All that waiting and then all guns blazing. Don't you love the British legal system? You can do this. Its a pain but it will all be over soon. You are amazing. You have powered through this so well. I think you need to tell your ex to get his ducks in a row just in case he hasn't had his post. Like you say. The money should encourage him to crack on.
Well done you on all your amazingness xxxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

I like to know what i am doing when - i make plans. My plan was end of march - now that's changed i am all a tither. My uncle like to take his time and really it will be him that i need to hurry along. Am ringing him again tonight to tell him the time has changed again. Anyone know anywhere other than a solicitor to decipher legal jargon?Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I can imagine how you’re feeling. It’s good and bad as you’ve got a little quick stress to deal with but all the sooner the house will be yours! What are you doing if u don’t mind me asking? Giving the ex his equity cash and he’s signing the whole house over to you?I hope it all goes smoothly for you. I can imagine the stress of relying on your uncle too especially if he’s in no rush and you’ve got a deadline to meet. Fingers crossed it all comes together and once this is sorted you can look more realistically at the chances of you moving! XxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Thank you - yes i am handing over some money and he will sign his small share of the house over to me. This will then free him up to move on with his life that he is very keen to do. I know it is good and i only have to get through the next few weeks and all should be fine. I spoke again with uncle and told him of the revised dates. Yeah yeah ok....2 mins later so by the 28th then. For goodness sake ....no 25th. It will all be fine i am sure. Now off to find 2 documents with my address on and my driving licence....its not where i normally keep it so must have used it for ID sometime recently?Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

You can call your mortgage company and get your redemption quote and they can post it to you. That will help things forward. Maybe you should have lied to your uncle. 18th Feb maybe?

Yes it will hopefully just be a case of yes he can loan or gift me the money. Its the money to XH that is the issue. He may not need to loan me that money but just gift it as it is going straight to him and it wont benefit me. But gifted money is not allowed hence the loan for mortgage side of it. It would just mean i had a lot less to pay back to him if that part could be gifted. We shall see.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Ok so i have been into town for the first time in a long time. I did the ID for solicitor and dropped the paperwork into them. I hope it is ok. I tried to bank the children's birthday and Christmas money, but we were 10 min too late and they had just shut. I could still see them sitting at their counters, but were obviously just cashing up. Never mind, i will try again next time we are in town. I have a feeling it will be a regular thing as we will need to deliver several bits to the solicitor over the next 2 weeks. No news yet from the benefit decision maker, but plenty of time before i can ask again.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Uncle is on the case and off to town to sort paperwork this morning, so hopefully I will have his paperwork in the next day or so. Not heard from XH as yet so guessing he hasn't opened his post. I have a feeling the address he has given and says he is living at is not the actual place he is living and he has indeed moved in with the other woman - its got to be warmer than in the shed with his dog! Anyway if he holds things up his end that's his fault. I will do all that i can to get it sorted by the right date.
We had a little disaster the other evening. Water started dripping through the ceiling in the living room. It has done this in the past and we ended up with a hole over a meter squared. At that time it was the water cylinder that had cracked. Thankfully it looks like it was DD2 being careless when taking a shower and getting water everywhere. It must have found every little gap and worked its way down through the floor and into the living room. The ceiling only felt soft in one area but it has left a small hole about the size of a screw head. I am hoping to be able to fill it quite easily.
All 3 kids still haven't come downstairs and i am not worried as it is cold and they are happy in their beds, plus its half term. Its not as if we have places to go. Todays plan for me is to tidy the living room and kitchen as they have become awful this week. Ok must get onMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
