@slm6002 there's a parking board on here covering 'fines'.  I put the word in inverted commas as the vast majority are speculative invoices, unenforceable.   The government is looking at practices in the sector.  @Coupon-mad is sitting on the government committee to represent consumers and she is a prolific poster on that board.  Can I suggest you head over there. Love Humdinger xx

Thank you @Humdinger1 I will head over there and have a look.  If we had known that there was a time limit would have kept an eye on the time.  I have already put in my appeal so will see what comes of that - keeping fingers crossed that it will be the end of it.

Hello @debtfreewannabe321 we have had absolutely no interest at all.  We have now been on the market for a month (almost as 2 days away).  We are still 1 of the 2 lowest priced 4 beds on the market in the area, and those above us are starting to reduce their prices nearer to ours.  Even the one we would like has reduced their price, although they have been on the market for over a year and only reduced the price by 10k in that time.  We need them to go down further to be able to afford it really.  Guess we can always make them an offer when the time comes.  The one we looked at that needed lots of work has also reduced, but not quite enough to make me consider it as yet.

I am sat on the sofa with my big hoodie on and under a blanket as it looks like it is about to rain again and is really chilly.  Think it will be an easy pasta dinner tonight as it has been a long day.  No clubs tonight so will be showers and early nights all round.  Heard about some staff changes today which were a little out of the blue, and the one we were expecting hasn't been announced as yet, although not sure it will be long before it is.

Heard from the 1 competition to say my smellies have been dispatched and will possibly arrive tomorrow.  There is a candle, a hand cream, perfume and some bath oil.  The bath oil can be gifted to my sister I think as we don't have a bath anymore.  Might send a cheeky email to the other one as it has been a while now and I haven't received it yet.

Forgot to say that DD1 saw her dad on Sunday and he completely blanked her. He definitely saw her but just turned away.  I cant believe that man, and I know if asked he will say I've turned the kids against him.

Thankfully she knows she is loved by my side of the family, but it still hurts.

It looks like the sun has finally returned,  which I am glad of as I nearly caved last night and turned the heating on, as it was so cold.  I sat under my blanket instead.

Hopefully I can use some of my extra time off today and get home to put a load of washing on the line at lunch time.  Club later so will need to sort something for dinner - not sure what as yet but it will need to be quick.  Might be jacket potatoes I think.

Really would like to get a call from the estate agents soon to say people are wanting to look round.  There is a lovely large plot of land in a good place that has a bungalow on it.  It is only 3 bedroom and needs completely stripping out, but so much potential and could stay there until very old age as it is a bungalow.  We will see, maybe the interest rate going down and the mortgages being slightly cheaper will encourage people to come have a look.

Right I better get off to work :)

So sorry to hear this - how awful for her
I am sure she knows intellectually it’s him being weird and nothing to do with her but still it  must hurt

Well done on the prizes !

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you @LadyWithAPlan, XH is a wally and will regret it one day, but think it will be too late for him by then.  DD1 knows it's not her, but it still hurts.

Well my smellies have arrived and the smell is quite strong, but will see if it grows on me.  I can't decide if it is too much like my grans perfume for my liking.

The sun disappeared and the dark clouds returned so decide to wait until tomorrow and hope that the sun comes back out. I got home to rubbish from moving boxes being blown all over the place.  The people out the back are moving more bits in but have no bins from what I can see so it is all over the place.  When I left to collect DD2 the builders were again blocking me in and removing the rubbish themselves, but wouldn't move out of the way.  I really can't wait to go.  DD2 overheard the mum telling the screaming child that the big things are arriving tomorrow so no doubt we will be blocked in again at some point.

I worked out that if I only work mornings until the summer holidays, it will leave me about 20 hours still to use up.  I am also in early for exams for a few of the days so extra time will get added back on but it would at least make a big dent in my hours owed and also give me lots of afternoons off.  I need to run the idea past those in charge but I think they will be keen.

Right time to get ready for club

Well it is the weekend and DD1 has gone off on her little holiday with BF and another couple.  She has been on the phone to me more than if she was at home.  I am looking forward to enjoying some sunshine and getting the house straight again.

Work went quickly and I got a big job finished just in time before I left which I was happy about.  I was unable to discuss the time off as manager was working from home today, but I think she will be keen for me to do it if it is possible.

Unfortunately had to ask new neighbours to park on their drive and not on mine as there was no where else for me to park (and it is my drive), which even though I was polite and it was a reasonable request (or so I thought) they seemed to take offence.  I really do need to move asap.  Other neighbours say they are paying £1500 a month and that is after a discount.  It is a tiny house built in a bad location with little to no garden.

Woke up early again so towels, bedding and clothes are on the line drying. Trying to get it all dried before the bbqs start later today.

Pulled pork currently cooking away in the slow cooker ready for later.  It is one of DS's favourite but DD1 not keen, so while she is not here I thought we would enjoy it.  Could use some bits to go with it so I may take a little walk to the shops later.  Although I probably do need to do a supermarket shop at some point this weekend.

I have booked to look at the bungalow that I like, to see if it is as good in person as on paper.  Also needing to see what would need doing to start with to make it liveable and see if it is realistic and affordable.  I am sure with unlimited money it would be wonderful but my budget is tighter.  It is with the same agents as I am selling with so maybe they will make a big effort to sell mine too if they know I want to buy?  It will also give me a buyers perspective into their services.

A day of pottering around for me I think.  Homework helping, some weeding in the garden and then so decluttering I think.  Oh and I still need to decide on my home insurance as that is getting closer to renewal time.

Not liking the even earlier wake up for me - 5.30 this morning and I am going to need a nap later as still sleepy, but I have things to be up early(not that early though) for today.

I am shortly off to collect my free compost from the local council.  Never managed to get there in other years, but I have some pots I need to fill so thought why not.  Hopefully the whole process will be quick as then I will need to wake DS for work (already tried and it is not happening so will need to try again once home).  I will then go to get the food shop, come home, scan and put it away, and then wash DD1s bedding and anything else I can find, while we have the opportunity to dry it for free.

Right I best go and join the queue for compost :)
