Thanks for the heads up Suffolk_lass :)

I used to have a handful of regular savings but have given up on them now; too much hassle setting them up, moving money around accounts for the DDs, no access to it etc.

Even paying the max £250 pm into the Skipton only gives £56 interest for the year. That's better than a poke in the eye and as good as it gets at the mo, but I think I'm just too lazy to bother for £1 a week :o  :D
    Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

    Save £10,000 Jan-May 2022 THEN RETIRE!!
Final total for (half) year: -£4,000
  • Number 16 reporting £1498.56 for the month of August.

Gratefully received £83.56 interest from a Virgin Money savings account, £25 from a Premium Bond win and £8 interest from a Scottish Friendly savings account. Topped up to our total from savings from our salaries.

Really hoping to push on September to December, hoping for around £1320 each month until the end of the year - time will tell!

Number 76 reporting £762.99 for August. I'm disappointed in that number - I haven't gone crazy with my spending, it all seems to have leaked out here and there.
I have spent a lot more on food, and this is because I've not taken lunch to work and relied on the canteen - rookie error! - so this is where I'll be focusing on making some savings this month. Our rent will be going up from September which means I'll have to work a little bit harder to save, and I'm hoping by taking things with me to work more regularly will help even the added expense out.

#56 reporting a slightly disappointing £1,000 for August. I paid for a wee holiday and went to lots of gigs at the Edinburgh festival, so it’s been a fun, busy month, but savings have dipped a bit. Must pull up socks for the last few months of the year! Xx

#45 reporting in with £4,857.74 for August, which makes £38,311.08 for the year so far.

Still feel stuck in a holding pattern at the moment, elderly and very vulnerable parents mean we still have to be very careful, and so getting out and about or away on holiday is out of the question. Good for savings, less so for other things!

Morning all, #9 reporting in with £1,433 for August - slightly less than hoped and know it's due to getting out and about a wee bit more.

Reporting £1216.54 this month. A few family-related expenses - helping no.2 move to a much better flat in a better part of town, and like Lomcevak quite a lot of support for elderly and vulnerable parent, which all adds up but obviously we're only grateful that we're in a position to help.
