We were meant to have a weekend away to Kilkenny next week but alas the tot isn't sleeping, I'm knackered and we spent £500 on a mesh system in anticipation of full fibre being installed (we both work from home so decent internet is a worthwhile investment!)...so we aren't going and my birthday will instead consist of vegan kievs, lemon cake and alcohol free prosecco. Partaaayyy.

Some of my Irish family were from Kilkenny.:)

What vegan kievs are they? I'm vegan too.
My grandparents were from and moved back there, but I haven't been since my nanny died in 2018 (grandad died in 2002). It's a beautiful city with great craic on a night out. My DH loves it too, we talk about moving there but who knows if it'll happen.

They were the Tesco Plant Chef ones. We really like them but according to the website we are in the minority. I will concede that M&S are probably better texture. Either way a big treat to just have 'oven food' for supper. I've pre chopped/mixed Bolognese for tonight, just need to plug the slow cooker in. Bliss!

I have tried those ones, I love most of the Plant Chef range, the Wicked Kitchen stuff is good too. I bought my new friends some WK cupcakes the other week and they liked them.

@MichelleG123 "I guess I will start with this week's purchases, my boots were 2 for £30 delivered but they actually don't fit so I am sending them back, oh well!".
Nonono, that should end with "well done, me!"

Yesterday, lovely weather, husband had to check on a truck he is exporting through the Port of Antwerp (we're in Belgium; it's a 45min drive), so we put dds in the car, drove there, checked the truck, then drove a little further sightseeing the port, and parked at the tinytiny fort-city of Lillo, where we walked and saw all the streets and houses in about 10 minutes  Lovely view of the river with the cargo ships and the cargo ports. DDs went wild in a small playground, we picknicked on biscuits and orange juice I had brought along, and then went back home. (I was willing to buy them an icecream, but there wasn't any for sale!)
