I'm certainly hoping it will make a difference as being on part time wages and universal credits is already making it hard enough to find one, plus the fact we had a DMP too.  But I am positive, and I know what I can afford.  I will not be going over that amount.  I really cant wait to see overpayments bring it down quicker than planned.

Perhaps look at MovingForwards diary - she overcame big obstacles to buy a first home.

Quick update - I have just received a £50 cheque from an old bank account I no longer use, as they have given me bad service.  I haven't checked yet but I think it was one of the ones I got my PPI refund on.  Either way I have banked it and will put it towards one of the savings pots I have.  A nice little extra in the post this morning :)

Watching and waiting on the news re schools.  Been a busy day news wise hasn't it.  I can see that secondary schools may be postponed a little while longer, but DD2 is at primary school and I feel she will be going in on Monday as previously planned.  I also think preschool will still be open so I will still be needed.  If schools are closed a little longer I may ask to work just mornings so I can at least home school them in the pm, while still doing my hours at work, as I have been told I need to be in, even though I can work from home.  For my children the initial lockdown was great.  We did so much learning and they did every single piece of work set. DS who has struggled at school was so much happier and learnt so much more than if he had been at school.  I realise we are not the 'normal' according to the government, but we were happy.  We will see what happens shortly

It's hard to know what to wish for other than an end to the constant chopping and changing brought on by c19. Hope you're happy whatever the outcome for schools
