For a quid I'd definitely have given it a whirl. Maybe even just kept a look out for the "clean 4 for the price of 3" etc offers if I was a bit concerned about the handwash.

goldfinches said:Couldn't pass my favourite BHF shop yesterday morning, even though I was loaded down with supermarket shopping, and snapped up a wire scoop, £1, which I plan to use for falafels and a lovely M*rks top which had been reduced to half its marked price so cost £2.49, result.
Gorgeous top!

I was starting to feel concerned that my CS powers were waning after leaving many a CS empty handed of late.
However this afternoon I popped into on of the local hospice branches and discovered a pair of BNWT Next silver brogues for £7 and a VGC pair of Red or Dead black patents with a square toe and ribbon laces (see pic) for £5. Whilstweighing up the dilemma of which ones to buy I saw a sign saying “Shoes and bags all half price”. So I bought them both!
Good things come those who wait.

I'm still shielding so my chazzing is online. Just bought several books on low carb/keto from Oxfam.5

Rosa_Damascena said:Chazzers hate stuff being dumped on their doorsteps as technically that is fly tipping. If worried about environmental factors would probably have taken it for safekeeping and shoved a note through the door with my phone number. Then take it back to the chazzer and agree a price. If its too high you can always walk away.
If a note isn't a possibility then perhaps call the chazzer and leave a message on the answerphone / first thing on Monday morning?
Recent finds include a medium sized lead crystal vase, (another!) with a very intricate pattern cut into it and very, very heavy for £2 35, also got a long necklace of pink glass beads on a gold chain for £1...both from the community chazza. Then from the St Gemma's Hospice clearance outlet I found an M & S shift dress in navy with a block pattern at the top in white and lavender priced at 99p and it's brand new with the original price ticket still attached of £39.50. Finally I got a white silky long sleeved top with a pleated, foldy cross over thing going on at the front, by Whimsy(?) for £3.49.5 -
I'm enjoying reading everyone's chazzer finds, but I have come to accept that my penchant for buying stuff that is useful and excellent value but ultimately rarely used has got to stop. I am surrounded by stuff but didn't realise quite how much until I had to decant my living areas and kitchen.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
My best find this week was two large pie dishes, one black with polka dots and one red with polka dots at £2 each and they were Spode and like new. I bought both so will be keeping one and putting the other on eBay as they are worth quite good money. Emmaus is such a good shop and it doesn’t charge silly prices like so many others. I’m just kicking myself now that I didn’t buy a framed picture that I liked in another shop. I should learn by now that if I go back again to look at something I should buy it5

Having done the rounds of furniture chazzers in our area - and a bit beyond - looking for a sofa for the conservatory, we then went back to the nearest and the first one we went in and bought a cream fabric DFS sofa for £120 including delivery. It is absolutely pristine, looks barely - if at all - sat on and will be delivered today. Stunning find. Am going to persuade DS to turf out his clothes drawers today and take a pile in to an air ambulance shop tomorrow. Am sure to have a browse..I wanna be in the room where it happens4

Today's exercise jaunt to a couple of local charity shops saw me return home with a couple of jackets. In the big CRUK clearance store I found an Austin Reed, black cashmere & wool mix 3/4 jacket with gold military stylee buttons for £3. From the Samaritans I got an M & S, pure linen, oversized, lined jacket in a colour they describe as 'flax'. Doesn't look as if it has ever been worn and I'm sure I saw it on sale in M & S recently at £65....chazza price £6.
