what a beautiful quilt Mrs P! it's so lovely. You all sound busy. I'm working but finished staining my fence panels, shed and gate. 16 panels in all. I reckon that it would cost a fortune to pay someone. They do need re-doing though after the winter. Need to finish cleaning the decking, then oil it again. Rockery to tidy , then later planting to do. Been a bit nervous due to the rat the neighbours been seeing, running under her back gate then behind her conservatory into mine. I reckon its under the decking. Champagne moment was a nice 20 min walk with my Daughters 2 dogs

Mrs Porridge your quilt is absolutely beautiful
. All the work that you will put into it, will be worth it, once you have finished it, if it looks so beautiful unfinished. I really admire your handiwork.

LL, sorry I missed your toast on 2nd March for your husband, I had a toast on 4th March for my dad who would have been 94 that day but died at just over 75. My dad gave me my love of gardening so I bought £60 worth of new plants for a new garden project. But on a lemonade budget they cost me £10 thanks to a survey payout of £50. My birthday was 6th March so the other £10 was a present to myself. Take care, I think you have an amazing outlook on life and wish you all the best in your new venture

Hi Paspatur
Lovely to hear from you.
Don't worry about missing the toast. Glad you toasted your dad, and what a lovely way to commemorate him.Wishing you a belated happy birthday 🎂💐. And it's great that you treated yourself too, with the left over money,
Thanks for your good wishes, that's very kind.9 -
Hi Girlies
Have finally been out today, for my covid jab .I booked it online, got an appointment back, yet when I got there, I wasn't on the list! I stood my ground , n finally got it done, but what a shambles 🙄
Went to Aldi afterwards, for the first time in a year, n was reminded at how cheap it is!!
Love that quilt MRS P ❤❤"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I challenge myself and all of you ladies to talk kindly to ourselves for the next 30 days. I am supercritical when I make mistakes completely forgetting that to 'err is human'. I would never speak negatively to another person the way I speak to myself in a hyper critical way, so I am going to be as forgiving and understanding of my mistakes for the next 30 days. as I would be if someone else made the same mistakes and see if I can really change my inner narrative so that it is far more positive.
Positive thought for today:
Believe that you are moving in the right direction. Follow your feet and trust that you are choosing the best path (Katie Piper)8 -
I will definitely try that SUGAR , as I'm very self critical!
Love that quote from Katie Piper. She is such an inspiration. I read her autobiography years ago, n it was brill x"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I'm loving these positive thoughts, sugarbaby 😊
I was feeling very positive till reading last night that the Welsh first minister has had a change of heart over the easing of lockdown here.
Instead of reopening non-essential retail including garden centres/plant nurseries (the thing we were most looking forward to!) on Monday as he'd originally hinted, he has deferred garden centre opening till 22nd March ☹️ and non-essential shops to 12th April same as England. Meanwhile, hairdressers can reopen on Monday which is of no interest to me as I last used one in 1994 when I was 27, lol!
More annoyingly for independent retailers, the blooming supermarkets are allowed to start selling non-essential items before those smaller shops can.....grrrr!
Anyway, in an attempt to cheer myself up, I had a bit of a champagne moment this morning..... I treated myself to an all-weather rattan egg chair for the garden from Been and Queued 🙄😊❤️
It's not coming till 23rd March, so hopefully - trying to feel positive, lol - we'll have better weather by then 😉
