Had an initial look through the pile from DD2. There are lot of decent clothes in the pile so will bag those up to see if we can get some money for them. There are also a lot of DS games. I know I have the boxes in the loft so will find those and match them up. Going to see what we can get some money for. Some bits will go to work and then the rest can go to either the charity shop or the tip. Need a few boxes to separate things. Will bring some paper boxes home from work tomorrow.
Text DD1 to get her to ask about holiday she is taking. She has asked for days off to go to her 2 uni interviews, but they have put 2 days down each time. Not sure why, as she isn't working the day after so surely she wouldn't need holiday. Told her to ask the lady in the office. If that happens her holiday allowance will disappear very quickly.
Now sitting down to watch the traitors. Lunch has been made for tomorrow at work, although I may have a half dayMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Taken an afternoon off as I know I am tired (the usual sore throat from ulcers is my first sign to step back). Bought home a few boxes so tomorrow I will continue with the sorting of DD2's charity donations. Just enjoying some day time tv while I ate my lunch.
Tonight we have sports club and DD1 at work again so I will be attempting to run it. She isn't enjoying her late shifts this week and will be asking to go back to the slightly earlier shifts. She has missed seeing me and BF and likes the lady more from the earlier shift as more experienced and calmer. I had already predicted this but she has to learn.
No idea what is going to be for dinner as yet - something quick. Still not been shopping. Might have a see what we can find dinner. Still a little cheese left from Christmas and some crackers and plenty of bread and beans. I am sure we will not starve.
About to go to collect DD2 as its piddling down with rain. As we were leaving for work today I walked out of gate to find a steam roller and tarmacking lorry (full size) behind my car blocking us from getting out. I was not best pleased as there was no notice or apologies. I was a few min late which work are fine about but that is not the point. I made sure they were aware DD1 would be needing to leave at 11. It certainly did not put me in the right frame of mood to start the day.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Done for the week as I am having another half day. XH's whole family are in town for a wedding this afternoon and evening, so I will not be going anywhere near town until they have all gone home. The children have been invited but don't really want to go as XH will be there. I said it was up to them and either way their uncle will understand (hardly ever in contact with them anyway).
Was a late night last night as DD1 came home crying as her and BF had had an argument while she was talking to him on her drive home last night. She was tired and he wasn't listening. Pretty sure all is well again but I had to be told how unreasonable he was. She also had more tales of her new workmate. She is definitely after the other lady now as was pressured in to driving quicker than she would have liked in the rain just because workmate wanted to get back early. DD1 is very much a person who likes to follow rules and the other girl really isn't. Today is the uni interview for the one she would like so she can still live at home and work part time. She text me to say they are all girls so far and all dressed almost identically. Fingers crossed everyone.
I've just watched a £5 not being blown into our front garden by the wind. I went to collect it and there was no one around. Last week DD1 found one in next doors garden and posted it through the letter box. Where are these notes coming from?
I must sit down and do an online shop as it has been a week since I meant to do it and food is getting in short supply now for main meals. The kids do not want the same meal over and over apparently. I have a voucher I bought the other day (so I could get a small amount off it) so just need to place the order.
Today is pay day number 1. Money has been deducted at source for the debt, and pots have been filled in my bank accounts.
So a few things to do in the next hour or so before collecting DD2:
Food order
Book kids dentist for half term if possible
Find wedding card just in case they go
Contact hall for sports club
Keep an eye on front garden just in case more money flies by lolMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

It is still baffling me about the £5 note. If I dropped it I'd be chasing after it down the street like a crazy woman lol. But 2 of them in a week or so. Just strange.
We have food arriving tomorrow. The kids are thrilled. Not that I am starving them or anything like that, it is just the fact the choices are limited and a little strange sometimes. I used my £5 voucher from complaining as well as the one I bought the other day but never managed to spend. I then only had to top it up with £11. I tried to use my nectar points but it said that there was an error. Will use them next time.

