Today I'm wearing - a hat! A hat made from old shirt collars & cuffs, to be precise. Just to see if it could be done - and it can!
Please excuse daft expression - the iPad, which I was trying to use one-handed whilst restraining a rather large & clumsy cat, was threatening to leap into the pond!2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.5 -

Today I wore my match clothes to go to the footy
, a pair of leggings from m+s at least 20 years old, a t shirt at least 15 years old, fleece jacket 10 years old and socks 5 years old. The leggings and t shirt are only worn to the match. I was such a happy bunny

(Colour me green with envy. While I managed to see Chelsea play twice during Lockdown - FA Cup Final and one of the early test games when they only let in 2,000 people - we couldn’t go to the first home game because of picking up my MIL in Somerset. In the end, it made no difference because our tickets for the match were cancelled by Chelsea because they spent the summer replacing seating and hadn’t finished our section!)

@PipneyJane, yes the atmosphere was really good, all my neighbours were back and my nephew managed to make the trip up as he is still on furlough, he is in the same stand a short distance away. I use the soccer bus to get to the ground and it was also lovely to see the usual bus ticket checker who remembered me and greeted me with a big smile behind his mask, isn't it amazing how even when wearing a mask we can still tell when someone is smiling. There was a bit of stress as they have introduced a new ticket system using NFT, I am a bit technology challenged, but I had downloaded it and been up to the groung to test it and it worked no problem. Great result as Burnley are a tall physical team and often cause us major problems but I think we were all just so glad to be back the result was almost not important, just great to see everyone walking up to the ground with all their friends and family and hearing all the usual footy chat going on around me.
I hope they sort your seats out soon Pip, we were full apart from a few seats around the dugout as they have been deemed too close to the players by the FA. Apparently there is an announcement expected from the FA in the next couple of weeks about numbers of fans in the ground and a track and trace type thing. I think it is something to do with knowing exactly who is in the ground. Good luck with that one FA
Sorry, completely off topic so will stop rambling

Hi all, well I got my knitting head on last night, only managed about 30 very small rows on the shawl I am making for my sister's birthday but I felt good getting on with it

@thriftwizard, the skirt is coming along nicely - I got tangled up with the cream cotton lining pulling oddly, but unpicked round the centre-front button-fly and added a broad band of some linen-blend floral suff I had spare, and sewed the lining back down onto that, and it's all behaving...
Just the hem to do and I'll be wearing it, although the needlecord long-seam raw-edges need bound eventually. I can do those, as and when of a weekend watching a film, after it's in wear, though.

That skirt looks lovely, @Laura_Elsewhere.
@thriftwizard - your story about "skirt fabric" does not surprise me. My bet is that she hadn't a clue what she was talking about and, rather than admit to her ignorance, decided to be blustery and bossy. (Reminds me of a certain politician...)
@PollyWollyDoodle congratulations on converting your friend's son.
After weeks of wearing jeans and a tee-shirt, I got dressed up on Sunday. We were invited out for dinner on the Bustronome (a converted double-decker, which is a restaurant upstairs and kitchen, etc, downstairs). It was a party organised by a friend to celebrate her partner's birthday. Yes, we were thoroughly spoiled. And yes, I am in shellshock by the price, particularly as she paid for all 11 of us! I am glad I didn't look beforehand at the price.
We were quite a casually dressed party. (DH wore cargo shorts and a polo-shirt and looked quite at home). I wore the following:- Navy blue knit summer dress bought in Melbourne in 1996. It's overprinted with a white sprig pattern. This dress is virtually indestructible and always looks smart.
- A "Next Tailoring" tweed jacket, woven in shades of blue, that cost me £7.50 last October in a charity shop not far from here. Although it didn't have tags or the spare buttons, I don't believe it had ever been worn. I would have sworn I'd posted about it before, because it's the jacket I wore on my first visit to our new offices, but I can't find the post. (Not the same place as "head office".)
- A pair of navy blue, wedge heeled sandals from Timberland which must be at least 7 years old. They're my dressy sandals so don't get worn much.
