helensbiggestfan said:Apparently quite a few people are complaining of neck pain and other arm pain after the jab.So who knows. 🤷♀️ My DIL the nurse had aching joints, similar to a bout of flu and extreme fatigue. My sister who is asthmatic has had nothing, just a bit of tenderness in her arm. There doesn't seem to be a clearly defined pattern.Did I mention that, as well as a great litany of symptoms, I have also lost my voice. My son rang me, funny phone call with me barely able to whisper. He suggested I should maybe have a covid test. I was beginning to wonder because I had googled the latest symptoms and wouldn't you just know I can tick all the boxes. Now wouldn't that be ironic, especially as the only two places I have visited have been the vaccination centre and one quick trip to Aldi's.
If you can make it out to a pharmacy see if you can get Vocalzone, usually with the soothers etc.
Designed for singers, they taste very strongly of licorice and they're not medicated so you can have as many as necessary. They work wonders for bringing the voice back.
First recommended to me by a Pharmacist in my NQT year, in November, after a very challenging Friday afternoon with year 9 😆
Hope you feel better soon.9 -
Thanks little green parrot. I'll try and get some. I like liquorice flavours. And I must admit the medicated throat sweets upset my stomach.8

Good Morning lovely ladies
thanks Mrs P I slept quite well, kept waking up to have a good cough but did at least manage to get back to sleep,
sukey.....Royal Mail have sent a text to say the kit will be delivered today.Still not hungry.....maybe a plus from this will be that a I lose a little weight 😂🤣. Although I have to say it's not a diet I recommend. 😱. I remembered I bought a humidifier for cruises to help combat the drying effects of air conditioning and avoid the associated bugs you tend to get with recycled air. I can recommend those because whenever I've been in cruises there was always a Hugh proportion if coughs doing the rounds and I never Did succumb, not even kn the 6 weeks to the Amazon.Anyway I've set it up and added eucalyptus so hopefully that will help. I've also flung open the windows to get some fresh air and hopefully get rid of some of the bugs. I might try a walk, just a little one. I'm very English, a firm believer in the healing properties of fresh air and cups of tea.Other than that no real change, although I have at least managed to get dressed today, so that's progress. 😂 Also managed to load the washing machine.I'm fed up though.......unfortunately I'm not the worlds most patient patient. I get bored and frustrated. 😂
hope you are all well.9 -
get well soon LL. I've just had a shower, used a green tea and walnut shell facial scrub, then a nice neom body lotion. Very wet here today, proper miserable!

I wonder if you are more likely to get a reaction to the 2nd dose? I haven't had any problems, son and DIL the same so we just have DHs rogue arm pain, hoping we don't all go down hill after the 2nd dose. We've had a mixture 2 with pfizer and 2 with AZ.
I went to the supermarket yesterday, just a quick in and out but as the 3 weeks post jab gets closer I am feeling a bit more comfortable about it and it was nice to be able to pick some fruit. I have blessed the deliveries all year but I have to say they aren't very careful about fruit. I think going forward I will get shopping delivered regularly and just go into the supermarket for a few things like fruit and veg and maybe a fresh loaf during the week instead of having to get one out of the freezer.
I've been trying to sort my money/spending out. I have a confusing set of incomes, I get my pension from old employer on the last Friday of the month, State pension every 4 weeks, DHs contribution the 2nd week of the month and any earning are random. So hard to work out how much to have in the bank at any one time and what I actually spend in an average month. So I have a new system, on the 5th of every month I get all my figures, current account, credit card, savings and see what has happened in a month. It has given me a much clearer picture of where I am.

Sheila - I liked that Hotel Cecil documentary.
It's lovely weather today, very sunny and mild. I did 5,000 steps and I will go out again later for another walk around the block. I have some new barefoot trainers that I wore and I'm finding it hard to get used to them as it feels like I'm walking on the ground! I don't know how people manage to run in them!
I like the new cream and serum I got from Superdrug, especially the serum, although it says only to use it a few times a week. I need to get a serum I can use daily at some point. My skin is back to normal now, luckily, so I will carry on with the sun protection over my moisturiser during the day.
I am on 14 days now without any alcohol. I haven't been finding it too hard but I wonder if I will do once I start going back out socially. One of my postponed concerts is still being advertised as being at the end of March in London but I don't know if that will go ahead. It's my birthday next month and that will mark a year since I have been into central London.
I'm going to play fetch with my dog in the garden and then I'm about to start another psychological thriller I borrowed from Prime. The Perfect Life.

DH needed to go to Screwfix so I went with him and popped to Sainsbogs (oh the excitement)! I treated myself to a bunch of daffs for £1 (last of the big spenders). They are now on my coffee table in my nice Beleek vase and look really cheery. Its such a horrible day here, foggy and raining non-stop.
I noticed that Stan and Ollie was on BBC1 last night. I saw it at the cinema. While not a big Laurel and Hardy fan I can recommend the film. It really is a love story or perhaps "friendship" describes it better. I will re-watch it on the Iplayer tonight.Debt free and Keeping on Track7 -
I enjoyed hotel cecil too Wednesday, not to spoil it for others but I think what they said happened did