Keep an eye on front garden just in case more money flies by lol - I have been checking but have no closed the curtains for the day.
Not too bad. Hopefully the sports hall will be back in touch soon.
Broke another tooth while eating lunch. I will one day have a full set of dentures due to my fear of dentists. I look forward to being able to eat crunchy things again.
DD1 home from her interview and cant tell if it went well or not. Hopefully she will get an answer before too long.

Woken to a lovely bright sunny day. I am sure it is still freezing cold but the sun helps to brighten the mood and productivity.
DD2 has rehearsals for her production between 10.30 and 3.00 so I need to play taxi for that. I am also taking DD1 for her patch test at the hair dressers at 3. Not sure how I will be in 2 places at the same time especially at opposite ends of town but never mind.
I would like to give the fridge a wipe down and clear out before the new food arrives. It has been a while and as it is almost empty, today would be a good time. Downstairs is filthy and messy so I need to get cleaning and sorting, as well as the usual washing mountain that needs working through.
I am hoping to have a curry tonight (if DD1 is home - will wait until tomorrow is she is going out) as been wanting one since my birthday. I have bought all of the ingredients and am looking forward to it (cheaper than takeaway). I would also like to get a lentil dahl in the slow cooker, so that I can fill the freezer with a few portions for when I feel like it. Plus I seem to have quite a few packs of lentils in the cupboard that need using.
I need to encourage DS to practice for his driving theory test. It is quickly approaching test time and we have already moved it once as he hadn't put any effort in. He is paying for the app so trying to make him realise that he can cancel the app once he has passed and he will have more money each month to spend on his gaming. Now time to try and wake him - a challenge in itself.
Have a great day everyoneMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Wow flying £5 notes! I think it's a gift from the universe to boost you in the cold hard days of Jan
I'd be thanking them and asking if it isn't too much trouble could I have a few more
Hope you have a good day and good luck getting DS to revise for the test! My DS1 was a nightmare for revising for his until he had a huge row with his then GF (she was his taxi driver and he relied on her quite a bit) and I managed to get him in the right mood one day, told him if he passed he wouldn't need to rely on her anymore, and he literally sat there and revised solidly for a week and passedthe right carrot is definitely the way forward.

Like your DS he has no ambition to learn to drive as on the odd occasion he does go somewhere, we all go as a family and I drive. I am encouraging him to do it as I know a few people who have waited until older and regretted it. He plans to either get a job in town so he can walk / bike or will use the train or bus. He doesn't go out with friends (well only to the local gym across the road) so has no need for a car or learning to drive.
And yes if more £5 notes could float into the garden (and obviously anyone elses garden who is reading this) we would be more than grateful, thank you universe.
Washing in the machine, dishwasher unloaded and ready for me to reload next. DD1 briefly popped by and confirmed all ok for curry tonight before going out again. Could tell she just wanted time at home alone, but went off with BF, who will also sort getting her to the patch test later. DD2 dropped off, kitchen half sorted.

I have woken from a really good sleep and feel quite refreshed and ready to go this morning which is a novelty. I am about to take DS to work and on the way home will collect my library books and vitamins that I ordered in as the shop didn't have any. I could also do with picking up a few things that I have noticed we have run out of. I have a trip to the tip for DD2's bits that I have sorted. I am left with just 1 bag of clothes that I think we can sell.
Curry last night was just what I needed, and normally we'd divided it between us, but because we are trying to be healthy and we had a naan bread and rice with it, I have frozen another 2 portions for another time. We had more than enough and its another meal we wont need to spend time cooking.
Right time to get DS to work

After feeling good about life and getting in and out of town in 15 minutes my day has taken a nose dive. The neighbours have spoken to the builders who have told them the patch of grass in front of where we have parked for the past 19/20 years is to be rented out as parking spaces to other houses down the road. This basically means that we will not be able to park outside our house.
I so want to move houses and just up and move but I really don't have the funds. I just want to leave this road. I think I will get a valuation for the house and see what my options are, but realistically I still owe my uncle money for the mortgage, and am on benefits so don't think I have much chance.
Our only other option is to tarmac some of the front garden and get a dropped curb. I could see this coming but didn't really want it to happenMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
