This morning went for a walk for around 45 mins. Very enjoyable, but towards the end I did get cold and I could feel it stinging on my face - which in some weird way felt good
We had sausage baps for breakfast (before the walk) and when we came back I put a stew on and made dumplings. We have just eaten some, exactly what is needed for this cold weather. There was enough to freeze 3 more 2 portions meals so two have gone in the freezer, the remaining one we will have on Friday night (we are having fish tomorrow as we have eaten a lot of meat lately).
One thing I want to try and do this year is to try and eat a couple of meat free meals each week. I am also trying to up our fruit and veggie portions at each meal.Debt free and Keeping on Track6 -
Bitter cold here. Got a good walk, although quite slippy underfoot. Candles for me too in an evening, it gives you that feeling of warmth doesn't it. Putting hand cream on fairly regularly to try and soften my dry hands. Cases still rising around here, very worrying.

I won't be discarding much clothing, just some past it's sell by date underwear for now. I will have a proper declutter in the summer. I will get rid of all the horrid "1 mile clothes" I bought just as soon as the weather warms up. They were from a certain well known supermarket, awful fit, horrid fabrics, a complete waste of money. They are only a couple of months old but already they look like dish rags. Only fit for diy or gardening,Maybe it's just me but I think even at the best of times the 1 year rule is a load of nonsense, even in a non covid year, unless of course you buy high fashion items which date quickly.I did all that in my 20s and made some serious mistakes but now that I've found my own style and what works for my shape, I find I can keep clothes for years without them looking dated. You can always tweak your classic basics with new accessories or some inexpensive tops in new trendy colours.Tbh I have got quite a few things I've not even worn yet, and even more that I have perhaps only worn once or twice, so I certainly won't be parting with them even if they have been hanging in the wardrobe over a year. They are too nice to part with and hopefully one day in the not too distant future they will get an airing again.Took delivery of a gorgeous Windsmoor coat today. Luxurious Ivory wool, trench coat style. Immaculate condition. It's vintage but because it's such a classic it's ageless. I could wear until I'm 90 or it drops to bits and it would still wouldn't be considered old fashioned. My Best Buy though has to be my red jacket by Hartnell of London. It's pure wool, finest worsted so is light as a feather. It looks as if it has never been worn. It's a little snug at the moment because it is very tailored but will be perfect once I loose a bit more weight. I'll try and take photos.7

Everything set out Marie Kondo style this morning before the sort out. The "Pope Tin" was my mother's so I keep it for sentimental reasons. . It's a bit worse for wear, well it is older than me😂. It's hidden from view in a cupboard so no one sees it. I use it as my medicine chest.

Red jacket doesnt look much on the hanger, it looks awkward but it does sit nicely on. The cream one is much heavier wool and a looser fit, it has a nice "swing" when you move. Very elegant,

Gorgeous coat and jacket LL. I'm going green. They're absolute classics and would go well with trousers or skirts or boots. 😁
That was really brave getting everything out like that. Good move though.
I agree about the one year thing. Obviously this year it's Covid but some years it's not cold enough for certain coats or hot enough for sun dresses. It's the same with evening wear, that depends on what sort of events come up. Shame about the leisure clothes. I'd really like some smart joggers but not sure where to go for quality. 🤔

helen I know I should comment on your lovely coats, but I’m coveting your Pope tin. It’s so bad, it’s good (forgive me, Papa 🙏🏽). Please repurpose it as a ‘sin tin’ and keep all your naughty treats in it.
im home schooling. It’s great that the children are having classes and the teachers are putting in lots of effort into online lessons, but it still require me have to ensure they ready for their lessons, plus logging them on. Plus, I still have to do my own work.6 -
Well done chanie, you're a star. Keep up the good work. 👍
Your comment about the Pope tin made me laugh. 😂 I remember going to Lourdes and you've never seen such tat, holy tat, on sale in your life (unless you've been there). I'm ashamed to say I am the proud owner of a luminous, musical madonna. 😉9 -
Pope Tin as Sin Tin. What a great idea. 😂.Good luck with the home schooling. Hard when you have to pull in your own work as well.I think the BBC are going to be doing something, starting on 11th. Not sure of the details.9

I watched the new minimalist documentary, I so wanted everyone to watch it, I felt like shouting from the rooftops! I also watched the 1st episode of broken about the fake cosmetics. My ,are up routine has definitely changed since lockdown, I'm only wearing it for work, a smidgen of foundation dotted in the middle of my face and blended out just to even any dark circles and then mascara on top lashes, and eyebrow pencil, to fill the gaps in brows. I've always had full brows such a shock to realise they are getting sparse,!!
I have to agree Marie Kondo made a huge difference to my life, I keep nothing now that is not needed, always ask what do I need this for/where will I put it before I buy, and my house is so easy to clean, which makes me happy. Life is for living not cleaning!!
I have a red coat LL that I've had for years, it doesn't come out much, unfortunately as I'm such a cold blooded person I prefer my thick duck and down coats. I do love it though, red is such a lovely colour.I love winter white for jackets too. I rarely wear black, except for my uniform.
My lovely sister bought me a voucher for a facial, which may be on hold for awhile but is something to look forward to.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.9
