Love that nmm! Glad you had a nice day :)
I spoke to DDad on video call last night. Apart from having a lost a little weight due to being drip fed for a few days, he is doing really well. He has a nice neatly stitched scar - they obviously have good sewing skills!
We saw West S!de Story last night - was dreading it being singing all the way through, so pleasantly surprised when it did have some actual dialog! DH struggled a bit from 30 minutes in, but overall I enjoyed it. Great dancing scenes - SCD on steroids!
DH out at a Christmas lunch today, so I will make a start on PL Italy after work whilst simultaneously catching up on SCD from the weekend. Hope DH doesn't come back too early lol!
    Have a good day all,

  • Sounds like you had a fabulous birthday @nmm

Glad DDad is doing well @Coxy11 must be such a relief for you.

I am umming and ahhing about West Side Story. I absolutely adore the original film and I’m nervous about this one ruining it.

DS2 tested positive on the lateral flow test yesterday so we are now waiting on the results from the other test now 🙄. We’re due to go up country to visit the parents for Christmas and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to As we haven’t seen any family for two years now.

I’m getting on with a table runner for my mum at the moment. Hoping I have enough material to get to the end

Oh FFF - so sorry to hear about DS2 - let's hope all okay when he has the PCR as a lot of false positives out there. Hope it doesn't ruin Christmas for you. The table runner looks amazing - love the fabrics you're using.
I've not see the original WSS film so had nothing to compare it to. Just know that I loathed Evita and it's 2 hours of my life I'm never getting back!
Didn't sort threads out last night as watched SCD and then binged a couple of episodes of Suits - I'm on series 3 and now committed - DH not interested in seeing it so have to watch it when he's out.
Tonight is a free night - so will sort out next project then :)
    Have a good day all,

Just a quick one from me to say I've started PL Italy and have stitched the grand total of 10 crosses! Eyes not up to it, as I was sitting on the sofa near the TV instead of my usual corner seat away from said TV and therefore not using my lamp. Might do a bit more later - have booster at lunchtime so depends on how I feel.
    Have a good day everyone

FFF, that's great, fingers crossed you have enough material. i hope the tests are negative so you can enjoy your christmas plans.

I managed to get all my cross stitch pictures up on the walls, but realised there's not much space left. Thinking i might turn the junction into a cushion but i got rid of my sewing machine, my hand stitching is shocking, lol. Been finishing off some UFO crochet projects, meet Wonky Bear.

Hi FFF, hope your DS2 tested negative. I love the colours in the runner, a lovely way to use up scraps. I will keep everything crossed you get to see family in person.
I’ve been hiding away from the world so I can drive to N. Wales tomorrow to pick up my DMum. She might end up staying longer but if I tell her that she’ll insist I shouldn’t come! Nmm I love wonky bear. Does he have a home? Wish I was nearer and I’d happily lend you one of my machines to turn the junction into a cushion.
Coxy so glad DD is continuing to improve. I’ve probably stitched a similar amount of stitches on Dublin.  :D
TC all I’ll try and pop in when I’m back in Norfolk and survived several hours on the M6 with my mum!

Charly, i wish you were nearer i'd let you do it for me, haha, thinking of turning a few into cushions now.

I finished my purple gonk in time for christmas :)  Also made one for my friend. The beard is the hardest part, but so cute.

Merry Christmas everyone! Love the gonks nmm 😊
We’ve had family here today and have just tidied everything away. Asked everyone to take an LFT before coming. Quiet day tomorrow with just the 5 of us.
I’ll start a 2022 thread next week. Have a think about what you’d like to achieve next year. No pressure lol!

  • Nmm I’d happily stitch it for you.
I love the gonks, sorry but especially the beards and the noses. The beards look like they’ve been crimped with 80’s crimping irons.
Picked my mum up, A14, M6 and M56 all behaved themselves. Seen my DD and partner, DS and GF at their flat in Norwich for a festive curry, cooked in a slow cooker, and an exchange of gifts. First time my two have seen their nanny in two years or more. Lovely evening, made my Christmas already.
Happy Christmas all, looking forward to sharing your company and a coffee in the NY when I should be well in line for a TaDa x x x

Merry Christmas Everyone, old members and new :)  Coxy & Charly glad you both had some good family time already, have a wonderful day and i hope you get lots of stitchy presents or time to do some.

Charly, the beards are made by making a big loop stitch, cutting in half then unravelling the wool. I might take you up on the stitching offer, thanks.
