    # 22 with £850 for September. Not as much as I would have liked but will have extra expenses this month.

    Hi,

#003 Declaring £500 for September.  Form has been submitted also.

    Thanks

    Kev
  • #21 Oh dear, only £266.19 this month as I withdrew a lot to buy myself some sports equipment I really wanted (perhaps didn’t need 😬) and to cover lots of general overspend 🤦‍♀️ I did go away this month so bought extra food, petrol (3x normal spend on this!), and generally just off the wagon last month.

Back on track for September hopefully.

  • Hi SF, I am sorry but I am ducking out for the rest of the year. We have a bit of a family crisis that's got my focus elsewhere just now.

Best of luck everyone with the savings the rest of this year.
  • £4,000 saved (including shares increase) in June, bringing my total to £17,000. I had a target just till June of £12,000 as I thought I might fully retire then. I'm still plodding on and I think I'll still be working till the end of the year, so I'll unofficially increase my target for all of 2021 to £24,000.

It's more of a subject for the pensions thread really, but I do need to seriously consider when to let go of work. I don't even enjoy it now, but the irreversibility is scary and lockdown and WFH have further muddied the waters.
Took the plunge in May and have not regretted it for a moment. Life is short, if you are not enjoying work do you really need to do it? You are obviously saving at quite a rate. Plenty of (happy) things available to fill your day when retired.
Yup, I totally agree Westertonbilly. The 'not enjoying work' happened quite quickly with WFH; all the hassles of work, but in isolation and with no support or banter.

I will go in January if there are any redundancies (me, me, please!), or else use my leave to take February off then go at Easter. Let the fun times begin!

  • £916.62 for August. A broken car and a few bits and bobs meant it's lower than average. September also going to be low as well - the car then needs its MOT (and timing belt and service) and I've been to the opticians and already failed my MOT so new glasses it is. And I've got two weeks off so hopefully not all just necessary spending!

#17 reporting savings of £1,750 for August and I have requested to increase my target for the year from £15,000 to £18,000 - form submitted.
It has been a busy month with buying a replacement (2nd hand) car but I managed to keep that within the budget pot I had put aside - I even have some of that pot left but that will go towards any work I need to have done on the house.
