I hope everyone has had a good first day of 2022.  We have yet again been busy doing not a lot, but having some relaxing time watching films and doing the puzzles we received for Christmas.  Lunch was leftovers in the fridge that needed using up and dinner was a quick something out of the freezer straight into the oven as I forgot to defrost anything earlier in the day.  An added bonus of not leaving the house has meant that we have not spent anything again.  It dawned on me that it is only a few days until I go back to work.  We are going to need to work on waking up before 10am over the next few days I feel lol

Well sleep did not come easy last night for no real reason, but feel I'm going to be snoozing  or wanting to really early on tonight.  It was gone 4 after I finished tossing and turning last night.  It's a daddy day today so they have all gone off.  I need to do some washing and sort dinner and get the Christmas decorations down, but first I need a shower.  That does however involve moving lol. Have a good day everyone :)

Well I slept well last night once I was able to sleep, but made myself wake up at usual work time as I knew it was going to prove difficult tomorrow if I didn't.  I am sitting here wishing to go back to bed as am very tired.  I can't so must just get on.
Yesterday I managed to get the decorations put away for another year, sorted dinner and got the washing done (just a little to do today).  Todays jobs are to make the house look presentable, find clothes for work and funeral on wed, get something out of the freezer for easy dinner and stay awake lol.  I need to make sure all children have PE kits and school bags sorted rather than waking up wed and scrambling to find everything - only I'm back at work tomorrow, the children have a PD Day. One other job is to get security camera connected to Wi-Fi again.  It must have been turned off at some point and now I can't get it to connect.  Need to go back to the instructions as electrician set it up originally.  Need to jolly DS along with his homework.  Its art and all he needs to do is his own version of the picture, so drawing and colouring.  Seems easy enough but he is putting anything school  related off.  I also need him to start thinking about which subjects he would like to do as he is choosing his GCSE's this term, and 'none of them' is not an option!  Another job is to find a new bulb for wax melter as that's just gone - sure I ordered more than one last time it went.
Ok the caffeine is kicking in a little so must get on.  Have a great day everyone :)

Ok so quick sit down with more caffeine (cant believe I am so tired today).  First lot of washing is in the machine, wax melter mended (DS had taken plug out of the socket!), DS looking at his homework which is a start I suppose and 1 out of 3 PE kits bagged ready to go.  Still plenty more to get sorted but feel its going to be a slow day and hope things get sorted.

I have another little possible DIY to add to my list of things l would like to do to the house.  I've always wanted white windows and doors but we just replaced like with like years ago so have brown upvc windows.  I have recently found out that with special paint, you can paint them any colour you like.  I would only paint the insides with white, (as the brown looks right outside) but then I could also do the internal doors, skirting boards, window sills etc and things would be so much lighter and brighter .  I realise it will be a long job with so much dark wood in the house, but if I am decorating anyway why not go for the complete look that I want.  I obviously have too much time on my hands as keep coming up with other ideas.

I need a solution to the ever growing paperwork as well.  I need to go through things and see what I actually need to keep and then have a mammoth shredding session or ask dad to burn a bag for me. I do have a single drawer filing cabinet but wondering if I need one slightly bigger.  Perhaps once everything is sorted there wont be that much left to store.

Right back to nagging DS :)

More jobs on your list. What are you like? Paperwork is a good one to sort. I have a concertina file and each bit is a different thing. Once I've sorted it out I put it in a polypocket thing in the compartment then chuck the loose bits relating to that bill or action in there to be sorted next time. Would that work for you?
I'm super tired too. I think its the recovering from covid but other people seem to be exhausted and have brains like sieves too so it might just be the lockdown loco?
I need to do a run around and tidy in my house now but I'm too angry that no one else did it earlier when they had 3 hours with nothing to do. Hope your house looks better than mine xxx

Kitten I'm still going with the 'sorry you cant come in because of the risk of covid' line to stop visitors entering and stopping them seeing the mess lol.  House not tidy as yet but keep doing little bits so hopefully one day.  And yes I've obviously had nothing much to do as I keep finding more jobs to do.  It's a good job I've been back to work today - as expected it was hard to wake up, but I did it.  Tomorrow I need to wake up the children too - tried this morning and didn't get very far.  Took a little while to remember where I got to before the end of term and the lady I needed to speak with was actually in training so didn't get very far - always tomorrow.
Went into town to bank the children's Christmas money after work today so another job off the list.  All homework has been completed and all bags are ready for their return to school tomorrow.  It's getting colder this evening and after standing outside talking to neighbour for a bit I was glad to get back inside.  Now under my blanket feeling chilly, so heating may go on in a little while.
