My Champagne moment on Tuesday evening I used a Groupon at Leilani restaurant for my son and I to have a steak and chips meal with a cocktail each. The Groupon only cost me £16.80 for food and the cocktails that would have cost me £38.90 so I saved £22.10
The food and cocktails were delicious
I stayed for Karaoke and had a very enjoyable evening.

My Champagne moment yesterday was going to visit my elder daughter, her husband, My grandson, his partner, my Great grandson and my 2 granddaughters in Andover. I had such a good time with all of them6

This week, I have been spending on behalf of my grandson and his partner. I bought them an Indesit 8kg condenser, tumble dryer, a Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner and some kitchen utensils, crockery and tea towels from Ikea and managed to get all of the items at very good prices. I also got £40 off the Dyson with a code.
My grandson and his partner could not stop saying thank you to me, but I was glad to help them settle into their new council house and be more comfortable in the future.7 -

sugarbaby how kind of you, I bet they were thrilled.
We are a young family and I was saying today to my husband that sometimes things might seem boring and serious but we will be so glad at how prudent we've been when we can bless our children and grandchildren with help when they need it!
I need a champagne moment. This thread has inspired me, so I'm going to do a face mask and paint my toenails tonight (if I can reach around baby bump!)...but first DH and I will do the kitchen.
Actually, one champagne moment was watching The Fugees on telly earlier by accident....it made me strangely emotional (I'm only 30 so a bit before my time). Lauryn Hill looked totally fierce in her red dress.6 -
Good evening my lovely friends.Sorry I have been awol. Have had problems with my wifi.Hello Mandy. Definitely have a champagne moment and pamper yourself. When is your baby due.I am having a lovely champagne moment watching Strictly whilst catching up with you all. I love the frocks and all the razzamattaz.
I have had the busiest week..... builder here. Unfortunately the roof needed more work than anticipated (more expensive of course). But hey it had to be done. Outside work nearly done now and I have to say it's all looking pretty good. I have planted more trees and shrubs too. Im shattered now, so having a day off tomorrow. DS2 is hosting lunch for me. The house is a tip but it can wait.I agree sugar baby.....how kind of you to help set up your grandson and his partner in his new home.7 -
That's a lovely thing to have done for your grandson and his family, Sugarbaby 😄😄😄
My recent champagne moments included going to a shop for the first time in three weeks over the weekend 😎
Decided to start on the Christmas shopping so we made the effort to drive over to Homesense where we picked up a few things for three year old DGD, including a doll (RRP £45, their price £25 😉). Also found some more framed bird prints for the hall gallery wall and a light up Halloween tree, trimmed with cute little bats.....
Also popped into The Range to get art supplies and found some inexpensive (£4 each) picture frames for six vintage Audobon prints we purchased for the princely sum of £1 each at a fleamarket (back when they were still being held here 🙄) in 2019. The Range isn't somewhere I'd normally buy stuff for the home, so was pleasantly surprised at finding those frames!
On the house-front, we're making steady progress on the alterations to the snug (have been working on this since the weather became rather changeable, rendering rockery removal less appealing, lol!) and have - almost - completely demolished the wall between snug and the extension built by a previous owner 😃
We've uncovered a wonderful old 3m+ timber lintel that dates from when the mill used to have horse-drawn carts coming in at the rear....it's beautiful, but sadly not structurally sound enough these days, so will have something more modern (RSJs) fitted beneath....
The acrows are in place, currently holding everything above up 😉
It's been slow-ish going though, not least because of the make-up of the 75cm thick (!!!) wall - a mix of stone, brick and rubble. It's hideously messy and disruptive, but is going to be a massive improvement when finished! Just need to make a decision on the fenestration now!
Yet again I'm so thankful that DH is able to do these things and that we're not having to pay somebody else 😃Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
