Depending on the repair cost could you claim on house insurance ?

It's possible. I dropped it off just after 9 and he does have 1 screen that might be right (some have 3 pins and others 4 so needs to check if he has the right one). Cost 130 to 150 depending on if he needs to order one but will let me know as soon as he knows. If it's the correct one in stock he should call me later today saying it's ready. If not it might be a few days. Either way still cheaper than new laptop. I don't actually know my excess on home insurance which is really bad but never claimed on it before.

Waiting for mortgage man to ring and see if he can help more than my bank. Typically all my figures are on the laptop so quickly written down all my DDs from bank statement. Not ideal but it's how it is.

Just heard from computer shop. Not compatible with the screen they had so confirmed to order. £130 and ready hopefully Wednesday.

Washing done, DD2 ready for school (so she says). Need to sort my bag next and shower then off to bed for early night and hopefully a better night's sleep.

Got letter / email from child maintenance people. XH not paid over his few pounds this week but they are chasing him. Knew he would slip up soon as always did. At least this time I don't need to fight for it as they already are.

It looks like it is about to tip it down outside.

Day 1 done and I am broken. Will be a quick easy dinner as body aches and I am exhausted. It will take a week to get back into the routine after having been lazy for 2 weeks.

Needed to buy bread for the shared lunch I somehow ended up organising, so not a no spend but did have a discount and a very nice lunch.

No clubs tonight so can rest. It's days like this that I miss a nice hot bubble bath

Had a much more relaxing day but mainly because I met with my friend all afternoon and had a good catch up with no children around.  Also I am now typing on my laptop with its new screen - Yay.  I have missed it.  Dad also posted that he was at the airport this morning, so will now be on his way home.

DD1 was home today and the meal that was in the slow cooker ended up on the floor as the washing machine had vibrated it off the worktop.  She felt so bad that she went to the shops and bought more, filled it up again and it smells good.  Normally we move things off the work surfaces if using the washing machine, but because I normally do it, she didn't think until she heard it fall.  It was an almighty crash but at least the slow cooker didn't break which I was amazed at.

Feeling very happy that I am still awake and feeling ok tonight compared to last night.

Took a half day to try to use some of my time in lieu up.  Dad just called from the UK airport as he needed the number for his taxi driver that they couldn't see!  Heard that he is now on his way back to the house - yay.

I need to sort the house out and get ready for sports club later.

DD1 had another issue this morning with her washing as the tumble dryer was playing up as it sometimes does, but those of us who do the washing on a regular basis (only me!) know how to fix it.  Sometime it sticks a little and needs a manual move of the drum to get things moving.  If not it starts to smell a little smokey.  She has now decided washing is not for her lol.  I will re-teach with further instructions, but yay she ended up putting the washing on the line for free drying instead which is much better (athough needs some lessons in pegging it out too).

No money spent today - yay :)

Benefits payment day today so will move money around later.  Last day of work and then I have a viewing at one house that is on the market (just curious as there is no floorplan or room sizes available).  I then have a mortgage meeting that was rearranged from the other day.  I also need to have a quick zoom call at some point to show sports club people my dbs paperwork id bits.

One of the cats didn't come in last night which makes me nervous.  On the odd occasion when this happens it normally means they are at the door first thing, but he wasn't.  I am guessing he is shut in somewhere.  Hoping he is set free soon and back here by the time I get home.

I best get ready for work

Yay our cat has returned.  He was waiting for me when I got home at lunchtime, but is a little jumpy, so guessing he was somewhere he shouldn't be.

Completed my online food shop earlier.  I am ordering the same things each week give or take a few bits and the price is most definitely going up. I was spending around £75 but now its almost £100.  I did restock the cat food but that was all that was really different.

Just returned from looking at a house.  It would need a lot of work doing to it, but the room sizes are decent, even the one that has the stairs bulk head in it.  Took my tape measure with me but forgot to use it.  It would need new kitchen, bathrooms, floorboards upstairs (as felt in patches that I could fall through to downstairs at any point) and carpets / flooring throughout.  The plants in the front garden would need to be removed to allow for parking, and the wall in the back garden needs replacing as there was a large crack in the corner that you could see through. If it was on for a much cheaper amount, then maybe but I think it would be better for someone with a decent pot of money to spend on it rather than my very small amount.  Shame as if you look past the dated / broken bits it could become a lovely house.

Anyway the next item on todays list is the meeting with the mortgage man in about 5 min so I best get off here and find bits of paperwork that might be asked for

I have moved my money around and I have made a final (if I have added it up correctly) debt payment.  I will give them a call next week and double check that the balance has now been cleared.  Hopefully I am debt free again

The sun finally decided to come out so some washing went on the line.  Most of it has dried but the rest has been hung inside now.  Hopefully more will go on the line tomorrow too.

Looked around another house in our price range - was the one we had the most hope for but not anymore.  It smelt of weed and everything would need ripping out and starting again.  Id prefer to do that to the one yesterday, because that had at least been looked after.  The pictures we very deceiving and the rooms were much smaller than expected.  I know we haven't even sold yet but if these are the best out there I really don't know what we would do if someone were to make us an offer.

DD1 and DS are working tomorrow so might take DD2 out into town.  I need to return some library books and would like a little look round.  We will have a quick clean up and weed the garden again.  We also need to get to see my Dad at some point, although we will see him Monday as he is taking DD2 to the dentist for a filling.
