Lovely photo......it's ages since I've seen the sea in real life. 😞. I really miss it. Used to love both my little house by the sea in Scotland in the early 70s and our apartment in Spain. Never mind, Derbyshire is pretty and the city is improving, although still a lot of vacant shops. But I think that's pretty much universal across the U.K. - not just my city.Anyway........Operation Revamp has begun in earnest. Friday I gave myself a facial, tidied my eyebrows, had my hair cut, and painted my nails, both hand and toenails. Tomorrow I will be having a massage.Haven't managed any more decluttering but am concentrating on the garden now whilst the weather holds. Today will be pruning some trees if I can reach, and cutting the grass.I have started some gentle exercise again, just a few simple yoga stretches for now and will build up gradually. Also have upped the walking a bit. Again just build up, going a bit further every few days or so.Slowly, slowly catchey monkey. 😂
Maman I notice that Clarins have added an eye serum to their range. Have you tried it yet. I know you are a big fan of their serum. When I run out of my current stash I am thinking of giving Clarins another go. I love their Beauty Flash Balm too but have not tried their serum. I am currently using Avon Renew Platinum. I bought a tester kit. My skin likes it well enough but not the eye cream. I do struggle with the skin round my eyes, it's very sensitive and a lot of products really irritate. It's all trial and error.Right time to get cracking......tidy up, walk and then gardening.Meant to say met a friend for lunch yesterday. Had a lovely time but was very shocked and upset to discover thst she had been called back after a mammogram, she had a biopsy on Thursday. Just hope it's nothing too nasty.
Made me realise just how fortunate I am......yes I have my aches and pains and tummy upsets but nothing really major. I am so lucky.7 -
Hope your friend is okay LL and it's just a precaution. xx
I have my first concert since March 2020 this week!I was trying to get my Covid pass on my phone to take with me but it wasn't working properly when I tried yesterday so I will have to try it again later. My husband said there must be a glitch on the system.
I am meeting my friend and my brother for a meal in Soho first. I'm so looking forward to it!
I'm just having a bath and putting on my hydrating leave on face mask. That has lasted me so long as you only need a little bit each time. The "B" range at Superdrug.
I bought a really nice dress the other day from a charity shop for only £1. I might wear it when I go out although I'm not sure if it is okay to wear sandals or boots this week as the weather is quite changeable. I think boots and tights will be the better option.
The dress is navy of course. Lol.6 -
Hello Ladies,
My sister R came for an overnight visit on Friday. We went to the pub that I like to go to for a night of dancing and had a great night out. We both had men that took a shine to us and bought us 2 drinks each, we both only wanted bottled water though. My son and daughter enjoyed interacting and talking to their aunt.
I had sent Wayne a text and asked him to meet me in the pub. He eventually turned up extremely late in the night and I almost did not recognise him. He looked quite scruffy and uncared for. Once he was near to me, it became obvious that he was clean and smelt good, but he looked quite haggard and much older as he was scrawny. He has lost a lot of weight and as he always had a lean and muscular frame from being a bricklayer, it was really strange to see him looking the way he does now. We did talk for a while, so he is working 7 days a week at the moment. He has no time to enjoy life. I may have fallen out of love with Wayne, once I discovered his cheating, but it does not mean that I do not care about him. I will catch up with him on the phone soon and find out what has happened to him over the last 3 years.
I am going to my local Odeon tomorrow afternoon to watch Respect. I am really looking forward to it.6 -
You really have taken yourself in hand @helensbiggestfan. Lots of fabbing going on there. Seems you're getting plenty of exercise with your DIY! 😉
Funnily enough, an advert popped up the other day for the Clarins eye serum. As you said, I absolutely love the serum so will investigate. Currently I use Clinique All about Eyes so I wonder if the eye serum is to go under that or instead of. When I'm next browsing in the city centre I'll ask at the Clarins counter.
I do hope all is OK with your friend. It's always a worry so 🤞🏼 for a good outcome.
Thanks for sharing the seaside photo @chanie. I love the sea in all weathers. Just the smell of it is invigorating. I booked flights for our 2022 holiday today. I've really missed swimming in the Mediterranean this year. I know some people have been determined and have gone off to Greece or anywhere they can but I really CBA with the testing and general hassle.
It sounds like Wayne has been wearing himself out @sugarbaby125. Good on you for keeping an eye out for him. 😊
The weather has stayed fine and dry here except for a very few showers so I'm definitely not going to start wearing tights @Wednesday2000. It's forecast to stay that way through the week too. I had a good fabbing session this morning including defuzzing my legs.
We were told that we needed the NHS vaccine passport to go to the football but we've been to 2 home matches now and it's not been asked for. When I downloaded it this weekend I noticed it lasted a month whereas it was only 24 hours before. It can have glitches but I'd put that down to our useless Virgin broadband.
I'm out several times in the coming week so hoping to keep wearing dresses while the weather lasts. Sadly one occasion is a memorial service for a friend that was delayed because of Covid. Fortunately the others are more cheerful like DH's birthday and meeting up with old friends.7 -
@sugarbaby125 I can't believe it's 3 years since Wayne was a regular fixture! My, that has gone quickly. I enjoy reading about your social life 🙂2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Thanks Floss, I think that the last 3 years has flown by but I have been really busy even with the lockdowns and all of the other disadvantages that have arisen due to this Pandemic.
Maman yes Wayne is currently wearing himself out, but he did not feel he could refuse a huge private job that he is doing with one of his brothers on top of his normal bricklayer work which his does Monday-Friday full time and Saturday mornings. The private job is going to take at least another 2 months, so I am hoping that Wayne will listen to my concern and look after himself better while he is working such dangerously long hours.

My lovely neighbour just gave me a bunch of yellow roses, which are my favourite blooms. It was just the random act of kindness that I needed after I was grieving for my granddaughter over the last 2 days.
