So glad the gloves are doing their thing Wednesday. Looking after our hands is so important isn't it and living with pain, even fairly low level pain, does drag us down. On top of that lots of positive vaccine news, so glad you got yours sugarbaby, three weeks in you will feel even better. Savingfortomorrow I hope yours goes well. A month ago I think I knew one person who had the jab, then my son got it, my husband and I were next, my GC's other GPs got it, my sister and BIL, a friend who runs a care home and his wife and all his staff and residents got it. Amazing how it is going and I was so pleased to hear Jo Whitley had achieved her aim of getting the learning disabled prioritised.
Feeling very positive today, will be starting treatment on my arm so will get a bit yucky and uncomfortable for the next two weeks but so much better to treat early and I know in a month it will be all healed and worry free so even that won't get me down.
GS is feeling a bit unsettled about his GCSEs, he would have preferred exams but I'm hoping his teachers will talk them through it on their online lessons today. He has coped so well through it all and I'm sure he will handle this once he gets his head round it.
Savingfortomorrow Jacinda Ardern has certainly shown the men up. I read the other day that when the pandemic started the first thing she did was send a team or doctors/scientists to one of the countries that had experience with SARS, maybe Singapore but I can't quite remember. She basically said, "Show us how it's done" and then she did it. Such a good idea and what results.7 -
Good Mornjng lovely ladies......
looks like it's going to be another nice day, sun doing its best to break through. Probably cooler than yesterday but no matter, . The forecast for the next few days actually looks quite good so I intend to make the most of any decent weather that comes our way. Time to get out a bit more, I'm fed up with being cooped up indoors. Even being able to potter in the garden will be fantastic, And, now that I'm post 3 weeks after my jab, I feel a bit more confident about going to different shops. I will even start venturing to B&Q and one of the garden centres. Oooh the excitement. 😂.Wednesday, it's great that you are taking such a proactive approach to improving both your physical and mental health. I am sure you will start to reap the benefits soon.I am still very heavily congested and if I'm honest I feel absolutely drained and wiped out, but like Wednesday I have set myself my own "road map" back to full health. I have set myself targets and my action plan starts today. I want to be at full strength by the time the restrictions are lifted. In the meantime, I have ordered myself a dress. Partly to cheer myself up but also I just spotted it and thought how pretty it was. (And it's a bargain😂). Perfect for my 70th birthday and (hopefully) lots of other social engagements - all in good time.Have a great day y'all. Keeeep Fabbing, stay safe and well.7 -
It's looking lovely here for a change, sunshine and no rain. I need milk, so will take a walk shortly to the butchers to get some. The butcher will have the benefit of my make up (above the mask), perfume and freshly washed hair
Yesterday I went to M&S and looked at the clothes, mainly frumpy, but I did find a lovely jacket in red wool, fully lined with brass military style buttons on it. It was an edge to edge style. Reduced from £69 to £27. Well, I must admit I couldn't resist, it will be great for the spring and autumn, if I'm sitting outside a cafe or pub, will go well with skirts or dresses. I have taken the buttons off and it looks much better now. I will dress it up with a lovely big brooch and perhaps a scarf.Debt free and Keeping on Track7 -
Hope your vaccination goes smoothly sft and that you don't suffer too much from side effects. Good on you for boosting your mood with a brighter dress. 😊
That was very thoughtful of you to persevere with your brother's appointment sugarbaby. He probably would have got a letter for booking by phone (still might) eventually but you've speeded it up for him. It's impressive what Lambeth Council are offering even though you don't need help in that way. It's very good considering you've had problems with them in the past.
I'm going to venture out later and go to Home Bargains. I've always kept an ongoing shopping list of things I'm about to run out of/that I buy in different shops. These days it's become my social calendar! 🤣 I've found that if I fancy going out for an hour and perhaps it's not nice enough for a walk then getting something on my list gives me a purpose. How sad is that!! While Home Bargains sells some foodstuffs that I use, they're very good for toiletries too.
DH is complaining that his hair is getting too long. I suggested an Alice band but he wasn't interested. Then we discovered that dog grooming parlours are open! 🤣8 -
Mrs P your new red coat sounds fab. And a real bargain. Amazing the difference removing tacky buttons can make. The red jacket I bought a few weeks ago is a very fine worsted so not really warm enough just yet but you inspired me. So, seeing as it's a lot warmer today, instead of wearing a long top coat I dug out one of my shorter "car coats". Today I wore my fuchsia pink one., (my amazing £1 bargain😉) it's wool so nice and cosy. I have a selection of brightly coloured wool jackets/car coats so I think it's time to start wearing them now that the weather is warming up a bit. Like Maman said the other day, hopefully I can say au Revoir to my winter wardrobe soon. Put all those big chunky sweaters and heavy top coats away.I'm pretty well stocked up for coats but I have decided there are a couple of gaps in my winter wardrobe. I need (ok want🤣) a really nice herringbone tweed (I'm watching a couple on eBay). Just need to decide which one to get. And I fancy a leopard print fake fur. Although I'm a bit unsure - I don't want to look "Bet Lynch". 😱🤣.Ventured to Asda today because I needed some non food items. Found plenty of bargains and offers today, a gorgeous orchid £5, some eye cream, and my favourite badedas Bath gel. I didn't actually need any but I always buy some when it's on offer. Bought some summer flowering bulbs for the garden and a bunch of Daffs for kitchen. So a nice little haul this Morning. I get what you are saying Maman about non food shopping being a "social calendar". It's an excuse to go out isn't it.Problem is I'm wiped out again now so I don't think I'll be able to do any gardening today. Never mind it's not urgent. Whatever "it" was, this lurgy has really knocked the stuffing out of me. Still nothings spoiling and I can pace myself until I'm back up to full strength. Finally plucked up courage to take both my blood sugar readings and pop myself on the scales this morning. I was relieved that both my sugar levels and my weight were unchanged. I was convinced that because I had been eating so badly whilst poorly that I had shot myself in the foot. So I guess that proves it's our long term patterns and habits that are most important. All those small daily habits which add up over time.SFT good luck with the jab. Hope you don't have too many side effects.7

I've been down on the beach with grandchildren. It was absolutely lovely, sun shining and quite warm. We had a lovely walk and the boys played on the rocks, then we had ice creams before heading home. Oh we watched the steam trains as well. Really lovely outing and I'm now sitting with a cuppa and the boys are playing on the xbox. Here comes summer - so positive to just enjoy a sunny day on the beach.5

Some good news - DH is 64 (no underlying health issues) and he got his letter today, I booked his jab online for Saturday at 5.20pm (first available appointment) and was also able to book his second one for 15th May. It was a very easy and straightforward process.Debt free and Keeping on Track5

Fantastic news Mrs P. They are really cracking on with the vaccination programme. 👍😁7

That red coat sounds nice. I would like a red denim jacket. I can't wait for the charity shops to open. I really am looking forward to hunting for bargains again.
I got a text from my GP today saying I needed to get a routine blood test, but I don't know whether to just wait a few months until everything opens up properly.6 -
Hello Ladies,
It looks as if I will not get away with having no side effects. My left arm was sore before I had even left the building yesterday. It is worse today and my left armpit is also painful. I have also had the shivers and fluctuated between feeling too hot and sweating and feeling as if I have a chill. I also got a piercing headache on the left side of my head earlier. 4 painkillers has eradicated the headache and made my arm and armpit bearable. I am exhausted. Every action takes enormous effort.6
