@slm6002 get well soon! Congrats on keeping your cool with EXH's wife...2

Thank you Humdinger. I hate that woman but she acted like she didn't want to be recognised and was scared of me. Those who know me will know I wouldn't say boo to a ghost so not sure why she was like that. Anyway hopefully she will stay away as much as possible.
Kitchen and living room already looking better, and a few emails sorted so feeling like I have achieved a few bits so farMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you FtbDreaming, we've waited for this moment and seems a bit unreal at the moment. Well as we are isolating we have plenty of time to get the room ready for them.
Yesterday I bought a sim only contract for DD2 as I feel she is now old enough for her phone and if I do need to leave her home alone, I can have better contact with her. She is going to use my upgrade phone I got back in Sept but didn't like after using it for a few days and went back to my old one. Anyway it means all 3 children will have the same phone so no arguments on who has a better phone. The sim only contract is £7 per month so overall I will be paying £28 for 4 phones which I don't think is too bad, and she is then all set for high school too.
I also received a cheque from old credit card company who had charged me wrongly for something so were repaying me. So £69.13 into the bank which is a nice surprise. If a few more places would like to send me cheques that would be good too lol.
Ok off to clean a little moreMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Right all schools for me and my lot have closed so we are all working from home today and staying put. Not that DD2 and I could go anywhere anyway lol.
Candles and torches are ready and I cooked a gammon joint yesterday so we can have that cold if the power goes out. Bins are tucked away in the garage so I think we are as ready as we can be. Fingers cross we all get through the red warning without too much happening. My dad was supposed to be traveling to see my sister. I have text him to ask he still plans to go and really hope he postpones it for a day.
Take care everyoneMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well the storm has been and gone. DS asked when was it going to happen - think he was hoping for wind rain high waves sort of storm like we are on a boat (we are not) lol. It was quite odd having the sunshine out at the same time as the gusts of wind. The power stayed on, the tv didn't even flicker. A few doors away lost an entire length of fence along the side of their house, but I think we are ok. I haven't been outside to look at the roof, but no tiles on the floor so I'm hopeful. My Dad has had a few trees down but lives in the middle of a forest almost so was expecting something to come down. He has postponed a visit to my sisters which I was relieved to hear. I read we might have another storm heading our way by the end of the weekend, so will keep torches out for a little longer.
So today DD1 is off to work and have arranged from my brother to collect her as I cant and it will be too dark to walk home alone. The rest of us are going to work on homework to get that out of the way, and then maybe some sorting for the girls room. I need to book a trip to the tip too as I know we will have many bags to go there
Right happy half term / weekend to you allMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

It's always nice to have an excuse to cook gammon
£28 for 4 phones is fab - think we spend £18 for two0 -
Yes Edinburgher, gammon is a favourite here, but must admit all I do it pop it in the slow cooker with a bay leaf. I could be fancy and pop it in the oven with a glaze, but the kids like it as it is so not going to fiddle around. XH used to spend at least £60 on his phone (and expect he still does) each month which is crazy. We are with Tesco and each one is their most basic contract for £7.50, but I opt for the 50p off the bill family bonus so makes it £7 each. They might not be iPhone but they work, they connect to the internet and kids can do pretty much whatever they need to do on them. Their only issue is the lack of decent / pretty phone cases. I'm afraid that is not an issue as I am the one paying lol.
I have been through all communication from the schools and entered things into my diary and my goodness we are busy in March. In the first 2 weeks I need to come up with 2 costumes for DD2 (1 for book day and a superhero one for red nose day), we have cooking for DS so need to be organised when shopping. DD2 also has a make do and mend project so needs adult shirt for school - need trip to charity shop for this one I think as we have been doing well at getting rid of things that no longer fit - might ask Grandad if he has any first. Obviously the builders are coming as are the solar panel people and then there are exam meetings for DD1. This is on top of birthdays, mothers day, pancake day and day to day clubs and work. I am going to need a lot of lists to keep track of things. I can't leave the house I believe until at least Tue and that is if I have 2 negative tests. DD2 did her first today and was still positive. Get a feeling we might need the full 10 days.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
