Good afternoon all
Debt balance as of 30/04/2022 £6491.09
I have done my budget for each month up to July. Every penny is counted for so I know where its all going too.
Today's jobs are consisting of sorting the house out.
Decluttering the kids clothes.
I have the day off today. We were going to go out but I'm not feeling great so the kids have been having a movie day at home with duvets and popcorn. They are happy and that's That matters.
Today will be a no spend day. Yesterday was also a no spend day. 😀 starting off may well.June 17 £16,000 debt ~ nov 18 DEBT FREE •June 21 £16,308 debt / july 22 debt free •Original mortgage free date 01/06/2059 current mortgage free date 01/05/20461 -

The lounge is currently full of stuff to sort into donate, sell and trash piles.
I'm slowly sorting through it all. Will do a charity shop drop off this week. Recycling centre is open Wednesday so I'll do some trips to there too.
I only have 3 days off this week but I'm absolutely determined to get on top of things once and for all , we seem to get on top of it and then side back to not on top of it so I'm going to sort out a plan with the family going forward.

@apple_muncher thankyou! Your ongoing support means so much ❤️
I sat down the other night and wrote out my goals that I wanted to achieve over the next ten years with target dates. 🙃
I'm determined to give my kids the best life I can, but I also don't want them to forget where we started.
At the moment, yes we have debt, but we have paid off debt before, we got on the property ladder, I've gained experience and qualifications in my role. One thing I've learnt in my life is that it's so easy to have things pull you down and keep you there. But actually the only way you will feel better and the only way you will move forward is by cutting those ties that keep you down. It doesn't matter what it is, or how hard things get as long as everyday you are doing at least 1 thing no matter how small to continue to move forward and not back or staying in the same place you were yesterday ❤️
My quote of the day
1 step forward each day, will move the demons further away.June 17 £16,000 debt ~ nov 18 DEBT FREE •June 21 £16,308 debt / july 22 debt free •Original mortgage free date 01/06/2059 current mortgage free date 01/05/20461 -
Morning all
Hope you are all well.
I have work this afternoon
Then the weekend off.
So far I have spent £31 of our £650 monthly (food/petrol/other essentials) budget. This was on 2 presents for parties the kids are going to this weekend.
I also spent £22 in tesco yesterday but I decided to use the money in our change pot (every few months I'll take all my change to tesco do a shop and put all my change though the self service to use it up, saves me having to bag it up for the bank). I knew I had £23 in change so I made sure I didn't go over the £23 pound. I will need to do a weekly food shop next week this was mainly stuff for packed lunches today and a few bits for the weekend.
I'm still trying to use up stuff In our freezer. The fridge I have been running right down to near enough empty before I do each food shop. Same for household and toiletries stuff.
We should be able to clear the loan this month once I have paid In some cash we have been saving up. That will then leave our final debt which is the housing association debt we have. And that should be paid off by July. Then we will be debt free apart from my student loans (which I'm not worried about) and the mortgage.

Hi, @mumof3.12kindebt. You're doing great at clearing the debt, well done. A point about the change. The machine in Tesco, and other supermarkets, charge a commission. Why not use a self service till and feed it in there instead, after all every little helps. £31 seems a lot for two birthday presents, although it's a long time since mine went to parties, why not take a look at the Works, maybe buy a stack of books and save them for upcoming parties. Also books are really easy to wrap. Take care, hugs, mumtoomany.xxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.2

I wouldn't normally spend so much I normally get things in sales but one of them is a good family friends child and the other is dds best friend so I spent I a little more than usual.

Haha, I had thought you were too good for that. We are all well, had an eventful week. It's lambing time again. Monday, a ewe was in the sheep shelter, she had her first twin. I went in to check it out and spray it's umbilical cord. The shelter is only about four feet high and, unknown to me, had a nail sticking down from the top. I hit my head on it and fell into the nettles. Once back out, I realised i was bleeding! Had to get son in law to clean it up. 3/4 inch gash! Handy having medical professionals in the house. Later i went back out to sort a ewe whose lamb was stuck. Chasing her to catch her, I pulled a muscle in my leg. Groin strain! Think my footballing career is over, before it's even started!
Great fun!! Only two more ewes to give birth now, then i can get some sleep again. Most people count sheep to fall asleep, we stay away to count them. Hope you and yours are all well, hugs, mumtoomany.xxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.2
