#55 declaring £2800 for October. A much better month for me.3

george4064 said:#027 declaring -£1,156 for September.
Finally completed on our new home at the end of September, so expecting some negative months for at least September and October as we gradually sort things out.
Despite a negative figure (cash balances down), its nice to see that overall my grand total (including investments) is holding up.
Have temporarily paused the S&S ISA contributions as I build up a cash buffer for expected works on the house in the near/medium-term future. However all the DDs and over payments have not yet been setup on our joint account, so I'm still yet not sure how well/if our (mine and OHs) contributions to the joint account will sufficiently cover for them all.
Additionally there are a few further bills (like council tax) that we haven't yet even setup despite having lived here for just over a month now, but from what I have read on the council's website we have to wait to receive our first bill...
S&S ISA returned 2.0% over October, and is currently +14.8% YTD vs +16.1% for Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap Acc. My performance is net of all fees (fund manager, trading costs and platform charges) whereas Vanguard is the same except platform charges are excluded (using simple prices from their website).

£734.83 from me this month. That is made up of two regular savers of £250 each (one of which matures this month I think (it is in DH's name) and a small amount of dividends, a £25 PB win and some Tilly tidying (£174.80). My self selection ISA has comfortably outpaced the managed one I have and the fees are much higher on the managed one. When DH gets back from his weekend away with his mates we need to have a sit and chat I think.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

#45 reporting in with £4625 for September and £4150 for October, making £47,086.08 for the year so far. It's been a couple of horribly busy months at work, but I guess it means no chance to spend it

#70 having submitted form with total of £39,848 for October courtesy of vested LTI shares (and a £25 PB win!) which has been reinvested within my GIA. This is going towards the pension bridging funds as I make the final preparations for stopping work / early retirement next month. 🥳

Aargh - lost my first post so having to re-type this...Reporting a modest £596 savings for October. Car MOT and service, car insurance, work parking permit, extra petrol to visit poorly family and funeral, lunch visiting no.2 son, paying for a work awayday- it all adds up. I've also, for the first time, booked a place at a Mindfulness awayday - so really looking forward to seeing how that goes.
We've also booked a fortnight in Lanzarote in December. Obviously a little concerned about 4 hours sitting on a plane in close proximity with lots of people. But all fully vaccinated, so personally I think this may be as good as it's going to get for quite some time. We did think about delaying until the spring, but I doubt things will be much different over the next year or so. Once we are there it will all be covid-safe, as we enjoy exploring beaches and cliff walks away from the crowds, and all meals eaten outdoors.
With these extra costs I'll probably finish the year on about 17k I think. I'll put a revised target on the update form.
There's been a bit of chat on here about reaching financial independence and retiring early. I'm getting closer to this stage now, thanks in part to this thread, so I met with our Head of HR last week to discuss 'succession planning' and starting to handover tasks to other capable people. I'd still like to stay on this thread once retired though, if SlowlyFading will allow, to save for things like a new car etc. Congrats to ilselm for reaching early retirement soon.

#21 reporting £1,878.58 for October. Had some vet bills again (of course they get whatever they need as I won’t scrimp on their care) making the total lower and some gifts purchased. Should hit my savings goal for the year though so that’s good although I did a lot better last year and im not totally sure why. Expensive few months coming up for Christmas which I resent being so expensive 😔

hi all, no. 10 here reporting £492.21 for October, bringing my total for the year so far to £7,144.41, slowly but surely creeping closer to target, £855.59 away at this point.6

£1474.91 for October, pretty pleased with that!
Very inspiring to see a lot of you hitting your FIRE goals or well on the way there. It all feels a very long way off from my place in that journey so a reminder that we will all get there eventually with the right planning and a bit of luck.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056
