Okay, taking the plunge. Please can I join with a target of £15k? I am fairly sure I can reach 12k but 15 will be a stretch.

Please may I join? I’ve not done one before, do we just keep checking in here or are we responsible for tracking our own data? I’ve never managed to save more than a couple of hundred quid so I’d set myself a modest target of 4000.

Please  put me down for £10,000 in 2021.

Also saving for FIRE.  This figure will include: existing ISA savings, mortgage OPs, Xmas 21 savings, savings for 2021 holiday (optimistic aren’t I?!) plus random savings from general frugalling.  Are these sort of savings in the spirit of the challenge?

@Frugaliza the joy of this challenge is that you can make your own rules. I don't include the capital increases to my S&S ISAs for instance, but since stopping work I do count the dividends and interest as well as anything we put into pots (Tilly Tidies, regular savers, PB wins etc)

Please can you put me down for £10k? Thank you. I need some motivation to start saving big again.

Hi Slowlyfading! Been pretty AWOL in December but would love to join again for 2021. My target is £10k - I doubt I'll be able to save as much as I did last year, but will try :)

I'll update the 2020 post shortly
    Save £12k in 2022 = £3705.97/ £7,500 (49%)
    Save £12k in 2021 #76 = £11,857.21/ £10,000 (118%)

Please put me down for £12K this year. I can't see any way I can get close to last year's total, so I think £12K will be challenging enough. Thanks for all your hard work, Slowlyfading.

Does anyone have a general rule on this - being a Save x in 2021, I am looking to only count money I save from my salary income - not investments.  I get paid at the end of the month, but I use that to budget forward, so think my totals will be updated towards the end of each month just before I get paid again.
  • @slowlyfading not sure how to update on progress cant see a link i can click to enter month on month totals
