan:

    B - bacon, scrambled eggs & mushrooms - P; S
    L - mixed veg soup; bread - HEB; S; F
D - Fakeaway KFC - chicken, corn on the cob, chips, beans - P; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - rum & ginger beer 5

Well done on your loss denise. Delighted for you. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I think the slicer is a very mse purchase as better slicing will make the bacon and other meats go that much further.

It's hard when you get invited somewhere coxy not to appear rude if you don't eat what's offered.  At least you have a full bank of syns. STS is definitely better than a gain.

I'd try to have something before you go so that you're not really hungry and then  try to just eat a minimum of the pizza to show willing. Then while DH is away for the rest of the weekend you could try SP or at least low carb as you'll be in control of what you eat.

We're out for lunch again today. I won't be doing my food shop today either so everything seems so strange. I'll write my meal plan later and get back on plan tomorrow. 😊

Thanks maman - I'm delighted too!  As you say the slicer will make the meat go further and will work out cheaper in the long run and will definitely be more flavoursome!

Coming out of lockdown and being able to eat out again puts us back where we were before - I really don't know how we'd do if we didn't go with the syn bank idea!  15 syns a day definitely doesn't work well for me, or many others on here!

Coxy well done on STS, definitely better than a gain. The bacon was definitely very yummy!

I agree with maman, have something to eat before you go so that you aren't hungry and won't eat as much.  Will your friend be preparing a salad to go with the pizza?  If so you could eat more of that and less of the pizza.  Just make the most of the time you'll be spending with your friend.  Plenty of time to pull back the syns over the rest of the week!  Low carbing is definitely the way to go while your DH is away.  Have you decided already what you are going to be eating?  If not, it would be a good idea to plan it so that you don't just grab whatever is to hand which is so easily done if not planned.  Sorry that sounds a bit like teaching your grandma to suck eggs!  but it really wasn't meant like that!

My friend in 2018/2019 lost 7 stone with slimming world. She put on 6.5 in the first 3.5 months of the first lockdown!!!!! It was well documented on facebook the whole new me never going back. Then this year its been all - i need to try so hard i have put it all back on - personally, my journey here is off facebook, its too much pressure i think.

Moving on! Italian was lovely last night, not just the food but the atmosphere. Had the chicken parmigiana with chips and salad, ate all the salad but not all the chips. Didn’t have a pudding but did have an onion ring to try as looked lovely, and they were!

     B – granola ss milk

L – chicken and sweetcorn soup / or a pot noodle

D – bp cheese and beans with pickles and salad (using up what is there)

Sounds like you had a good time klew and made pretty good choices; not sure how many syns the onion ring was but the Burger King ones are only 2 syns each so not too bad, suppose it depends on size really!  As long as you enjoyed your syns then it's worth it!  Well done on not having a pudding - that's where there are usually huge syns!

Agree with you about Facebook - I go on our group Facebook page but don't post on there, just read in case there are any announcements from the consultant mainly, although have been able to help people out with syn values from time to time (our consultant was very fond of saying "it's a book moment"!  Not very helpful when you're busy or can't lay your hands on your books immediately!
