Some lovely champagne moments to read on here.:)
I am glad that the medication I'm on is kicking in (I'm not so happy with the weight gain, though) oh well. I think I will start going for hour long walks again and actually use my pedometer daily so at least I'm being more active as it is making me feel more lethargic.
I went through my makeup drawer this morning and threw away a few things I never use. I also found a brand new lipstick I had forotten I bought which was nice! I moved all my lipsticks and lip balms to a box in the porch as I thought that would make more sense as I usually put my lipstick on as I leave the house.
I am dyeing my hair a chestnut colour as I have a great weekend coming up. A meal and the new James Bond film tomorrow and then a meal and a concert on Saturday. Not very MSE but it should be a lot of fun.

A lady in my gym class thought I was younger than her (she's about 35); I'm turning 50 this year!!

Well good morning my lovely friends.Lots of lovely bargains there Phoebe, and what a fabulous compliment Siebre. Bet that made you feel good. (I look and feel like an old Crone.....all set for Halloween.....😂🤣).Hope you are feeling better Wednesday and that the new meds are working. Pity about the weight gain.....I guess it's the lesser of two evils, hopefully your walking regime will help.Champagne moment......on Sunday I finally finished the outside work. (At least for now). Phew. It's been a marathon and truth to tell I'm both exhausted and in agony. But it's all done now and I have to say I am pleased with what I have accomplished. The front of the house definitely has more kerb appeal. A friend visited the other day and said it looked "impressive" and several neighbours have said the garden looks pretty. The back garden is really shaping nicely too. The painted fences and shed look much better. I can rest on my laurels a bit now - just a few final flourishes next Spring.
So now I can turn my attention to the inside but first I need to turn the spotlight on me. Made a start with a massage yesterday and as a bonus treated myself to a facial. I soooooo deserve it!!! Massages aren't always a champagne moment though - yesterday's was painful and I ended up with a splitting headache afterwards. But I must admit I do feel the benefit today. The bad news is I lost a crown off one of my teeth yesterday, so that's the next thing. I desperately need to get my teeth sorted - we are talking extensive (and expensive) treatment here and I have been putting it off for ages. However, I can't really put it off any longer. Time to get a grip.So now that's the plan for the winter..........
my mission (which I accept) is to declutter and beautify my house inside, Lose weight, get fit and get my teeth sorted. It feels like I have a huge mountain to climb....😂🤣. But a challenge is good right, it's good to set a target and have a plan. I shall work on my goals over the winter, ready to rise like a Phoenix in the spring......slim, fit and healthy, and (hopefully) with the house market ready.
Of course I aim to have plenty of champagne moments along the way. Starting with Bond on Sunday.Wednesday I shall be joining you on the walks.....although I won't be able to manage an hour. It would finish me off.I did think about joining a gym but daft as it sounds I am not fit enough. There is no way I could manage a full 45 minute exercise class or gym session. I have decided to start slowly, exercising at home, gradually building up. Hopefully with a view to joining a gym maybe February/March time. March 2nd would have been my husbands birthday.......I will set that as my target date.Operation Rejuvenate Me begins today. 😉8 -
@helensbiggestfan You can always join the gym session and just do the exercises you can do. My local WI has a gym session every week, and some exercises are no trouble at all (balance, coordination and flexibility), while others I can only do half (tummy muscles....). It's still great fun and we laugh a lot, because we all have similar problems keeping up.My champagne moments:On Friday, the local library had a spelling contest and I came third
. Belgium and The Netherlands used to have an annual televised spelling contest (Het Groot Dictee), which stopped a couple of years ago. The local Belgian libraries have started their own spelling contest, all at the same time, with the same text, and it's great fun! The text is not as convoluted as the text that was broadcast, which came from professional, acclaimed authors trying to outdo eachother in difficult and outdated words and phrases. Now, it's the winner of a national writing club who gets to write the text, and it's with words that are maybe unusual, but are regularly used in conversation. It's 15 lines, then 19 words where you have to choose the correct spelling from 2 options, and you have to make a 19 letter word with the result. We tied, so we finished with a spelling bee. I won a book
Then on Saturday dds and I attended a Ghanese wedding (a young man from our church and his bride). Our gift was €20 for the couple, and for that we got: a lively church service, an afternoon of wearing our fancy dresses, dd2 had the small role of handing the bride a bouquet on behalf of the sunday school, a small meal of Ghanese dishes, and some dancing (we waited for the couple to enter the reception hall, danced their entrance dance with them, and then left). We left around 16.30, they partied until midnight. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.595 -

This is my champagne moment - ok cost £10 but dogs and I had pure joy for the hour with no one else except OH around - I spend a lot of time in bed so getting out to anywhere is a good day but when
manage to get to the secure field and see the dogs so happy and have nice peace and quiet with lovely view I feel as if I have won the lottery.

Thanks, we have two Jack Russell's - littlies who bless them spend all the time in bed/on the bed. beside the bed with me - well one is always on the bed with me but other one sometimes likes her little bit of space so have blankets on the floor beside the bed for her (she won't use a dog bed but loves a nest of blankets) We are lucky that secure dog field opened during lockdown, farmer turner a field into it. What was great was the nearest one before that was nearly an hour away which we got to even less as I couldn't manage the journey. so, months could go between visits which is so unfair on the girls. This one is only 5-7 mins away so usually can go at least couple of times a month. I am forever hopefully we will get there more often and book every week but usually know within the cancellation period whether I can make it or not but a few times we have lost our money due to me being ' sure ' I will be fine. So, each time we do get there its wonderful and the girls of course enjoy running with such freedom we cannot let them have in the parks or other places nowadays - been attacked by bigger dogs a few times, not seriously, no injuries but shaken them and me up. The journey there is a joy as once we drive up the road, turn the corner and go under a bridge it's all countryside, farms all the way to this one. Used to walk all around there with living so near but sadly those days past as nowhere to park the car to get out and walk as roads very narrow. Still my best and trues champagne moments of my month usually for £10 a time - and worth every penny, even though have to budget carefully for it.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
