It looks like a lovely outfit LL.
My New Look stuff arrived this morning. I read my kindle outside in the garden for a while and the sunshine was quite hot. One of my cats is sunning herself stretched out on the floor in front of the living room windows at the moment.
I was washing my bed covers this week and noticed that they are not as white as they used to be so I am going to dye them blue to match the walls in my bedroom. That will give me something to do tomorrow.
I am about to go out to the shop and I think I will wear my sandals there and back.

Sheilavw thank you, I am pleased. I didn't do well with my teeth when I was a child/teenager but suddenly as I approached my 20s I realised I needed them to last a lifetime so upped my game. I had a big gap in my front teeth, a la Terry Thomas, and had my freenum removed, that's the flap of skin you often see between the front teeth of people with a gap, and then wore a brace to push my teeth together, this isn't like the normal brace you see but a plate like for dentures with a wire on each side pushing the teeth together. I hated it, but wore it from 15 to 18 and realised how horrible a plate is, spoils the taste of food so didn't want dentures. The big change for me was finding interdental brushes, so effective and I haven't had a filling in years, I have all my teeth, never had an extraction, never got wisdom teeth (that explains alot) and I hope I can hang onto them.
Wednesday it is worth having the blood test, I had mine done in lockdown and they increased my dose of thyroxine and I think it has definitely helped.
I know 100 days doesn't seem great for clothes but I think Asda started that with school uniform and 100 days is longer than a term so for people with sons like mine a guarantee of 100 days was great as football often meant trousers were ruined before half term. Who'd have football mad sons.
It is glorious here today, we have been on the beach for nearly 3 hours, lots of people about. We didn't go to our little local beach but went into Torbay. I queued up and bought a coffee and biscuits and was enjoying myself sitting in the sun watching all the fun. Lots of children playing and parents saying it was the first time they'd been out in weeks. It all felt very normal and it was very much like spring. There are lots of cruise ships in the bay, they've been there for months. I feel so sorry for the crew, they must be so bored. There was a collections at Christmas to send them out some goodies, I think there were 9 or 10 at the time, they sort of come and go, I don't think they go far but probably need to use the engines or something. Anyway come New Year at at midnight they all sounded their horns in turn, a thank you to the Bay. We aren't that close but standing on the doorstep we could hear them, one after another with the horns slightly different, but it was like the message was getting passed from one to another. It was strangely moving, I can't quite explain it. It has been a strange year but that will stay with me, people reaching out even when isolated.

It's a glorious day here too, bright sunshine and 12 degrees. DH and I went out for a long walk this morning and it felt hotter than that. We didn't risk 'casting a clout' so felt quite warm in our coats. We passed many people in tee shirts and even shorts. 😊
It is good to see the signs of Spring everywhere but a bit depressing at the same time. It feels like groundhog day. Here we are again, going for walks seeing signs of spring.....
Those pearls are quite unusual with the different colours LL. I'm glad your pleased with your purchase. I had a similar dress but in purple which I wore to a couple of weddings, along with my Primark purple velvet coat! 😉
That's quite a list of appointments. Fortunately for us, everything in this area seems to have stayed open in the medical/healthcare field except for dentists at the very beginning. I caught up with my dentist/hygienist appointments because I needed treatment so was higher up the list. DH has only just had his first routine check up for a year . It doesn't seem to have lowered our monthly payments though. 🤔
I'm going to do a manicure today. One nail was a little ragged/rough so I need to cut them all before I catch more of them. 😊11 -
Hello Ladies,
LL that dress and those pearls are a really great combination. Roll on your birthday. You are going to look very elegant.
I only have a bit of pain in my vaccination site and my left armpit but no other side effects. The pain is manageable without pain killers.
It is lovely to have such glorious weather for this time of the year.
A representative from Lambeth Council gave me a call today to find out if I needed any support as I am now in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable group. I reassured him that I was not in need of any type of support, but if I ever was, I had all of the written information from Lambeth council that signposts all of the various types of support on offer to me.
I decided that I wanted a roast dinner today, so I cooked jerk skinless chicken drumsticks in Bisto Best gravy with sliced mushrooms, a brown onion and an orange pepper, roast potatoes and sweetcorn. It was delicious. Well worth all of the effort.

Good morning lovely ladies...I still so enjoy this thread, although don’t post so often. I feel kind of shy about posting, which is crazy when you are quite anonymous, not sure what’s that about! Everyone’s is so so kind and friendly too. Sorry to hear many of you been feeling poorly and also after vaccines. I should be having mine soon, hubby been called and he is six months younger than me..a bit puzzling as no underlying health conditions. Interesting that many of you are starting to dress up again. I thought about putting a skirt on, but opted for jeans again, Then I tried to remember when i last wore a skirt or dress. Can’t. let alone a pair of high heels. Seems like another world. On another note, could someone point me in the right direction for the uptodate Living a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget, thread? can’t find the new thread anywhere....Many thanks...9

Good Mornjng lovely ladies......
Savingmore.......please do post. We don't bite. It's like a virtual coffee morning where we get to chat, exchange ideas and hopefully learn from each other. All the while being fab-u-lous of course.Seeing as spring is coming, and lockdown will be easing and we are starting to think about actually getting dressed properly again, 😂🤣. I thought I would resurrect one of our early topics.A few years ago we had a little game called "Filmsperation", these are either proper fashion films such as "Coco, Before Chanel" or "Devil Wears Prada" or films in which the clothes practically play the starring role.Which are your favourite fashion films. Of course we can extend this to cover interior design (any Bond film) and also historical fashion "The Duchess". Also any favourite old movies from Hollywoods golden era. (Just about anything in which Edith Head designed the wardrobe). What prompted me was I rewatched "Oceans 8" last night........the women were fantastic and the evening dresses in particular were to die for.As you know I fully intend to build a vintage clothing business and I would love to harness your opinions. (Ok free market research for me😅😂). So Ladies, help me out, which is your favourite "Best Dressed Movie". I'll kick off.My all time favourite is "The Thomas Crown Affair". There are two versions. The 1968 version was with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway and the 90s remake starred Pierce Brosnan and Rene Rousso. In the original, Steve McQueen is the satorial star, he steals it. His suits are stunning, perfect tailoring and could still be worn today, they are timeless classics. His casual wardrobe hits just the right note, with orange being a surprising choice and a bit of a theme. Fayes clothes are more gimmicky, lovely but very much of their time. They do rather scream late 60s. Of course most of them are extreme minis and rather "Dolly Bird" rather than being suitable
real woman.I much prefer Rene Roussos wardrobe in the remake. Sophisticated grown up dressing for real women. Clean cut tailoring, quality fabrics using lots of different textures, wool, silk, leather, suede, a well thought out palette of colours. Michale Kors did most of the wardrobe whilst the (in)famous see through evening dress was by Halston. The designs have stood the rest of time and are as fresh and relevant today as they were almost 25 years ago. I would wear every item (except the see through dress😂🤣). The black leather biker jacket is still a must have, and nowadays it comes in all colours so, even if, like me, you don't like wearing black you can still have one in your wardrobe. Mine is a faux suede faux snakeskin. I love it. It's fun and I always get loads of compliments when I wear it. It was only from Asda, about £20 so whilst it may not be a traditional investment piece I can see me wearing it for several years yet. Great with jeans of course but it also works very well on top of some of my plain tailored monochrome formal dresses to create a more casual and modern look.Pierce Brosnan is beautifully suited and booted of course as Thomas Crown and again his leisure wear hits all the right notes. So ladies.......please help me in my market research and share your favourites.Another glorious day. Enjoy.9
