@killerpeaty I Think I shall now rename my aesthetic as 'demented toddler'. It has been 'Bridge Troll Creature' for some time with hues of sludge and very little care or consideration for contoured make up and matching socks, or matching anything for that matter. Most worn item being an oversized handknitted cardigan, about 4 sizes minimum too big and with some accidentally artistically placed gloss paint splodges down the front of one side. Charity shop purchase, with paint added by myself but leaning against freshly painted door frame....
Perhaps I shall add a purple hat....Wealth is not measured by currency8 -
Omg!! Charity shop!!!! I bought a scarf!!! Do I need a scarf??? Of course I don't!!! But ok I admit it - scarves are my kryptonite. These don't do it justice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. @CAFCGirl please do! We must add to our ranks, matched socks must be abolished!
Got some lovely, looks like they've worn twice maximum hotter shoes £4.50, a m&s thermal top £3.75, a Laura Ashley pink top £3.25 and a card game for £0.99.8 -
No no NO!!! Sock MUST be matched!!! That's why I tend to buy 5 pairs at a time so that it's easier to ensure they are matched exactly! Bought a pack of socks from M&S a few years back thinking it was 3 pairs of black but they turned out to be 1 pair each of black, very dark blue and dark gray. I had to buy a second pack and also put a little bright blue stitch on the blue socks so I wouldn't confuse them with the black ones when getting dressed while half asleep.
I also tend to match my tops to the colour of hanger and clothespins as well. Very OCD of a very minor kind!!!
That said I love my summer outfit of purple jeans, lime green top, iris blue cardi and pink sandals - but I do have a lovely silk scarf with all those colours that ties it all together.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Well I must confess, I don't really do mismatched socks because I can't abide them feeling different in the toes and cuffs from different manufacturers, but I do enjoy a funky patterned pair. Current favourites are ones that look like foxes.
Shall now be on the hunt for a purple hat or something of equal 'crazy funky lady' attire.Wealth is not measured by currency9 -
More purchases to report with a happy heart.
Yorkshire Cancer shop locally, overloaded with books so currently priced at 4 for £1. My budget is £1 per book so I've come away with 16 for what I'd budget for 4. I would have got more but I could only carry 16 safely back home.
I anticipate another visit soon though. Particularly lovely volunteers in the bric-a-brac section too which always warms my soul.Wealth is not measured by currency9 -
I really needed the 'buzz' of a charity shop find today after being away in The Lakes for a week and mostly away from such delights. Only came across one chazza whilst away and that was Oxfam in Ambleside. Anyhoo, back on home territory my initial forays unearthed zilch today but in the last shop, Sue Ryder, I went a bit potty I think. They had a Reiss blouse in gold with an abstract multi coloured pattern - long length with splits at the side and dingly dangly bits that tie in a bow at the neck should you be so inclined. BNWT and originally priced at £140 - Sue Ryder price £15. I could not resist tho why on earth anyone would pay £140 for a blouse made of polyester is beyond me!!! Found a pic from when it was being sold in John Lewis....will style it similarly but replace the strappy sandals with black ankle boots or even biker boots.

That’s very pretty Miro, except I’m not so sure about the dingly dangly bits. Knowing me, I’d dingly dangle them into the gravy or something !
I had a quick trawl around a few chazzas in a neighbouring town yesterday, but nothing much caught my eye. I did buy a couple of tops - only M&S Per Una ones, but they’ll be great for the office now that we are planning a part time return to onsite working next month. One is a heavyweight grey and black leaf pattern long sleeved tunic thingy, the other a bubble hem three quarter length sleeve top in the most gorgeous plum shade.9 -
The blouse is lovely! Think it would look great with biker boots.
Got a teddy bear jumper from John Lewis for £5.50 which is sooooo warm and so joyous. Looked at the premium rail, there was a shirt for £70. That's not a typo. Seventy. It was something like Armani, but I was a bit shocked.
Nearly bought some mint velvet trousers for £9 which were lovely. But decided I might not wear them.8 -
saw three of the Amanda Owen Sheperdess books. I have read the first, got the next 2 for 50p each
