Home at lunchtime again. Took the opportunity to call the mortgage dept at the bank. I now know the top amount that I can borrow as well as how much it will cost each month. Am I crazy taking on another mortgage and tying myself into more debt for the next 21 years (although I would find ways to overpay hopefully).
I am going to hoover the stairs and hall, and then the living room. I will then go to the tip with the rubbish already collected and then come home to clean the kitchen. That will then leave the bathrooms and garden for Friday and Saturday morning.
DS has had his access arrangements appointment this morning and it sounds like he is disappointed with the results. No details given as yet but when asked if it went ok all I got was 'NO'. Guess I will hear more later today.
Right I had better get hooveringMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Its chilly tonight. Might go to bed soon so I don't need to put the heating on.
Managed to do quite a bit today, but still more to do tomorrow in between work and looking at the house. I don't want to have much at all to do on Saturday morning.
Tomorrow is also payday. Money is looking ok currently, and will be putting money in my many pots tomorrow. I guess my DIY kitchen savings pot may turn into a moving fees pot.

DD2's school has a gas leak so is closed for the day. My work / school is right next to it and was really hoping ours might have been effected too. Could have really made good use of the day off. No sign of that yet though
Will have a half day and then tidy, look at house, tidy some more. First I need to get the stew in the slow cooker thoughMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Almost there. Need to mop the kitchen floor in the morning, still have shower room to do and if time outside areas. They may have to use their imaginations for outside. The house looks clear of clutter mostly and where there are things they are neatly stacked on shelves. Still need DD1 to do the rest of her room when she returns or in the morning most likely.
Dishwasher needs to go on again and the washing machine needs to go on too so that DD2's bedding is clean and she can make her bed.
We went to look at the house that we like. I still like it although it was smaller than the pictures suggested. There is a lot of cosmetic work mainly that will need doing, that the pictures hid well. The trains we unable to be heard inside so not an issue for me, and even in the open were not too bad so sleeping with the windows open at night would probably be fine too. They have replaced the fence alongside the track since taking the pictures (they were looking quite wobbly). Certainly some potential there. Agent suggested that it was a popular listing (as they would) but several people had not wanted to do the work, or said the train bothered them. One said the garden was too small - its not and is bigger than our current one. If we decide to sell, and if it is still for sale if we find buyers, then I will certainly consider it, but there are lots of ifs at the moment.
I best get on with the dishwasher, as I need a shower and an early nightMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

With just under an hour to spare I have completed the cleaning of the house. Outside will have to wait as I am sitting for a little while so I don't look exhausted when they arrive. It is shown in its best light if nothing else. DD1 and her BF ate the breakfast outside as I was having no crumbs in the house by the time they woke up. DD1 has now gone off to work for 12 hours so the house will stay clean for at least that long.
If we cant move we will at least have a clean and decluttered house to enjoy.
For the next hour I will be trying to put together an online shop as food is a little lacking and no idea what we are having for dinner. Lunch might be once everyone has gone too. I did nip to lidl for some cheap flowers for the kitchen earlier and picked up some bread so can muster together a sandwich of some kind.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Perhaps that’s what I need to do to incentivise me to declutter !Sealed pot challenge 822

Well yes it has certainly focused me lol. Several boxes have gone from the house in the decluttering. Some to the charity box at the tip and others to the garage for sorting at a later date. I don't think I have done too badly for a weeks worth. Some drawers and the loft have been filled with stuff to sort so over the next few weeks I need to go through these boxes and either work out where to put them or get rid of them. Luckily the 2 trips to the tip in a week seems to have been lifted and now only applies to trade.
Well both agents have come up with the same price but both basing it on a 3 bed house in the area rather than a 4 bed. Not as much as I had been expecting as I had been basing it on the 4 beds in the area. Both were quite impressed with the way we had done things up. And even the smallest room looked decent as the wardrobe was built in so everything you need is in there.
Just need to keep the house clean until Monday afternoon now. We may have my friends daughter to stay with us tonight as her grandad is off to hospital with a suspected heart attack. Not sure what we will eat as yet, plus still not finished my online shop. Need to do that next.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Woken to a beautifully sunny day even if I did have to scrape the ice off the car before taking DS to work this morning. I have a headache but think it is because I had a lovely lie in and then realised he had to be at work in 20 min, so a quick get up and go. We made it on time though so all is well. My bed just seemed extra comfy this morning.
Came to the realisation that if the house is worth the price given to me by the 2 agents (probably quite likely) then we are unlikely able to move at the moment. I would need to win the lottery or find a rich husband - neither of which are likely to happen lol. I don't see any point moving somewhere where we would be worse off just for the sake of moving, even though I really want to be gone from this road. I guess that is the problem now I have made the house as I like it over the past few years, it is just the location that is needing changing and maybe slightly bigger rooms but nothing else.
Looked last night at what would be needed for the drop curb in front garden - not sure we could get the 2 cars there as I don't think it is wide enough, plus it would block some light into the lounge which is already quite dark. It might also interfere with next door as their window would look out on to the cars. If we park in the back the gates will need to be open and I will get visitors walking in my garden and back door again so no privacy. We would need to move the fence higher up the driveway to allow privacy.
Really unsure what to do for the best, but also know that we probably only have a few weeks left before our parking is taken away from us after 20 years, so time is against us.
Leaving on a positive note, the house remains tidy and clutter free. Just doing washing as that is all that needs doing so far. I managed to miss the slot for the online shop, so will need to do that today. I also want to attempt to make some porridge pots as we have all of the ingredients already. It will work out cheaper than buying the pots every time and will solve the breakfast problem (I don't feel like breakfast, until the minute I walk through the door at work, and then my tummy rumbles so I eat rubbish to keep me going).Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

could you have a dropped kerb, one car parked on the drive and one blocking the drive (it would at least be your car)? It may not work but possibly an option

OK the working week has started and we are on the count down to half term now. I am to be an invigilator the the upcoming exams so am currently doing the training for that. Still more to do and it is quite long. Caught up with some bits after having almost a week of half days.
Currently sitting waiting for valuation number 3 to happen. Few minutes to go. The house was still clean apart from DD1's room, which I think is now done. I asked her to do it on my return and got a very grumpy answer, but I have seen plates been returned to the kitchen and put in the dishwasher so I am hopeful. Not sure why she is grumpy. Will investigate once the valuation is over.
I wonder what this one will say. These are the company that I bought the house with 20 ish years agoMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
