Just having a quick sit down before we venture off out for the morning.  We are going to a local village / small town that has lots of old houses and we used to go to a lot when I was a child.  I don't think I have been there since.  Hopefully it will be a fun morning out.

Tonight we are off out for another meal (don't think it is really necessary and I was happy to cook, but there we go).  I scrambled round yesterday trying to find somewhere with space and food everyone will like. I know mums OH will not enjoy it as its more of a help yourself that being waited on hand and foot, but there we go.

Will make the most of seeing mum as they are off home tomorrow afternoon.  Also need to prepare for going back to school Monday.  Could have done with an extra week off to be honest

Just dropped mum and OH off for their nap.  Will collect them again this evening for our meal.  We had a good walk around the village this morning which was nice.  The weather is finally behaving.

Need to do a few odd jobs and then write a shopping list.  Running out of basics like milk and toilet rolls so a shop will be done tomorrow after they leave.  Will need lunch bits too for next week.

Might just catch up on here for a few minutes more first

Mum is on the plane heading home and I have spent the day cleaning up around the house, food shopping, homework helping and anything other than resting, or at least that is what it feels like.  We saw a couple walking very slowly past our house having a good look so maybe a potential viewer?  Thought I should get a head start on the cleaning just in case.  I do need to cut the grass though, but that will have to wait until my next free afternoon.

Back to school tomorrow, 7 weeks to go until the long holiday break.  Lots of change and things going on in that time.  I just need to keep going.  DS and I are suffering from sore throats today and hoping it is just a bit of hay fever rather than anything else.  Also hoping that it disappears very soon.

I forgot to turn the oven on so dinner is delayed a little.  After that I will be in bed and no doubt be asleep very quickly tonight

First day done and was a fairly easy one, although several key members of staff off sick.  Going to try for half days again this half term as much as I can.

Just after I put a load of washing on 1 could see grey clouds.  Wondered if it was worth putting it on the line?  I did and will try and keep an eye out.  I just want to have a snooze though but will hold on until bed time.  Throat sore still lingering but DS's seemed a bit better this morning as he came down stairs smiling on his way to catch his bus.

DD1's interview didn't go well apparently as they kept asking her questions and then saying don't worry you wouldn't know the answer unless you worked here.  Seems a little odd.  They liked her presentation though.  She is not holding out much hope but I said you never knows as sometimes it is the personality of the person rather than the experience - especially as this is a role they advertised as a learning role and no prior knowledge needed.  We will find out Friday either way.  Turns out the girl we live down the road from also works there so they could car share too until we move.

Just called the college as the exam DS did on the last day, he ran out of time because he thought he had an extra half and hour.  Because people started at different times and some had extra time he got confused and thought his finish time was the last to finish but in reality it wasn't.  Anyway the invigilator will now tell DS when he is due to finish and he can write it down and hopefully adjust the length of his answers to the right amount of time.  It is very different for him because in the high school he had his own room to himself but now there are many in his room, all with different allowances

DD2 has band tonight and DD1 is at BF's house so it will be a quick mac 'n' cheese for dinner, then club, then bed.  No money spent today though which is good.  Going to see how many I can do this month.

Half way through the week.  I need to be in early as I am helping with the exams this morning.  I am still feeling ill and coughing and spluttering so not sure they will really want me in a room with them, but I am very aware there are not many other options which is why I was trained up in the first place.

No clubs tonight so can just flop on the sofa when I am home, or into bed if needed.  I was supposed to be meeting a friend this afternoon but have told her I have a cold so up to her if she wants to risk catching it.  I think I would rather rearrange and just sleep but she seems happy to still meet.

Right I best get moving and have some breakfast otherwise my tummy will be rumbling in exam.  That on top of me coughing and spluttering would not be great

Well I am on the sofa early as work sent me home straight after the exam.  My computer is also not working so it seemed the most sensible idea.  I bought some very disgusting cough medicine on the way to work so it must be good if the taste is anything to go by.  Not seeing much affect as yet though.  Meet up with friend cancelled until I am feeling better which is a shame.  Going to have a snooze

Thank you to you both.  I still don't feel great and go from freezing cold to boiling hot frequently.  Body aching on top of coughing and sneezing.  I am inclined to call in sick tomorrow and have another day in bed / sofa.  Work will cope without me for the day I am sure.  I would like to go back for the next exam on friday but I guess it will all depend.  DD1 has been playing mum and making sure we are all fed and ok.

Oh no I'm sorry you're sick slm, I'm also off ill. All of us have had a horrid sick bug here, hot and cold shivers alongside it. Not nice. I think I'll go back in tomorrow just to limit my sick days but I'm wary of kids taking their GCSEs and don't want to make them sick. Hope you're feeling well soon ♥️
