Garage all done - it really didn't take long at all, and was worse in my mind that in person. I was reminded about DS's broken bed that I have kept until the dispute is finished. The last email said the company had 40 days to find a reason that I should still pay - that was on 24th Nov, so I can now get rid of that. Its all ready for the incoming bathroom so that is great.
While I was outside I decided to weed the front garden. It looks much better now and the bulbs poking their way through will look good.
Think that is most of the list I had for this weekend, so its another day done
Going to be a quick easy dinner of pasta and then shower and bedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I am very happy to have made it to the weekend. It has been a very long week and I am certainly ready for the weekend. I have covered a lady who has been off most of the week, as well as trying to fit in my own work too. I have worked full days apart from 1 which was short to take DS to the college for his interview. Decided full time work is not for me lol.
I also went out to a quiz last night with a good friend, so a late night there too. DD1 informs me that tonight will be a late one too as she is off to see some bands in a local town.
My new bed is arriving tomorrow morning so ideally I would like to empty my room tonight so the new one can go straight upstairs rather than both being in the living room and me trying move bits around. Unfortunately the people collecting the old one have cancelled so I need to put it on freecycle or olio in the hope someone can come and collect it asap......Just done this and already have a request from someone. Fingers crossed they can come tonight as only half of the bed is moved and already the living room is full. Need to get the other half down here and the drawers emptyMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

My new bed is arriving tomorrow morning so I have emptied my room tonight so the new one can go straight upstairs rather than both being in the living room and me trying move bits around. Unfortunately the charity collecting the old one have cancelled so I put it on freecycle and olio. In minutes I had a request from someone. Fingers crossed they can come tonight. Room is half empty so I can sleep tonight then once DD1 has gone to work we can use her room to make space to build it, before storing all the bits I will be moving. I have charged the electric screwdriver ready.
I have a food delivery arriving between 9 and 11 (currently 10 stops away). Will need to get cheese tomorrow as they have subbed the mature cheddar for mild - no thank you lol. Once that has been I will be quickly in my pjs and in bed.
Tomorrows jobs:
* Bed made and room sorted
* Hopefully get old bed gone
* Order bits from Wickes to be delivered in half term if possible
* Buy cheese
* Washing
* Clean fridge out - whiff coming from something
* Clean kitchen
Hoping that if I get most of the jobs done tomorrow, I can relax and get energy back ready for Monday (lady I cover probably isn't back until at least Wednesday)Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I'm up ready to go, but the children have other ideas and are enjoying their beds. The delivery man rang to say they will be here 30 to 45 min depending on traffic. No further reply from freecycle person but hopefully soon, as bed really is in the way and I would like to clear it.
I have a plan, some energy (not loads, but hopefully enough) and a whole weekend to get sorted if needed. Might as well put the first load of washing inMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

A few loads of washing and a bedroom almost sorted. Had to stop for a little rest. Old bed is still awaiting collection so the living room is out of bounds unless I can persuade anyone to help
take it to the garage. Muscles are aching and I am very much looking forward to getting into bed for a good nights sleep.
Got an appointment for the tip tomorrow to get rid of the boxes and maybe some other bits from around the house.
Need to make dinner next, but also just want to sitMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Good morning. The bed is comfy but I was so warm last night that I kept waking up, so not a perfect night sleep as yet.
This morning I have been to the tip to get rid of the bed packaging. While there I asked if there was a container for donations to be sold - the guy said no but there is in the site 10 miles away. As charity shops are being a bit picky at the moment, and I have quite a lot to go, I think I will schedule a trip in the half term. DD2 has a bowling party in the town so we can combine the trip maybe. Still no communication from anyone who wanted the old bed, so I think it will be making its way to the garage before long, just so I can get the living room sorted.
More washing is needing to be done and the kitchen needs attention. At least the sun is out so I may attempt line drying the washing today. Thinking maybe easy chicken wraps for dinner tonight.

Another week has been and gone. 1 week left before half term week where we can rest a little, even though we are going to be just as busy.
Money is ticking along nicely. I received my cost of living money yesterday which was a nice treat. That has gone into the pot ready for extra increases in things.
I need to get a few bits done over the weekend but mainly washing, nagging about homework / revision, and then the meal plan and shopping. Nipped to lidl on the way home from the school run and picked up a ready meal curry as a naughty treat. Also got my free brownie that I won on their coupon spinner.
The neighbours have been talking to the builders who mentioned our road will be closed for a week while they put the roof on the house they are building. They don't know when, but considering they have completed the brickwork above the windows upstairs I would say it is very soon. The builders have avoided me as they know I wont just say ok. It means that we will not have access to our driveway for a week. I think that deserves a little notice rather than arriving home one day to find a big crane in the way and the builders then deciding to tell me!
Just had a call from DD2's school concerned about her writing today. She always write about very dark subjects. Today's one obviously just sparked a little too much concern for her teacher, who got the safeguarding teacher to call to make sure everything is ok. I let him know that she is indeed fine. I had the phone on speaker so she could hear us talking and found it amusing. I am glad they called as if she does ever say anything that concerns them and might be a problem, at least they should let me know. We have always known this day would come, as I always hear about what she has written, and always joke that I will get a call from the school one day.

Not much happening here today. Very grey and miserable so have spent time looking online for meal inspiration quite a bit of the time. Have done a food shop and scanned it on to get points. Cottage pie and veg tonight so comfort food for this time of year.
DD1 is off out later but promises me that she will be home at a reasonable time, unlike last night. Tonight the party is in a pub that the XH's family seem to be a all of the time, so she is not looking forward to it that much as rarely has contact with them. The plan for the rest of us is to have dinner, and then watch a film. I'm going to have a scroll through various channels in a little while and see if I can come up with one that most of us will like.
The builders or rather the scaffolding people were here all of this morning putting up another layer, assumingly for the roofers. I did wonder if the site manager might mention our road being closed, but no. I guess it will still come as a surprise to me.
While half watching the film I am going to check the budgets and spreadsheet to make sure everything is going to plan. Will need to find my pizza hut voucher for next weeks trip out and work out all of the other jobs that need doing that week. Best go get the veg onMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hi Slm, I remember you from the DFW diaries, I had a bit of a break for a while as I moved and then broke up with my now ex H - got into more debt, honestly fell into a horrible depression and was too depressed to even come back here to try and sort the debt which was mostly ex's that he ran up behind my back in my name....met my DP (we're engaged now) in 2019 after being on my own 3 years almost to the day and we've since moved and paid off the debt and finally I made it back here..... To pick up my MSE ways again and it's so lovely to see old names that I recognise and remember chatting with.
