Old Style Weight Loss 2021 - Quarter 1
Comments

Brunch - sausage, bacon, black pudding, 1 egg, tomato and mushrooms
Tea - if I can stir myself, might do the BSD veg bake with halloumi
Will weigh tomorrow.
ETA - just tried on my new (EBay) jeans and they fit - a size 14. This is the smallest size trouser I can ever get into because I’m built like a bungalow - big hips, massive shoulders and man sized hands, feet and head!7 -
Thanks for the feedback SIRENS. That'll be one thing less that I need to try. I like marmite but I can put it on my own bread roll/toast. I've stayed the same weight since I've been able to eat again. I blame the family breavement which has left both my sister and I with some very mixed emotions. We won't be able to attend the funeral for my dad but his partner has said that she will keep his ashes for us to dispose of however we see fit. I am still helping my best friend sort out his sister's house ready for it to be sold. That's a job and a half. I'm making a packed lunch for us both every day which is at least helping me to eat in a healthy way.
My son (the House Troll) has said that he wants to lose weight too. He has sensory issues so his meal choices are a bit interesting - bring on the stress.....How do you make healthy meals for someone who likes bread, cheese, ham, pasta and not much else?
In other news, my back is starting to hurt again despite losing so much weight. I've downloaded the couch to 5k app again and from the 1st of April will be doing it from the start for the third time. I've damaged the ligaments in my knee but 14 months on it's no better so I'm thinking that giving up running isn't helping and I may as well get on wth it.
Take care all of you7 -
Sorry to hear about your dad Cranky. Good luck on working out a menu plan for the HT can you sneak veg into pasta sauces or meatballs?
Well done on the reported losses 👏👏 Frith there are very few things as satisfying as fitting into smaller jeans especially if it's a size you haven't seen for awhile 😁
I think I'll give the marmite hot cross buns a miss, although I must pick up some for the weekend I haven't had any yet this year. I may see if I can get a old fashion kind from the artisan baker, not cheap but a taste of my childhood 🙂 when we were growing up the village bakery would only sell them Good Fridayand would open just to sell them, all preordered and moth lives up to them 🙂
I wouldn't list my food but will admit to making a brioche bread and butter pudding 😬😋
have a good week all
Just confirming as it's the end of the challenge that people still want me to run the next challenge?Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -

Morning Everyone,
I've been a little lax at posting, but I have still been keeping up with all of your endeavours - and I've even made it to the end of the quarter relatively on track, ready to start the next (usually a month on a diet, two months off sort of person). It's my last weigh in an an additional - 6.5lb loss since I last posted. Another Yes from me to running it again please Brambling - and thank you!

Yes! Me too please Brambling. I'm not expecting to lose much in the next challenge, but the odd ounces here and there still add up. Would you put me down for a titchy 4lb in the next challenge please?
Thank you lovely Brambling. xI believe that friends are quiet angels

An STS for me, went way off the rails in the middle of last week.
I'll go for 5lb off in the next challenge; if Brambling is happy to carry on, that's fine by me!‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Cranky So sorry to hear about your dad and good luck with finding diet-friendly food for the HT
Frith Huge congratulations on the smaller jeans, I vaguely remember how satisfying a feeling it is
Brambling Despite the fact that I've done appallingly this challenge (I'm definitely trying to focus on Ditty's pounds not gained), yes please to running a new one. I'm also hoping that better weather and the shock of trying on some of my summer dresses will spur me on for the next quarter. I'll go for 14lb again this time but anything better than a STS will be a bonus.
Congratulations for all of the losses and STS's and commiserations for any gains.
I'm still being a grumpy so and so because my back's taking ages to get better (okay, it's only 2 and a bit weeks but I never was the most patient of patients). I know that the extra weight I'm carrying isn't helping me at all but I just can't get a grip, keep eating all of the wrong things - Sirens, I agree that the marmite hot cross buns aren't worth the bother. The chocolate ones on the other hand... - and can't even do any exercise to balance it out a bit. I've treated myself to a standing desk so hopefully not sitting for long periods will ease some of my issues and I'm ever hopeful that dancing along to the radio while I work will shift a calorie or two.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx8 -
Yes please for another challenge Brambling, I still have a way to go, but just a couple of pounds off losing 6st now thanks to these threads 💓 I've gone from a 22/24 to a 16
please put me down for 14lb again thanks xx
Thanks for the feedback on the marmite hot cross buns, I keep looking at them in there so must try them. The Strawberry and cream ones are a bit different in Sains.
Final weigh in for this challenge is a 1.5lb loss please, thank you. Ending this challenge 13st 6.5 xx
Well done in everyone's losses this challenge 🌟9
