Morning, been snowing here again but doesn't feel as cold so maybe it will soon go.I too like some meat free meals. In fact last night was good old egg and chips! I buy the 2 pack of chunky cod loin from Aldi, nice with veg, or the salmon.for the slow cooker I have bought the liners, they are amazing. I used to hate washing the pot. I did a corned beef hash in it one week, then the following week I used up some beef and did a stew then added some dumplings. Good old winter fayre!6

I love the Pope tin. It is Pope John XX111 isn't it? What a lovely man he was, I remember his election I think the current Pope is more like him that the ones who came in between. I did go to a Mass when Pope John Paul II came to England, slept in a field for the night, it was such a lovely atmosphere with people sharing the food and drinks they had brought with them. Can't say the loos were very good though. I have the Mass book and my husband, who was on duty, has the Police Orders for the day. Might be of interest one day. I also went to a Papal audience in Rome and saw Pope Benedict. All very different people.
Doesn't it sound amazing now to be able to travel round, be crowded into a field or flying into Rome. How the world has changed.
Maman I've never been to Lourdes but I have been to Knock, it was years ago but yes there are some interesting items of religious memorabilia.
I could do with a new coat but by the time I can get out and try some on it will be heading for spring so I might leave it till later in the year.
I've bought this blouse in the M&S sale, it looks really nice with slim fit black trousers and ankle boots. I don't normally like pink but it is a very soft shade.7 -
lovely blouse purple pixie.I haven't been to Rome but I have been to Lourdes , 3 times in total.Still snowing a little hereI've put some nice body shop hand protector gel on today. Maybe do my nails later on.Stay safe and warm everyone5

Those blouses with ties at the neck are very much back in fashion pixie. I posted the Kamala Harris ivory one the other day. Get you!!😉
I think we have similar tastes in food sheila. As well as having some veggie meals. I try to have fish at least one a week. I love fish and most seafood. It's something I always choose on a restaurant menu. Unfortunately, it can be more expensive than most meats but I do eat timed sardines or mackerel for lunch now and then and that's better value. I absolutely love egg and chips but my DH doesn't eat eggs so that's my treat if he's out in the evening which hasn't happened for months and months. 🤔
I wore one of my new hooded tops yesterday and DH said how nice I looked. I think it was the fact i was wearing something different that wasn't black that made him notice. 😁

DH had decided to do some painting in our bedroom. I think he decided he wanted a practical project. I'm not complaining and it was good to get out if only to go to B&Q!🤣
Food shopping today. Exciting stuff!!🥱7 -
wort said:Candy girl, I am on levothyroxine for underactive thyroid, didn't get my annual check last year due to covid but never usually changes much in the last 12 years, I put it down to menopause😞 I could do with getting checked as soon as lockdown is lifted though. Thanks
WEDNESDAY, I absolutely loved the lawyer in The Staircase ❤❤ It was a gripping documentary!
LL those London trips sound fab! Me n the hippy ex, uses to go to London quite a lot, as His Bro lives there, n We loved Camden Market ❤
I'm also not a fan of duvet coats, would make me look like a weeble, but Madam Bon Bon has a pink one to keep her bits warm on walks 🤣

CG - I like the lawyer in The Staircase too, he is very charismatic.
I used to hang out in Camden all the time when I knew a group of vegan people in London. They were good times. I met one of them there back in 2019 and found out most of them have moved away now.
Those duvet coats do look warm but I know they wouldn't suit me either.
I thought it was Saturday until about midday! I got confused as my husband was off work yesterday. It was snowing here this morning but it didn't settle. I'm just watching another episode and I have my hot water bottle on my lap.

Inspired by LL I have decluttered half of my wardrobe. I have a large bag filled with stuff for the chazzer. I couldn't believe it but I found my wedding shoes (28 years married), I thought they had long gone - I bought them from Saxone! They have gone in the chazzer bag as well.
Haven't been for a walk yet, but its lovely and bright so think I will make the effort and just walk to the farm shop in the villlage - I need some SR flour.Debt free and Keeping on Track7 -
Love Camden, Greenwich is good too. My son went to Greenwich uni and we used to visit. Not so keen on the eel and mash with green liquor though, always gave that a miss. 😂
I do love a real market, sadly Derby's is now rubbish. In days gone by it was like stepping into some wondrous bazaar, some of the stall holders were real characters. Third, fourth generation traders, it was in their blood. They knew their stuff too, so whether you needed help with a dressmaking question or the best way to cook pheasant they had the answers and were happy to share their knowledge with you.Shopping, even for food and basics, used to be such fun.......you even got dressed up in your finery for the occasion. Now it's dull and boring.I now try and use local shops and tradespeople as much as possible. I'm on a crusade to Buy British wherever I can and to encourage small local businesses. I am so done with the big corporations, I know we can't turn back the clock and the Big Boys are here to stay and realistically we need them but I think there's room for everyone if we give them half a chance,Today I bought eggs and carrots from the local ironmongers. It's that kind of shop.😂 Beautiful organic farm eggs and even cheaper than Aldi.Snow last night, more on the way but thankfully much warmer so have been out and about this Morning, a little walk and then took the car for a little drive to charge up the battery. She sulks if I don't give her a spin every so often.Gave myself a skin peel yesterday, today I'm going to do a bit of hand sewing. When I was going through my wardrobe I noticed a couple of loose buttons so I'll get those done. Some yoga in a bit.....and a healthy supper of salmon. I love fish too but you're right, Maman, fish isn't a cheap meal these days. I've tried pollock instead of cod but I didn't like it much. Ok in fish pie. Sorry I don't really like tinned sardines, and can't stand pilchards. I ended up giving them to the cat. 😂. Love the fresh sardines you get on holiday, tried doing them myself but it wasn't the same. Lol.6 -
LL - How old is your son? My brother went to Greenwich uni and he is younger than me, 38. I went to school in Greenwich. I still miss that area of south London that I grew up in.
My husband is about to get back from work. I will force myself to go out and feed the birds and at least walk around the block. I just let my dogs out to the garden and it feels icy here! Brrr.2025 GOALS
