Miró said:Know just what you mean about this shop!! Last week I spotted what I thought might be a Liberty shawl/wrap thingy in the clothes bit.....lovely muted green tones in a paisley pattern. Was soooo disappointed to find it had a series of small holes all down the length of it. Couldn't decide if it was a manufacturing fault or moths!! Didn't want to risk bringing it home just in case but ooooh I could have done so much with it.....

The old Barnados branch that shut down here over the winter lockdown is now the new home of our favourite family cafe (they were slightly further out from the very centre of the town, now right in the middle, closer to out house as well) and my kids have delighted in having a lunch in there after nursery recently.
Kind of gutted they now have a decent baby changing space in the toilet, after my two are both out of nappies!!
Have recently picked up lots of nice bits for the kids, especially some M&S, NEXT and TU bits, all like 3 for a £1 etc and I found a massive haul of capri length jeggings and leggings in my size for summer options, all like £2 a pair., three are from NEXT.
Donated some clothes, toys and my buggy today, I cried at that. Had it up for sale for just £30 on Facebook for months, no one interested at all as it's not pristine, perfectly good, just, not perfect. But ideal as an extra for at grandparents house etc?

Went out to get pies, as you do, & spotted a canary yellow lid on a grey pot & a bit of my hindbrain went "Ding!". Denby Dovedale (bottom left p76, Pollycat) coffeepot & absolutely perfect. Scroll basestamp so between 1950 & 1975 but quite possibly older than me.
We are about to launch into clearing a storage room, after which I will be cs shopping for welsh dressers, so I can display a few pieces & conceal the rest. Husband has suggested Oh-so-nonchalantly that I might sell a few bits that aren't lovely to fund this, & I'm thinking that counts as offering to pack...5 -
Popped into my favourite BHF shop and snapped up four clear glass small pasta bowls, £2, which will make lovely light prep bowls and two Le Parfait super 500ml clip top preserve jars both with new seal rings for £3.50 each.
@Lucy5781 - I know just how you feel about the baby changing facilities. I'm green with envy at those pull down units mounted on walls nowadays which I only encountered in motorway service stations in the early 90s but keep reminding myself that I did not find my mother recalling the difficulties of terry nappies and no dryer at all entertaining!
@DfV - I quite agree with your belief that your OH has offered to pack and suggest that you take the proverbial mile and get a few things that have been niggling away at you done while he's in a helpful mode. After all it's a kindness to give someone who's feeling restless a task or two; they get to spark joy and you get the pleasure of seeing them swallow a few frogs.

Phoned ahead to cancer research & while I had full permission to donate 8 banana boxes of books, the staff on the floor completing gift aid stickers were much less certain.
They may not get the (at least) three crates of Christmas decorations if they’re going to be that uncoordinated…7 -

I have 2 of these but decorated in leaves.I'm thinking of listing them on eBay then maybe donating them to our hospice shop if no takers, I've had the enjoyment of them for 20 years. My collection of Mother-in-law's-tongue plants is growing (they are very fecund at the moment) and I need the windowsill space.DigForVictory said:Phoned ahead to cancer research & while I had full permission to donate 8 banana boxes of books, the staff on the floor completing gift aid stickers were much less certain.

Very annoying. No bargains to report recently despite upping my attempts, I'm getting more used to popping in and out of shops.A big pile to donate when I next go to the hospice shop.

Also saw a white t shirt (something I’m always on the lookout for) which turned out to be Primark BNWT. Primark price £2.80 CS price £3. Howay as we say in the NE.6
