Cashed out £28 and a few pence and then have £7.83 waiting to clear. Have changed up £30 into vouchers ready for Christmas.
DD2 and I have had a fun evening playing quiz games and I am about to spend a little while crocheting before falling asleep when DD1 returns homeMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I have lost my crochet bag. I thought it was in my bedroom but it would appear not. The only other place it may be is in the car as I sometimes used to take it when I was waiting at the children's clubs. Thought I had emptied the car since, but will look later today. I ended up doing some of my cross stitch (another unfinished project) instead but could only do a little before my eyes got tired.
Haven't managed to get to the supermarket as yet. I'm going make a loaf in the bread maker so we have something lunch. I have completed an online shop and used the work perks to get money off that. About £4.50 savings so cant grumble for just a little bit of faffing around. Need to remember to keep doing this. Will see what is in the freezer that we can have for dinner - might be a mix and match type of meal/
I have bought DD1 some additional drawers like DD2 has in her wardrobe. I suggested she had them when we originally did the rooms, but up until now she has said no. Delivery is free and money came from house maintenance pot, so that is good. I have also bought some green bleach as trying to be a little more eco friendly. I had a £5 voucher free on amazon from the work perks scheme so that went towards it. DD1's white duvet cover is no longer anywhere near white. She has asked for another cover, but I aim to work my magic on it to see if I can make it any better before giving up on it. I may also suggest we buy some green dye if it wont go back to white. The actual cover is perfectly fine so no point throwing out.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I hope you find your crochet bag, I found my knitting one shortly before christmas. It was the first time in over a year and a half that I wasn't doing any DIY and I decided to sit and knit something. I am not very good at it
but I managed to make some cute scarves out of wool I already had and it was fun to do. I wish I had sat with my nan years ago when she would try to teach me her skills, she could knock up a kids cardigan in a day!
Have you tried soaking the duvet cover in some white vinegar and bi carb, I remember someone telling me to do this before on something and it did work. I also used to use bleach to whiten stuff but i see you aren't using it any more...me either, I have just swapped for some eco friendly stuff (apparently).

Another busy week done and dusted. I have just placed a supermarket order for delivery tomorrow night, and caught up with some money bits.
I have been trying to look into money once DD1 leaves education. She is unsure what she wants to do but there are 2 options. 1 - uni or 2 job or apprenticeship. With the uni she will possibly be entitled to some grants and with working she will bring in a wage.
My question is, will the grants count as income that I need to tell the benefits people about? And if earning a wage will this wage be counted when working out my benefits. She will be paying some rent, but I wouldn't expect her to give me it all. The money she does contribute I would declare. In everything I can see it talks about me and my partner. Does she count as a partner?
If her income does count I am going to be short by a big chunk of money. I knew it would happen but was thinking it would be when DD2 leaves school and not this coming school year.
I have booked DD2 in to several different free art days over the Easter holidays, and we will be doing our usual outdoor cooking (fingers crossed it is dry). She also has some ice skating tickets to use up and then we have a pizza hut voucher to use up. DD1 & DS will come too to the pizza hut.
I found my crochet bag which I had put away under the bed. Thought I was going mad. I have finished the poncho but need to add some tassels to properly finish it. I only know how to do the granny squares so I need to learn a few more stitches so that I can make something else. I have also booked myself in to do a couple of workshops after easter. One is stained glass and the other is making flowers out of wire dipped in resin. Both look fun and will scratch the itch to learn something new craft wise.
Tomorrow I am off out for a walk with the girls from work. Not sure I am up for the long walk that they are hoping to do, but it has been decided and I cant really say no. I need to find my boots as it will be muddy. But now I need to get to bedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Woke up this morning and realise I didn't go through voucher site to buy supermarket order. Could have saved £5 or so. Must try to remember to do this.
I think I may have found the answer about DD1 though. I believe she is a non dependant rather than a partner, and until she turns 21 they don't deduct anything from me for her (other than the money I'm currently getting for her being in education). When she turns 21 they take a standard £85.73 off per month, what ever her income is. Obviously this may change by the time she gets to 21. Her income would however increase the council tax as I wont be a single person and it is based on household income. This will go up to the full amount each month.
Speaking of council tax I received my new bill and payments are about £5 extra a month. The other notice I got yesterday was my insurance reminder. I need to start looking at comparison sites in the next week or so as it renews the first week in April. Initial quick look seems to show not too much change, but will follow martins advice and look at it 20 ish days from renewal for the best price.

Walk completed although only 3 miles as one lady needed to get off. Its a lovely spring day and the sun is shining. Very pleasant. Only problem is I wore my boots (and they were needed) but now I have a blister on the bottom of my heal. Towards the end I adjusted my sock that felt like it was rubbing, but I think it was too late by then. My trainers would have been comfier but the amount of mud we waded through, they would not have worked. Maybe something to consider buying if this is going to carry on.
Going to do some admin (sitting down jobs) and then get going again with the usual weekend washing and cleaningMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I think that DD may be disregarded for council tax purposes if an apprentice depending on amount earned and qualification working towards. Check your local council website.1

Well the weather has turned and is wet and grey compared to yesterdays blue skies and sunshine. Not too much planned for today other than the usual weekend bits. DD2 has the school show every evening this week so trying to get organised a little more than normal. Tried to plan slow cooker meals or quick to make meals so that she can eat early and before the shows.
The local repair cafe is open this afternoon so will hopefully take the toaster for them to look at. It is a 4 slice toaster but currently only 2 slices work. I have tried cleaning it and emptying the crumbs but no change. Maybe it will get it mended for me. This will save me looking at the new toasters longingly lol.
The actual renewal for the car insurance has come in from my current supplier and is almost double. When I went through the comparisons site it came up with my current supplier as top but for much less. Will need to look into it more. Really worried for DD1's insurance due in May as she will still be classed as a new driver even though hopefully will have a year of no claims, and last year it was a lot of money. Not sure we can justify double that.
DD2 has just told XH that she is no longer seeing him each fortnight so will be here with me now full time. The only one that goes to see him is DS, who doesn't want to rock the boat, and I guess is after a bit of male company as he lives with all of us girls most of the time. I have always said it is up to them.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
