Well it was enjoyed by all and we will perhaps have mini toad in the holes (yorkshires with cocktail sausages in them) sometime this week to make up for it. More home schooling this week, plus work have sent a few things through to do today so I will get those done, although I doubt it will make up and hours work, so wages will be very slim this month. Never mind, I would rather be safe at home.
I will have a look into the device for the car to diagnose things as it could come in useful, even if i use it under the instruction of my dad lol.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hi does anyone know if changing back to my maiden name will result in a dip on my credit score. I obviously want it to remain as high as possible ready for my new mortgage, but i would like that new mortgage to be in my maiden name. Is it better to wait until i have moved and then change everything?Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I think its better to wait to change your name. I wouldn't do it until your moved in the new place. It takes a while for it sync up across all systems and to be reported back to the credit referencing agencies. Plus I don't think they'll do it on the electoral roll more often than once a year. Plus it's the census in march. Not that it counts. Are you certain you want to change it? Might make going on holiday with the kids a pain. Not me judging you just floating the idea xxx

I have thought about having a different name to the children and other people have mentioned it too. I just don't want anything to do with him or his family. The children know I don't mean them and if given the chance at least the older 2 would happily change theirs too (as they have asked if they can). I will not do that as it would just cause more arguments that are not needed, but if when they are 18 they want to that's their own decision. I did wonder how quick it would be re electoral roll etc so I will leave it until after.
I have received some post from friends who know, that have reverted to my maiden name which is nice. It just wont be official until after the move. On a slightly related note, my fee for court (consent order) was cashed and went through the bank today so I know for sure they have at least received it and its in the pile to be dealt with.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I wouldn't worry about having a different name to your children. My DD2 changed back to maiden name, lives with a new partner (different surname) and her son (different surname again). He wanted to change it when she divorced and changed hers but he was only 13 so told him he'd have to wait until he was older, after all he's got his dad's name! He's now in his 20s and hasn't mentioned it again.
Your children will probably not bother either once they're old enough to make that decision.1 -
Well today is my birthday and we woke up to a blanket of snow. I got a few new thick jumpers as requested and some flowers that were left at the door. Also got some money and vouchers to spend on myself rather than the house, kids or bills! My friend bought me some cupcakes from the local supermarket and delivered them to the door too so the kids put a candle in one and sang to me. I made a wish. It's been a nice day. Pizza for dinner which was very nice. Mum is yet to comment that its my birthday even though we have been speaking via text all day. I imagine she hasn't realised yet, as she wouldn't normally not say anything.
Snowmen were made, hot chocolates drunk to warm up and now all happily chilling and getting ready to go to bed. Kids off with their dad tomorrow for our fortnightly visit. I just hope he keeps them safe from everyone and doesn't end up bring the virus home. Got plenty to do around the house so hopefully I will keep my mind off things.
I hope everyone has had a good / ok week.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Happy Birthday lovely! Sounds like you got some birthday magic with your snowmen and your fun. Sorry about your mum. Great about your lovely friends though and a voucher you have to spend on yourself and presents that you actually wanted! Very nice especially considering the circumstances. Enjoy the rest of your day and I hope you get some stuff off your plate while they're out tomorrow xxxx
