I am found wondering what your DD buys in the CS ;0
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

DD2 actually came home with just what was on her list.  She has 3 friends with birthdays so they all have a bar of chocolate, a face mask and a bath bomb.  She bought herself some lip balm but that was it.  Very shocked.  She did have limited money after the previous CS spends lol.

  • Have you or your DS thought about trying lessons in an automatic car? My eldest DS was the same as your DS and an automatic car was a game changer for him.

Thank you @tryingtodobetter DS said that the driving instructor has mentioned it.  I asked him if he thinks it would help and maybe he would like to have lessons then, but she still isn't keen on learning.  I think it is the next thing that we look into to see if it would make a difference.

It seems to me you'd be better saving the money for the time being.  If the interest in learning isn't there it all seems a bit pointless.  If a time comes when he's interested in learning then an automatic may well be better as there is less to think about other than driving and watching the road!  Gear changing can be very difficult if someone has difficulty with multi tasking.

We have cancelled the driving lessons and will get the extra money back for the 3 hours that we had paid over.  DS still wants to give the theory test a go next week so we will go there before the dentist - what a fun day that will be lol.  If and when DS decides he would like to learn to drive or needs to learn to drive, then I reckon it will be in an automatic.  Will leave it for him to decide when he is ready.

Not long left before half term.  So far I have done all long days this week, and I think the long days will carry on for the rest of the week.  Why people leave things to the last minute who knows, but at least we can plan for their craziness and expect the rush, as they do it every time a holiday is coming up.

This evening I spent over 3 hours on a zoom call learning how to be a welfare officer for the sports club.  It was much better than I had expected but I am now waiting for my dinner to finish in the oven as timings were strange, meaning I couldn't eat before and then it would feel odd eating on camera, even though they said we could.  Anyway looking forward to it.

Been doing some more surveys and so close to cashing out now.  I will go over the £20 once the pending balance has cleared.  I also have a Triyit box to go through as it arrived today, so will save it for the weekend and take pictures to post online so I might win some extra things.

Right off to check the sausages :)

My goodness me dinner was really good last night.  It was either really tasty or I was really hungry, I could have eaten it all again.  Anyway the remainder of the sausages will become sausages and mash after we get home from club.

The house is really cold at the moment but there is no point in turning the heating on until we get home later.  We are all exhausted so it will be dinner showers and then bed.

Been helping DD1 make a tshirt for her BF.  She put fabric paint on her lips and kissed inside a template of a magic 8 ball.  It looks really good, although I did mention that the paint on lips may not be that healthy for her.  It needs 24 hours to dry and a quick iron before handing it over tomorrow evening after work.  She will be back on the more human shift from now on and hopefully with someone who follows the rules.

Only 1 more day to go at work and we are so ready for it.  I am sure we will be doing things in the holidays but it will be the relaxed mornings that make all the difference

Realised that tomorrow my £5 off £50 runs out, so feel that I should find time to do the food shop tomorrow.  I would like to do some batch cooking next week to fill the freezer again.  It worked really well last time I did it.

Feel more relaxed now that sports club is done for the week.  We have just got to get through tomorrow and then relaxation time.

Ok time for a shower and then bed :)

Yay we made it to half term.  I was a whizz at getting things finished off today, ticking them off the list, adding extra bits on and then completing those too.  I stayed the whole day but happy that I wont need to come back to a long list.

Stopped off at lidl and did a quick shop so that we could get food not only for the weekend, but use the £5 voucher off.  Freezer is full now as it the fridge.  I think the only thing we may need is milk and potatoes as I didn't buy either.  Got home and scanned it to get the points.  Very easy shop bought pizza for dinner.  Just the 3 of us as DD1 is getting dinner with BF when home.

I have sat down on sofa which is probably a big mistake as now I feel sleepy, but still need to do some bits.  Will force myself off it, make dinner, load dishwasher and washing machine and then maybe flop again.  Might even change into pjs early tonight and shut the curtains and snuggle away from the world outside.

Have woken nice and early because I don't need to get up - so typical but it does mean that I get some quiet before everyone else gets up.  I do feel awake though which is good.  DD1 has left for work - it was lovely seeing her returning yesterday so happy now she feels safe and her and her partner have the same outlook on things (following rules and laws).  She has left her BF in bed.  It is really like having a 4th child in the house as he is definitely not ready for adulting as yet but lovely with it.

Anyway no real plans today other than to get the kitchen looking like it is fit for purpose and not a health hazard, and then to get the clothes washing done.  The house surprisingly is still looking quite tidy since the valuations - maybe as a lot of the clutter went.  Might have a hoover of the living room though.

I do need to look at the bank balances and work out if and what overpayment I make on the debt this month.  Need to do it before the Monday when I let benefits people know my balances again.
