I am such a numpty!
I have been beating myself up for missing my target for 2020 by over £1,000, wondering where I went wrong and generally feeling like I have been silly with my money but not being able to work out how. The penny has finally dropped. I had set my 2020 target with a plan to get a lodger in my spare room again, but I avoided this because of COVID, though I never changed my target. That would have made about £3k difference to my income. I can't believe it has taken me so long to work out why I missed my target last year!

I'm finding that a meal plan is really helping me keep costs down(that and everywhere that I normally frequent being shut). What I wish I had, was an app where I could rate recipes I liked, and it would tell me when I last had them so I could rotate things round a bit more without having to put too much thought into it!
Breakfast has been a mix of overnight oats, or banana pancakes with blueberries and honey.
Lunch/Dinner has been homemade pizza's and slow cooked meals like stew's and soups. I do need to branch out a bit though. I'm going to try roasted aubergines with rice at the weekend, think it will keep for 2 days.
All in all, I'm looking at about £600 for the month so far, with a further £331 due from offers that I will include in my total once received:- £131 TV Licence reclaim - I got one last year to have more diversity in things to watch indoors, but never really used it. I've claimed it back before, but this year seems to be taking longer.
- £40 MSE Wealthify offer - I won't be retiring for a while, so any spare funds I have go into funds. May as well take advantage of the offers as they come.
- £135 credit card cash back, due in March.
- £25 Free Bank of America share from 212 referral - I cant sell this until mid March due to my employers T&C.

Good Morning SF,
This is #51 reporting a minus £2671.58 for January. On paper this looks like a terrible start to the year. However I get the keys to my new little house today which I have purchased and so I have had various costs for this. I have also reverted back to a more accurate way of capturing my saving gains & losses as I start a new job next week. This is really great news considering I lost my job in June last year, have kids etc so it has been tough. Anyway new year, new start! I really hope from February to start reporting better figures.
Thanks again for the thread, I won't bore you with the google sheets permission query, just to say I experienced the same and I'm sure you are aware of this.
Happy new year everyone, I hope you are all managing in these difficult times.

Bit of a challenging start as my work paid me half way through December, but so far managed to put away £222.76 for this month, which is made up between contributions into 2 savings accounts I keep.
Hope everyone is keeping safe in these trying times and I'll post the month final total In the next 2 weeks.3 -
