Good Mornjng my lovely friends.Well not many champagne moments alas. I have a lurgy and am feeling "proper poorly" as we say round my neck of the woods. Had to postpone my covid booster jab which was scheduled for Saturday. Never mind, it will pass in its own good time. In the meantime I am just pottering about, some gentle decluttering when I feel up to it. When I feel tired I just snuggle up on the sofa with Netflix and ice cream (the ice cream being purely medicinal to soothe my throat 😅😂).The ymca came and took away some furniture and a couple of large items the other day so now it's just the small stuff. I will go through everything over the next few weeks.Other than that not much happening. Hope you are all well and managing to enjoy a few champagne moments.6

LL - ice cream is probably very good to soothe your sore throat.
What are you watching on Netflix? We just got Netflix back after cancelling it after lockdown. Now the nights are drawing in I thought we might need it again.
My champagne moments have been just spending time at home relaxing after going out the past few months. I've been getting into podcasts. I listened to the first series of the true crime podcast Serial and it was fascinating. There are lots of free podcasts on Amazon Prime and I binged a couple of series from there as well.
I have been doing some major decluttering of my clothes and I will take them to the chazzer today or tomorrow. It is a glorious day here, chilly, but sunny and bright. I love days like this in autumn. I will at least go out for a walk after my Superdrug delivery arrives today.
I booked a routine blood test for Thursday. I asked the nurse on the phone when I will be getting my third Covid booster and he said I should be contacted next month. I said I did get a text about booking it but I assumed that was a mistake as it hasn't been 6 months since the second jab.
I have some leftover HM coconut sweet potato soup for lunch when I get back and I have another book to read this afternoon. Ruth Ware - The Woman in Cabin 10. I read One by One yesterday by the same author. I really liked it so I hope this one is good too.

I have been watching a few historical drama type things. A series about the Medicis and just finished the Last Czars. Also The Bodyguard (the TV series) and Shetland. I used to visit the Orkneys quite regularly, never been to Shetland. Hopefully one day, scenery looks lovely.I might try and give Peaky Blinders a go. I've also discovered there's a channel that shows old movies around 4 pm. I think it's called Great Movies Classic. I watched To Sir With Love and Guess Whose Coming to Dinner. Both starring Sidney Poitier and I guess they both class as "historical" films now. They were groundbreaking in their day and really reflect how radically and rapid life changed in the 60s.It wasnt just British music and fashion that led the world in the 60s, film also played a huge part in that revolution and some of the films to come out of Britain at the time were groundbreaking and revolutionary, taking on themes of class, race, gender, sexuality.Makes me feel old to think that the "revolutionary"music, fashion and movies of my youth have now entered the ranks of "timeless classics" 😂🤣.7

My Champagne moments yesterday were going to the discussion group at Blackfriars Settlement for an hour and 30 minutes. It was good to talk and to listen to the other members of the group.
Yesterday evening I went to an event at Brixton library which was very informative and engaging.
Today my daughter, my son and I played the card game 'Go Fish' followed by a few games of Heads Up, which is like playing charades but with the use of a smartphone. We had so much fun together and we were all laughing out loud together. Simple pleasures, but it is difficult to adequately express how much joy it gives me to have these kinds of interactions with my adult children.
I won £25 on one of my premium bonds this month.8 -
Today’s Champagne moments were going to the Van Gogh Immersive experience in London with my sister and then sitting on a bench in the sun tucking into takeaway box of duck and chips

Hi ladies,
Hope you are all well. So last week we went to a comedy night at a local venue, it was only £8 a ticket and about £2.50 for an drink, great night and a bargain. My brother in law who we went with only agreed to come if we were sitting at the back so I booked tickets near the back but when we got there it was all changed around and we were very first row in the middle! The comedians actually left us alone so it was fine
I have been trying to make an effort to fill up my social calender so also booked a Xmas craft fayre at a local fancy venue with a friend, £7 a ticket.
Also booked a day trip to Leeds with my sister for some Xmas shopping and a trip to the local dog track where we have paid for a 3 course meal, welcome.drink etc with my dad and sister, my dad will love it. I think it was about £23 but it's near Xmas so I don't think that's bad for a sit down 3 course xmas meal with drink.
Bargainwise, I've always wanted some of the classic addidas leggings but they are usually £30-35 which I won't pay but I received an email from JD Willams saying I had £10 to spend as a gift and the leggings were half price at £15.50 so I got them for £5.50!
I also bought a dress but it was £42 so not much of a bargain! 😄
I've has 2 children's parties this weekend, I bought books as the pressies ( I just love books), very good quality ones from TKMax for about 6/7 pounds.
Off to my mother in laws for panacilty and tigerbread ( like corned beef hash) today, im no chef so I love it when she makes us meals! 😍
Hope you have had a fab weekend x8 -
Michelle what I great bargain with your leggings. I love it when the stars align like that.
My champagne moment was going to IKEA and having a sausage bap for £1 and a free cuppa.3 -
Chanie you can't go wrong for £1!
Well I have had an eventful few days. My little boy who is 6 had to go to hospital for 2 nights with a bad chest, struggling to breathe and low oxygen, the poor thing.
I'm not good with hospitals at all, many times I have cried just going to see the doctor and walking into a hospital, I think I have health anxiety around illness and deathbut I was OK, just concentrating on the little one.
Hes out now with lots of inhalers and medicine so should be back to normal soon. Xx
