Thank you to you all. The farmhouse that we are staying in is about 7 miles away from Boston and just north of Gypsey Bridge, according to the lady who owns it. I will be looking into all of your suggestions thank you. I didn't realise I booked it for the week of DD1's exam results, but she seems to be ok with this.
Yesterday I spent the evening trying to finalise the bathroom bits that we will need. The only thing (I think) to decide on are the tiles. I am going to go to local town tomorrow and see if I can make more of a decision in person. I will also go into the local diy store and look at their shower enclosures to confirm I am making the correct choice. I am very aware that the builders are due to start in 8 weeks time and as yet I haven't bought anything. I don't want the work to have to pause because a part hasn't arrived yet. I also have a pair of leggings to take back for DD2 that she had from Christmas. She has obviously had a growth spurt and needs the next age up.
We finally found DD2's carpet yesterday and put things in the correct storage spaces. Her room is so small, anything not put away causes a lot of mess and she can not use her room as she would like. We need to go through her storage boxes and get rid of things no longer needed, so she has the room for new items and things she would like to use. The whole house needs decluttering and finding spaces for everything. I just feel like I am moving things from room to room at the moment without properly sorting thingsMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Good afternoon. DD2 and DS are with XH and DD1 is at work so I have had the day to myself. About half an hour left. Anyway I have been to a local town 20 min away with lots of good shops. I swapped DD2's leggings for a bigger size, and then found a few bits in the sales for me. I must admit I went into non budget thinking mode, but thankfully after trying things on only a few came home with me.
I also went to a tile shop and think I have found what I would like. I think it will stand the test of time, but not be basic flat white tiles. It will be mainly flat white with a white wavy 3d texture for a central band around the room. Possibly just wavy tiles in the whole shower area - wondering how easy they are to clean in comparison.
One of my broken teeth was broken a little more thanks to a marshmallow! I don't do dentists and this tooth is long past the point of repairing, so will need to come out. All previous teeth out have been at the hospital once I have been knocked out. I need to get on the list as I know there will be a long wait, and I know I have been lucky to have no pain as yet.
Anyway I think today has been quite successful. All I need to do now is turn the heating on as the house is so coldMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Been a cold busy day. Work was productive after scrapping in at 1 min past my start time - DD1 gave me a lift from the garage to work, but took her time to get out of the house! - anyway very grateful she took me. My car now has a MOT and new drumstick? They have also had another look at why the car keeps stalling when I slow down. Today they have cleaned the turbo which should help - who knows but will keep an eye on it. Just under £200 for this visit.
I was kindly given a lift into town rather than needing to walk, where I met an old friend and she bought me lunch for my birthday. I then walked home and waited to collect the car. DD's then took me to Tesc0s to buy me some flowers and a cake ready for tomorrow. We saw everyone in there and spent 3 times as long catching up with people, than actual shopping. I have some very nice tulips in the vase on the fireplace.
Just dropped DD2 off at music club and will collect in a few hours. Cooking the pasta bake and have put the heating on to try and warm the house up. I need to load the dish washer but also need to defrost firstMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well yesterday was my birthday and I was treated well by all. I received a few gifts and had cake. We did get a takeaway but it has lasted for lunch today too so not too bad.
Work plus extra 2 hours of training today, followed by my exercise class. It will be a shower and then bed for me I think. Although tomorrow is one of my longs day at work, we have nothing going on in the evening which will be nice as it has been a busy week so far.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you @Jessy103. I don't really do birthdays but it was nice to know how much people care.
I have a dilemma.. The builders can no longer make it in March and in their words they will need to move the bathroom makeover to 'much later in the year'. I have the money ready but can not keep it in the bank as benefits people will not like it there for too long. Here are the choices:
*Use Wickes to install the bathroom - in roughly 12 weeks. This options is quicker but I don't have any idea of the quality of the installers.
* Spend the money on the new car (next big expense) now and then save up again, by which time my builders should be available. Having just spent quite a bit of money fixing my car, hopefully it is ok for a while, but it is old and I had planned on changing it by the end of the year.
Replacing something before it breaks doesn't sit well with me, but maybe I would get more for the exchange in working condition? It would be nice to have a car that I am not worried about breaking any time soon, and we wouldn't need to worry when going further afield like on our holiday or to my sisters.
I just cant make my mind up. If I buy the car there will only be a small amount in my emergency fund, so that too would need topping up. I do have an unused credit card that I would be able to use in real emergencies too.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well we went to look at the car but the show room was shut. Sure they all used to be open all weekend. Found the car we have been looking at online, but it is smaller than I thought, and although I was going to downsize a little, I'm not sure its perfect for me to be spending all my savings on. So I am back to the dilemma - keep looking for my next car or go with Wickes installationMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
