I honestly can't work out how to get my children dressed and clean before 9am. Tomorrow is going to be hell. Wish you the best with it. We are going to need it! XxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Well only one more day to go until the weekend. Mornings are hard work and we don't like getting up when it's dark, but so far we have all been on time. We went out this evening to the children's club which I thought started back tonight, but got there to find the hall filled with blood donners. Guess I need to re-read the email that was sent. I was however happy to get back to the sofa and my blankets as it's so cold and started raining. I have a thermometer next to the sofa and it was down to 13 earlier - no wonder I was cold even with my coat on. Anyway now we are home the heating is on and the room is heating up a bit more.
Yesterday was the funeral for my best friends husband. I hadn't been sleeping very well but didn't realise that the funeral had been the reason why. I slept so much better last night and felt a relief almost. My friend and the children did so well to stay composed while there and I am hoping she has had a chilled out day today. I am hoping for a early ish night but need to wait for the tumble dryer to finish first as I don't like leaving it on while in bed, just in case. Need clean and dry clothes for work tomorrow lol.
Watching some repeats of things on tv as its easy watching and I don't need to pay too much attention and can play on my laptop at the same time.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Yay it's the weekend. I am feeling like I need the rest even though it was only a 4 day week.
I have this evening cashed out £20 and a few pence from the survey site. I will change it into vouchers as soon as it hits the bank, ready for next Christmas. DD2 also won a £25 premium bond this week which she was thrilled about. She has decided to get some more with the winnings.
I popped into supermarket to get more cat biscuits and went a little overboard on special buys there. Need to stick to my list more otherwise the budget will go out of the window. Nothing much planned over the weekend and I think only milk needed as I didn't realise earlier.
I have this evening also contacted the builder as hoping he is now back to work and able to give us a clue on which week in January he might turn up. I need a little notice as need to empty the girls room into the garage and other rooms, and then remove the carpet etc. This is going to take a while so some notice would be really helpful. I am concerned he might put it off for yet another month. Its only a fairly small job in his list of building works and I guess not as profitable as major building work he can do elsewhere, but he agreed to do it. Fingers crossed everyone

What a yucky wet day. I have already dropped DD1 off at work, and shortly going to drop DD2 off at a party / sleepover. I am going to go through a box of paperwork and try to pop it in either the shredder or the filing cabinet.
We have chicken stew tonight as it wasn't ready last night in time for hungry children. Looking forward to that later tonight as will be lovely and warm and filling. Just what we need on a day like this.
I need to get to the library as I have reserved a book by the batch lady (think that's what she calls herself). It was recommended on someones diary and after looking online at her website it might work for me. Will be nice to look through her book and get a plan in place. I love our library and wish more people would use it. I don't read story books as don't enjoy reading, but information books I will read. I think its great to be able to borrow them for free, and if its no good, I haven't wasted lots of money. When the children were younger we used to be there all the time doing crafts and singing groups and looking at book. I was determined that they would like books even though I do not. 1 out of 3 still does, but she doesn't have a phone yet!
OK I'm off to get DD2 moving or we will be lateMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I have watched some of her videos on Utube and she does all the shopping from Aldi I think. It’s worth a watch.🎊Debt Free 8 Jan 2022[/center]🎉

I have been watching the batch lady YouTube videos and that's what encouraged me to get her book out of the library. I collected it and there are a few recipes that I hadn't seen, but a lot of it was based on the videos (wouldn't have bought the book with my money, so happy I've only borrowed it).
Still no news from the builder - if no news by next week I will give him another call. How much asking for a date is seen as hassling him (don't want to scare him away, but really would like a rough date). So many things are on hold until the rooms are done and have been for so long.
I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning so it will need to be a reasonably early night tonight. I actually got lots of the little jobs done that were beginning to build up in my in tray. I felt like I achieved things today which was good. Lots of the teachers are already tired and one of them described it feeling like week 4 or 5 of term not just a few days in. Hopefully the children will settle down soon (it takes our children a few weeks to get back into the routine each half term), and the rest of the half term will whizz by.
There is a lot of tidying and cleaning that i need to do around the house. Possibly visitors turning up at the weekend due to a bday in the house. Need to have at least downstairs ready to let people in by thenMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well I've heard from the builder at last - his response was 'towards the end of the month'. Its very vague but as we are a third of the way through the month I am assuming towards the end must be the third part of the month, so its kind of a plan!
I also asked the solar panel people when they might appear and I have a date of 25th March for the roof survey. It's a start if nothing elseMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Another NSD here, and I have paid an extra £100, on top of my usual payment, off the loan from my Uncle (which replaced the mortgage). I will keep paying off little extra bits to get rid of the debt / mortgage.
Its been a good yet busy day at work, and feel like I am getting the hang of the bits I have never done before. Am tired and not feeling like cleaning (which needs doing) when I got home.
We received the options booklet from school today for DS. He is not keen on school so unless they suddenly add gcse's on dinosaurs or xbox, he has no idea what to choose. I did wonder if he would be allowed to opt for the extra english rather than another language, so we can do everything possible to pass that (as it will be this that he struggles with due to his dyslexia). The school have not chosen this path for him, so now to decide if we should ask for that or go with the option the school have suggested.
