Never got to the shops for food - maybe this evening? - managed to find enough odds and ends to keep us fed.  Got some sausages out of the freezer for tonights dinner and will probably just have those with chips and beans for a quick and easy meal.

The house looks worse at the moment than it did this morning, but things are either making their way out of the house or to the correct room.  Other than a trip to the dr tomorrow with DD2 for yearly check-up and prescription the day will again be spent sorting areas out and cleaning. Think so far only my room is ready.  Booked another trip to the tip on Friday to get rid of things collected between now and then.  That way we wont fill the bin in the first few days after it had been emptied today.

Finding it very hard to get into cleaning mode today as I know no one has booked in for Saturday and I am tired.   Asked DD1 to clean her corner of the living rooms so I could get that room sorted and finished but she has decided that her bedroom needs sorting first.  Kitchen could be done I guess and out of the way (dont like cleaning kitchen as it never lasts), but I feel that it will only end up in a mess and I would need to try again tomorrow.  Need to plan a non smelly meal with little mess for tomorrow, so that house will be ready to show for Sat am.  I am thinking salad, potatoes and chicken.  Not sure about today.

I did manage to do a full shop today and so we have a full fruit bowl, bread drawer and fridge.  Actual real food.  I used my voucher from school so only needed to top it up by £12 ish.  The trolly was full.  Realised when I got home that I had bought boned chicken drumsticks rather than thighs.  Not great but hoping in the curry it will still be ok - we normally buy breast but in an attempt to be a bit better with food budget I was going to do thighs instead.

Window cleaner turned up at the right time too so that worked well.  Sold mirror on FB and it will be collected tonight hopefully - another few pounds to add to the pot.  Got another agent coming out on Tuesday to talk to us, so will need to keep the house reasonably tidy until then.  By this point we will be off the books of current agent.

OK need to carry on as time is running away.

Floors have been mopped, surfaces dusted and cobwebs gone.  I have a few finishing touches tomorrow morning but I think we are near enough ready.  I have reduced the price today by 2% so that people get notified of the price change and that we are having an open house tomorrow.  In the summary it still says guide price 274-280K so still aiming for the most we can get.  When I spoke to the agent they had had 1 person ring up and ask about the house, but not leave any contact details.  To be honest this is the most positive action that we have had to date this time round.  This was also before the price reduction so maybe they will turn up?  Everyone keep all fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow please.

I was hoping to go and look at a house in almost the perfect location tomorrow, but they ended up calling us and asked if we could go round today instead.  We did and it would be great.  We would still need to convert the garage for DS's room, and the kitchen and bathroom suites would need updating but it would be an ongoing project.  We would still be able to live in it from the start.  It is more our price range and in the village that my dad lives in which I like.  To convert the garage we might need planning permission, but as the 2 houses next to us have also done this I cant see that there would be an issue (fingers crossed again).  The house used to belong to a hoarder and the agent mentioned that the whole house was full to the brim, up to head height.  It took a long time to clear and has since had a thorough cleaning which means it would be ready to go straight away, although we would also be doing a clean first.

Time for bed as will need to be up early to finish the last few finishing touches off and to make sure the children are up and ready to go.  Night to you all

Thank you to you all for your best wishes.  Unfortunately no one turned up.  The event ran from 10-11.  As the estate agent arrived she told me she would stay until 10.30 and if no one had been by then she would go (we had to be out of the house for the hour).  I said but it is on until 11.  Apparently if no one has turned up by 10.30 then they weren't going to.  On this occasion maybe she was right but not everyone would come straight away. We returned as she was leaving in case anyone else did come, and then I would have shown then around. I am glad we are done with them.

DD1 has popped the link onto the fb pages for around here.  The house is tidy and clean and maybe someone will call to look round later.  For now I am just going to relax in my clean home and sulk just a little.

I will catch up on some washing with the free electricity between 2 and 3 and get it on the line this afternoon.  It is mainly cleaning cloths, but it will be done.

Looks like today will be another hot one.  Any washing will be done and popped onto the line.  Other than that not much else is happening today.  Keeping fingers crossed that the interest from DD1's fb post might result in a call from the agents.  Working on appointing the next lot - have ruled it down to 2.

The new house at the bottom of the garden has a new kitten - lovely little ginger cat that is not at all phased by my two cats hissing at him.  Found him in my kitchen earlier and scooted him back out again.  I really do not need my cats marking their territory by spraying everywhere right now.

DD1 has managed to sort work and uni situation out so hopefully we are back on track with that.

I know what is for dinner tonight.  I find half the battle is knowing what I am making each day.

Well this afternoon we by in a flash.  Lined up a few agents for tomorrow and then the one that was top of my list suggested coming round this afternoon to take photos as I finish with current agent tomorrow.  He can then get it up and running by Wed at the latest.  'I'll see you in about half an hour'.....'er ok, bye'.  So made half an hour getting things set up for photos, pillows plumped, beds made, washing up in the dishwasher etc.  It was a good job we had had the open day on Sat so the house was still fairly tidy.  Photos taken and details collected.  Now fingers crossed he does a better job than the last one.  I have cancelled one of the appointments for tomorrow but need to find the email for the other or remember to call in the morning.

He also noticed that my driving licence runs out in Nov, so I have just renewed that.  I had always assumed I had 10 years from the point I changed my name after divorce - guess not.  Hopefully now it is all done and dusted until I move house at least.

At least the decision has been made and it is 1 less thing to think about.
