Great to read what everyone has been up to. Today I had a big clear out and took lots of bags of donations to one of our 'warehouse'-style charity shops. It's an amazing place - supports a local wildlife reserve, and they price everything at abut £2. I didn't spy anything I wanted there, but then moved onto a warehouse hospice charity in the same industrial park (I must say it is very nice not to have to lug bags of donations too far - these out-of-town shops have excellent parking).
The hospice shop has a 'designer' section and there I spied a pair of blue brogues that set my senses tingling. First off, they are a 5 and a half, which as well as conveniently being my size, made me immediately think 'quality', based on my new theory that for adults half sizes are only to be found in decent-ish brands. They are a brand called Waldlaufer - which apparently is a brand of German 'orthopedic' shoes! All I can say is I can't wait to be in need of them as they are very nice, and pricey: https://waldlaufer.com/
Am chuffed with these shoes - they were £5 and smart but quirky. Midnight blue with a subtle shimmer. Will chuck them on Insta in a bit if anyone wants a nosy. They have the most comfy soles!
The 'designer' sorter must have been asleep on the job when my next find arrived - a light blue 100% extra fine cotton by Massimo Dutti, with tan faux patches on the elbows. I say this not because I am actually a snob about these things (well, only a bit), but because they class Next, Topshop and Zara as 'designer' in this shop, so old Massimo certainly was mis-priced as he was a bargainous £2. A great find for this time of year as it is such lovely thin, fine cotton.
and finally a shocking pink vest top, BNWT, which comes to me all the way from Australia: https://fellahamilton.com.au/hedrena_landing
The top is merino wool, and a large, so it will be slouchy and oversized on me. I LOVE the fact that it has been inspired by an Australian sheep farm, and also that it was also £2, which is madness when you look at the prices on their website. It feels so nice - really lovely quality for the summer.
Happy hunting this long weekend! M1007 -
Apologies @Miró, what an oversight! How could I skip important details like that?! It's a jumper.
Yes, for me half the fun is honing my eye and researching what I find. Sometimes I get it very wrong, but more often I am pleasantly surprised. All part of the thrill of the chase for me!7 -

The Chorley charity shops are fewer in number. British Heart Foundation has survived, as has the Childrens Society & St Catherine’s Hospice but the run along Market St has taken a clobbering.Deeply out of practice, I managed to lock onto a Denby Manor Green (my lads could identify that before they could write the word green!) but Himself spotted a little vase he thought was Langley - the basestamps put it around 1891-1901 & I think it’s lovique ware & possibly a very early toe into the domestic ware market. He even picked up 4 saucers that could be Boston or Imperial Blue (the light is puzzling)
I so need more storage boxes! Also to walk further despite working full time from home.6 -
Had a chazzerlicious day yesterday. Made a visit to drop off a load of stuff (am having to clear out through necessity) and ended up buying a pair of jeans, some BNWT light summer trousers for work - grumbles about having to enter the building after over a year - 2 good melamine sandwich trays to match my new kitchen for 50p each, and an ornate recipe holder similar to this in copper wire for £1:
I then took a trip to a hardware store and by wonderful chance discovered my favourite £2 chazzer which had closed down had in fact relocated next to it! It was so sparkling new and smart and made me a very happy girl - I bought a BNWT blouse to match my new trousers (BNWT outfit for £5) and a dress for my little niece who is growing up very fast. Location couldn't be more convenient for me and I will be a regularNo man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -
Some more good finds yesterday!
BNWT Skechers 'Cali' sandals. So comfy. £4 from Helen Rollason.
An Oasis t-shirt with rose gold stars on, £3.95 in Sue Ryder.
A pair of Clarks Artisan sandals - tan and more rose gold, for £5 in Helen Rollason.
and finally, a Day Birgir and Mikkelsen dress. The (very nice) man serving asked me what it was - was it a raincoat? I can see why - it's made of shiny material, with puff sleeves and makes me feel like an art installation when I wear it. I will need to be brave to go out and about in it but it was only £6 and the RRP must have been more than £100. It's on insta if you want to take a look!

Next patterned tunic and Monsoon shirt from RedCross shop @ £3 a piece
walked up to the Hospice shop, found a pretty china bowl and a vintage small pyrex dish for 30pStop Buying **** We Don't Need6 -
Went to nearby posh town as it generally has a better class of pre owned items, lol. I only found some gorgeous little pottery mushroom tops, two blue and two purple. I'm going to get some dowelling and put them near my blue glazed pots (which were found discarded at the bottle bank covered in white paint. Patience, elbow grease and nitromors got them back to a beautiful state.
Other than that I got a map that I think we don't have for £1.8 -
Went for a trundle around Northallerton this afty but half of the charity shops were closed. Not sure if it was just cos of the bank holiday or if if they have just not started up again. Anyhoo, in one of them I found a pair of Bellssimo (Pavers) ivory leather ballet flats, b/n, for £9.99. After lockdown I’m going more for comfort than vertiginous heels! Then...oh dear, I did it again, spotted a nice Barbour jumper, dithered and another woman grabbed it...aaarrrgghh!9
