Oh Wednesday you made me laugh about the running. Yes we are all full of good intentions aren't we. Well.....whenever it is "Happy Birthday". 🎂💐. Have a fabulous birthday week with lots of treats and happy times.Good morning lovely ladies.SFT thanks for the link to "The Cut". Never seem that before. Lots of interesting articles. Right up my street, so thanks. Edith Head was the queen of them all.Sheila.....wow you have been busy. You are putting me to shame.Well I've mulled it over and I have decided not to book for the cruise. It's just too far ahead, even without taking Covid into account. I'm more of a last minute kind of girl really. I just don't fancy the idea of committing myself so far in advance. And there's usually last minute bargains to be had.Anyway time to start the day. Still coughing but I had a good 8 hrs sleep last night.😁8

Hard to find a compromise. I stay out of it, sad to have GC so far away and miss so much of them growing up but I guess I am lucky as I have six GC and hopefully will have more when youngest DS and DD decide to start families.8

Just found out I won £50 on premium bonds this month. That is a nice start to the month.11

Happy Birthday for whenever it is Wednesday. 😊
I checked out the regulations for my birthday next week and they do change marginally on Monday. I know some people have been ignoring the rules but I don't want to do anything illegal. That's from personal integrity rather than because I agree with many of them. Apparently from Monday it will be OK to go out and not take exercise, so coffee and picnics are allowed. Unfortunately this isn't to be found in official government guidance but in what the PM said in his press conferences last week. At the moment I'm thinking of putting my healthy eating to one side for the day and buying M&S goodies for a picnic at lunchtime then a fish & chip supper in the evening. 🤔 All I need to decide is how far to push 'local' for my picnic.🤔
Today's Style section in my paper is about what people are planning to wear when they can go out. I'm guessing (from the outfits) that's when bars can serve outdoors. The consensus seemed to be dresses with boots. Most of the dresses seemed to be midi length, floaty and patterned. It's a look I like. Apparently they get their information from the sort of searches people have been doing online.
The rest of the section was given over to the reported revamp of the PM's flat. From photos of the stylist's work it does seem rather OTT. Fabulously rich and colourful but cluttered, which I think I'd get tired of , and not very calming.
I don't think I'll be contributing to the proposed whip round to pay for it. 🤣9 -

We had the date for our medicals & application interview at New Zealand House, but my late MiL1 kicked up such a fuss that we pulled out and stayed in Cheshire. My mum left it to us to decide, just as you are doing @thepurplepixie.
I think it would be easier now we all know how easy it can be to connect with family, but it must be hard to think about for you. I don't have any grandchildren so if either of my boys emigrated, it would be less of a wrench.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Apparently there's a loophole about preserving a heritage building.

Nice to win some money PP!
The picnic sounds nice Maman. I hope it is nice weather. It's quite chilly and foggy here today.
That is a shame about the cruise LL. Hopefully you will see something nearer to the time.
I don't like that decor either! I do like dark red and pink, but not overdone and chintzy like that.
OMG, I rang up about my missing necklaces and the person I spoke to was being very unhelpful. I said I wanted a full refund. She said do you want a refund for both necklaces or just one? Uh, both, as you didn't send me either of them. She didn't seem to get sarcasm either. Lol.
I'm having a vegan fish and chips later, a Quorn fishless fillet, chips, mushy peas and a salad. Yum. I need to find a film to watch tonight.
I can't wait to go out to the cinema too.

Lots of birthdays, we've got 2 this month so it does seem a busy month. The picnic sounds lovely maman, hope you get a nice day. It is cold and miserable here today, so different to the weekend.7

Been outside painting my metal garden table/2 chairs and a plant stand, they were cream, now sage green. I cannot get warm now.Well done on the premium bond win PP. My Brother won £25, he only purchased some in December. I have a £2 premium bond from 1964, never won!Our P and O cruise was cancelled today. It was sailing 12/8, they aren't sailing abroad until the end of August. Apparently they will just be doing some UK cruises until then, they will release the information at the end of March.8
