Yay it's the weekend.  Staff absences have hindered things a little this week, but I've made it.  I got to work this morning and there were some lovely goodies from the lovely ladies in the office.  They really are lovely.  I am going to treat us to a takeaway tonight.

MOT is booked in for tomorrow so no sleeping in for me.  I did wonder if perhaps I could drop it off tonight so it was ready and waiting for tomorrow and I wouldn't have to get up, but then I realised there is rarely any parking space at the garage, so will just have to wake up early.  Sunday the children are with XH.

Last night I managed to sort through a lot of paperwork and shred quite a bit.  So much in fact that my poor shredder gave up.  I'm hoping that today it will have cooled down and start working again.  Its quite old and only really likes 2 sheets of paper at a time.  I am hoping to get the paperwork put away correctly so I can then keep on top of it going forward, and therefore eliminating quite a bit of clutter from the house.

How is it not 11pm, I'm so tired and it certainly feels later than it is.  I dropped the car off early for the MOT and thankfully passed.  I had walked into town to do a few bits when I got the call.  I was then told that they close in 10 min but someone will be there for 25 min had to quickly walk back.  I got there within minutes thankfully.  Only 1 minor thing to keep an eye on so no money required quite yet only the £54 for the actual test which was already in the car pot.
Yesterday DD1 came home in tears as her mock results were back.  The main one she was not happy with was English.  In one of them she got an 8 and the other a 1.  She is in the top set and we are hoping that the lower grade is an error as don't see how she would have done as badly as that considering the other.  The teachers were supposed to be available to speak to but the one she needed to vanished so she will have to wait until Monday to get an answer.  Her friends have been so supportive and tried to cheer her up as she was crying all afternoon.  As well as cheering her up I have also reminded her that they are only mocks and she will get another chance, she needs to revise rather than surfing the internet.
Other than the MOT no other money spent.  Hopefully I will be able to put some more against the mortgage/ loan before the end of the month.

Well today is my birthday and I was woken up by DD2 telling me that I needed to open my cards.  I have been given a lot of flowers, chocolates and some money / vouchers.  Having a January birthday I never know what I would like, but I am happy and feel loved.
I have finally cleaned the kitchen (still need to mop the floor). A chunk of paperwork have been put away in the correct places and the living room is almost ready to be hoovered.  Dad came round to help me put DS basketball net up on the garage wall.  He got it for Christmas and has been nagging me to get it put up for him since then - hoping this will encourage him to leave his bedroom every now and again, and get some fresh air and day light.  I have only just sat down for a break and my feet hurt lol.  Will relax for a few mins and then get on with cooking roast dinner ready for the children to come back from XH.

    Happy birthday @slm6002.

I've done a load of shredding today and have finally finished it all, well all I've sorted out so far.  Still got another drawer in the filing cabinet to go through and no doubt I'll find more!

Thank you for your birthday wishes.  I had a good day and am another year older although seems just the same lol.

Busy day at work today as there is a lot of staff off today for various reason.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I can do my work rather than work for others.

Last night I booked a holiday for the summer, but I have had to cancel it because of my phobia of frogs.  I had read a lot of the reviews but after I booked it I read a few more and in one particular one it mentioned the pond and how there were lots of frogs jumping around.  That was it, I had to cancel as I knew it would be on my mind and I wouldn't be able to go into the garden.  I will keep looking though and hopefully find something suitable and somewhere we can relax.

Another day done and closer to the half term.  Another busy one as still lots of sickness around.

I met with my best friend for lunch and a good natta today.  I had a great time and put the world to rights.  It was therapy that we both needed.

I have put the heating on this evening as its too cold.  Last night we didn't have it on and it was so cold upstairs when I went to bed.  I was shivering in bed until under the covers and snuggled up.  Still feels cold even with the heating on at the moment, so will go to bed before long and watch tv there.  Showers first though

Happy Thursday everyone, its nearly the weekend.  I had the heating and water on last night as we had people round and when I went to bed I found a wet mark on my bedroom floor.  I called the plumber and has been round for a very quick look.  Its not gushing but he can see where it is damp.  He didnt seem too concerned and from where it was he was a little puzzled.  He thinks it may have been from the bathroom next door, but the only problem is, is that no one actually had a shower last night so not sure how that would be.  The carpet felt like it was warm water.  Anyway he has given me a few things to try out to see if that is the issue, or if water starts gushing to let him know.  It was only by chance that I moved a piece of clothing and came across it.  Anyway he didn't charge me for putting my mind slightly at rest

Hi! Belated happy birthday! I’ve been losing track of the threads since new year as there’s so many new ones!

Water in the middle of the bedroom sounds strange. Is there any sign of a leak in the ceiling underneath? Have you had any cats or dogs around that may have done a piddle lol?

It’s a shame about your holiday. Hopefully you’ll find something else to book before the time comes. I used to always have one booked by now but I need to pay down the credit cards etc before I think of booking holidays xxx

Thank you FtbDreaming.  I did wonder about the cats as they have been known to do similar before, but I had moved a pile of papers and clothes that had been there for a while and it was damp (and warm) under that so pretty sure it wasn't the cats.  It also had no smell - again I  thought I should make sure lol.  It's near the wall that is attached to the bathroom and he thinks it may be coming from there, so he suggests keeping an eye on it when someone has a shower, and then when the heating is on.  He seemed to think it didn't follow the natural line the pipes would take for the radiators, so more likely to be from the bathroom.  If it had been cold and damp I would have agreed, but because we had had people round no showers were had so how could it be warm water?  Its a mystery but we will try to figure it out
